Bath hotels & places to stay

From the moment our car approaching the hotel the hotel staff is coming up to gree us, smooth checking in, valet parking, handling our luggages to each room, showing us the hotel facilities, guiding us to each rooms, showing our point of interests and providing guidance with local map. When we use the hotel mineral hot spring bath pool the staff provide us with bathing suite with very reasonable price for one of our family member did not pack his swim pants. There's one staff at the pool to provide guidance and assistance with towels and drinks that make us the most relaxing family bath experience. But the best is yet to come, after we retire to our room, ready to sleep, I suddenly felt ill due to catching cold while walking over cold ocean water at Mt. St. Michael and ate disagreeable food on the road during the day before arriving hotel. I called house keeping service to bring hot water and 2 extra bath towels to my room. Within 3 minutes, one gentleman brought 2 bath towels to my room, after knowing I felt ill, he adjusted the thermo in my room to make sure I'm in comfortable warm temperature after he left then the second gentleman walked in with set of hot water, he poured and set the hot water table near where I seat after he make sure I'm comfortable then left and closed the door behind him. The kind words and gestures of the night house keeping staffs makes me so grateful. After taking medication I brought from home with me and a good night sleep, I was fully recovered in the morning and able to continue our traveling in UK. From the moment we approaching the hotel until the moment we leaving the hotel, the hotel staffs are always there ready to give assistance. It's this kind of human experiences that makes this place the most uniquely outstanding.

They upgraded our room and while I have no idea what our initial room was supposed to be like, this room knocked us off our feet. If I were to stay there again, no matter the cost I would 100% book this room (or probably any room in the main house as I assume they are all the same). The room was huge and made us feel as if we were royalty. The massive bathroom has a double-headed shower (so two can shower simultaneously), a separate claw-footed bathtub & a tv to watch all while you wash up. The view was gorgeous and the breakfast the next morning was very good. My only regret was that we weren't there longer! Such a relaxing & romantic getaway. (What's also crazy is that I spent far more to stay in tiny hotel rooms while in London than I spent on this room) The only drawback of this hotel is its location. While the scenery was gorgeous, the hotel is not within downtown Bath. Therefore, you will need a car, taxi/uber or utilize the inexpensive bus outside the property to get into town (the latter of which you will need to walk down a long driveway for).

Best apartment that we booked and stayed at bath. Very well equipped room with a full kitchen. The room is very huge with a small corridor connecting the main room and the toilet after the main door. The toilet has a bathtub too. After entering the main room, we felt like home sweet home. The room is with a king size bed, a small living room with a dining/dressing table and there is a door connecting to the kitchen to the back of the main room. As for the kitchen, it is very well equipped with fridge, freezer, dish washer, oven, microwave, kettle... whatever you need in the kitchen, you have it!! Excellent! Love this apartment!! Must book!

Absolutely fantastic hotel with great facilities in a great location! Only a 5 minute walk away from the Spa and the city centre, and right opposite Odeon cinema in case you fancy watching a film. I feel gutted that we didn't get a chance to use the swimming pool/steam room/gym in the hotel with being so busy! In regards to the room, a lovely big and comfortable bed, clean room, and love the added extras ( ie Sky TV, Elemis bath products, complimentary refreshments and cute rubber duck). Staff on reception, in the dining area, and cleaners all very warm and friendly. As quite a new hotel there were only a couple of things missing which would have been nice ie a rail next to the sink in the bathroom for a hand towel, and a couple of draws for clothes. However, this wouldn't stop me from staying again, just a couple of touches would be nice. Thanks to all at Apex for making our visit to Bath so lovely! I hope we see you again!

Great hotel in Bath City. Walking 3-10 min distance to main attraction, shopping and restaurant. Well decorate in classic old style but very clean. Good breakfast and service.

Hotel is a standard Hitlon Hotel in Bath. Location is convenient and there is no surprise for the room or for the breakfast. It is a big hotel so not very warm in terms of welcome or breakfast ... but it is comfortable. SOme regret is internet is not free and expensive. However, you can connect in the lobby. Also parking is very expensive.

