The Apurva Kempinski Bali

"This hotel does everything right it was absolutely perfect it really does have a wow factor. I’ve stayed in over 2000 hotels this is probably the best, seriously I just don’t see how they could make it any better. Check in was slow I guess and I made 500 photos in just 1 nights stay. Every corner you turn takes your breath away. Only open 3 months so got s good deal, it’s the best hotel in the area and I expect the best hotel in Bali. Very impressed. "

Conrad Bali
Nusa Dua,Bali - View on map
"It is certainly one of my recommended hotels in Bali... apart from this agoda package "King Deluxe Resort Breakfast Super Sale", which does NOT include breakfast... it is rather ridiculous to me... and I believed the name is totally misleading... however turned out the staff still offered us 1 person breakfast free "as complimentary". Anyway, the good things were that we came here for Honeymoon... we were surprised about the fireworks 5 mins after our arrival to the room... it lasted for around 5-8 mins... even though I believe it wasn't for us but it was just so romantic! Staffs are very friendly and polite. Breakfast is good too with enough variety. The hotel is conveniently located in Nusa Dua with a long private beach to enjoy sunrise every morning as well as water sports. And about 10mins drive to the normal we could easily find many other water sports too including diving and sea walk. Whenever I'll have the chance to go to Bali again, certainly will stay in this hotel again and will try the pool side suite I think."

Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort
Uluwatu,Bali - View on map
"Beautiful hotel, amazing views. Pool area was stunning, clean and lovely staff ensuring everyone was looked after. Room was a bit stuffy on arrival but opened the door and got the breeze blowing as well as staff lighting lemongrass oil burners. The smell disappeared after a couple of hours. Food was lovely, large servings and good value. Massages were wonderful but western prices so that was different from some other hotels in Bali. No need to go anywhere as each day was beautiful and evenings watching the sunset on the cliff were wonderful. Some renovation going on which wasn't really intrusive, the loudest thing was the water truck with pump going every afternoon but that was only at the back of the hotel. No problem with Mosquitoes as the breeze was great. Spa on the deck was lovely watching the sunset! Bed was huge and very comfortable room, always kept clean. Beautiful resort."

RIMBA Jimbaran BALI by AYANA
Jimbaran,Bali - View on map
"Best hotel in Bali. I felt really special and welcomed by staff. Staff welcomed us with flower garland while entering the hotel. Staff were really friendly, helpful and always smiling. I booked this hotel because both rimba and ayana have beautiful pools , restaurants and priority access to rock bar. Being the guest of Rimba we were given the best seat at rock bar. I would highly recommend this hotel. I cannot thank enough to the hotel and staff. We checked out at 12:00 but we had flight at 20:00. Staff allowed us to stay at the hotel and use all the facilities. This really made our day. "

Padma Resort Ubud
Ubud,Bali - View on map
"It was a first time for me to stay in Ubud as normally I would choose beach area whenever I visited Bali. But, this time, I tried Padma Resort in Ubud to stay in Ubud area. And it was really an amazing experience. The weather especially, it was cooling and refreshing. Furthermore the hotel was surrounded with a superb lush of greenery. The hotel size is not so big compared too many five stars hotels that I have ever stayed, it is just nice - two restaurants, spa, gym, swimming pool, kids club to name the facilities that they provide and all these do not require a long walk. To score the points, they make use the extra spaces and lands that they own with farming, garden, mini zoo and tracking track in the forest, which is really smart idea as guests can experience something different. I really recommend Padma Ubud for people who want to get away from the hectic life. The hotel itself is secluded and perhaps take 30 mins ride to Ubud city center. But this is the whole point of escaping f"

rock n reef
Uluwatu,Bali - View on map
"Waking to the sound of the Ocean lapping at the door is a beautiful experience rarely found in Bali Hotels ! The Rock n Reef is a genuine beachfront property, built on the beach & into the cliff in a simple Santorini style. With only 7 x rooms to care for, ever attentive staff ensured our stay was most comfortable. Caution that the steep walk in to the property is not for the elderly or infirm. However, once that has been negotiated you've arrived at one of Bali's best kept secrets. We spent the afternoons kayaking (free of charge) & reef walking the lagoon created at low tide. Surfing was the option for high tide. Recommended for couples looking to escape & enjoy an isolated but gorgeous seascape first hand. "

Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach
Seminyak,Bali - View on map
"Extremely friendly and accommodating staffs, tasty food, very good drinks. We really loved and enjoyed their breakfast buffet so much. We've been traveling around the world a lot and we have stayed in a few hotels in Bali and all we can say is Hotel Indigo has the best breakfast buffet with top notch customer service. During breakfast you can request your own fresh juice like you can choose whatever fruits you want and as many fruits as you want and they will freshly make juice for you. Their coffee and tea selections during breakfast was also very nice. You can choose whatever type of coffee you want be it mocha, latte, cappuccino, americano, expresso etc. The waiters/waitresses will come check on you once in awhile to offer more coffee/tea. The afternoon tea set at the Pottery Cafe is also very nice. It includes unlimited coffee and tea and you can change your drink around if you want to try different drinks and it's for free (coffee and tea only) "

More about Bali

Bali is a world away from the rest of Indonesia, and a longtime favorite with international travelers. Surfers have been coming here since the 1930s, but it wasn't until the 1960s that surfing vacations to Bali became the popular thing to do. Today, the trend continues and Bali sees as many surfers as it does affluent resort tourists.

Indonesia may have the world's largest Muslim population, but Bali fosters its own distinct culture. Hinduism has flourished here for nearly 2,000 years. Away from the beaches are fascinating Hindu temples, cultural exhibitions, terraced rice fields, and colorful festivals.

Kuta is the busiest resort district in Bali, featuring some of the top luxury hotels in Bali. Behind the main waterfront is a spread of budget guesthouses that are still within easy walking distance of the beach. From here it's a short trip by taxi or rented motorbike to Uluwatu, a massive limestone peninsula jutting out in the sea. Tourists visit Uluwatu to see the temple, go surfing, or watch the sunset over the majestic cliffs.

Legian is another must-see, as it offers an excellent surf along with exciting nightlife along the beach. Life in Legian begins and ends on the beach. Surf shops give lessons by day, and then give way to lively bars and live music venues after sunset. There is a reason that Bali is often referred to as paradise, and much of it is evidenced by a visit to the many beaches.