We bad a lovely overnight stay at Bailbrook Lodge. From arrival to departure the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although only a few hundred from the main road it was very quiet. There is a bus stop close to the hotel but we walked into Bath along the canal which took about 45 minutes and was very pleasant & interesting watching the canal narrow boats manoeuvring through the locks.we stayed in room 33 on the second floor ( no lift) which was not a issue for us but could be if you have mobility problems, so would recommend contacting the Lodge before booking with regards a ground floor room. Our room was comfortable & very clean and we would definitely stay again when visiting Bath or the surrounding area.

Perfect location though and easy access to city center of bath. Service was great and very helpful. No elevators, wifi, and dining area is closed, but the bar was open and it was fairly cheap. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and spacious, with a 4 poster bed with lovely bedding, tea and coffee facilities, and there was a bathtub. Over all we had a nice time staying at Red car hotel.

Everything here was amazing!! Service was thoughtful and staff were so kind that they kept the suitcase for us more than five hours! Our room was No.14. I have to say the facilities here were much better than we thought before. It was clean, quite and cozy. The lovely room even served us a digital audio and a coffee machine. Also, the location was really safe and convenient. Surprisingly, staying in this hotel could also get some discount and reward for restaurants, spa and museums in Bath. Sincerely, I'd like to recommend this hotel for all visitor to Bath.

the location could be considered far given that Bath is a small place, the hotel could be reached in 10-15mins walk. As we arrived we discovered a bus stop right in front of the hotel heading to train station so it won't be a problem leaving with heavy baggages. We arrived pretty late after 8pm, but the host was still there for us which we appreciated. The room had all we need and comfortable except the hair dryer didn't function. The host made the breakfast for us in the morning and we enjoyed it. When we booked the hotel there wasn't any review for reference which made us doubted, but now I would say the stay was enjoyable and would recommend it to any travellers.

Everything is great in this hotel. The room is comfortably nice, delicious breakfast, everyone in the staff is very helpful and nice, a quiet area away from the main touristy areas but just 8 minutes walk to the Roman Baths. Highly recommend to everyone wanting to visit Bath!

Overall, this is a great place to stay when in Bath. Bath is insanely expensive for how small the town is...compared to everything else in Bath this place is quite good value but in many other city it would be REALLY expensive. Something to keep in mind when planning your travels...But if you're going to visit Bath, this is the place to stay. It is a short walk less than 15 minutes from all main sites. Beautiful building, yummy breakfast in the morning, exceptionally clean and great facilities. We were on the top floor in a small room sharing a bathroom with one other room on the same floor. The shared bathroom was spotless, and sharing was never a problem.

We booked The Beau, and loved that we had a private entrance. The room looks a little smaller than I imagined through the photographs, nevertheless it was gorgeous and a very romantic room. Whilst the location is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Bath, its a lovely walk and there is also a bus service outside. The staff were outstanding and very attentive. Good breakfast, and dining room was well presented.

We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Hotel in Bath. It is very conveniently located right next to the train station, making the location very good for us. It is also so close to a lot of the sites of the city. The highlight was the breakfast, which was absolutely amazing! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Bath.

We stayed at the Brooks guest house as a base for a weekend break to celebrate my 40th and to make a start on Christmas shopping in bath as the shopping areas accommodate all needs in a concentrated area. The Brooks guest house is located a close 10mins walk from the main centre and easily within comfortable walking distance so No need to worry about parking or taxis extra. We hit the town on the Friday night and found some lovely pubs with great atmospheres and friendly people to spend some time and a host of restaurants to suit all our need with my partner being a vegetarian and myself a big meat fan it can sometimes be hard to find a balance. We spent all day Saturday from 10am till 7pm shopping around bath and was happily within a close enough distance to return to the guest house to off load shopping bags on 2 occasions during the day. Bath is a city of beauty and endless pretty streets of every type of shop to suit everyone's pocket (ARMARNI TO PRIMARNI ) - (H SAMUALS to GOLDSMITHS) - (CURRYS TO BANGER OLSON) they have the full range from high end designer to normal every day high street bands.

Booked for two nights and needed another night, Tim sorted, very accommodating. Bathroom was very clean, however only single taps for hot and cold. Location was very quiet despite us having a front room. There is parking on the street and some parking on site, parking was never an issue during our stay. We chose to drive into the city centre, as its a long walk. Parking in Bath central is in long stay carparks which was never an issue, but the charge depends on which carpark you decide. There's also a bus along the road of the guest house. The bed was comfortable but there is no air cond, the windows open wide and there was generally a breeze. Take advantage of the discount tag on the room key ring, both restaurants we used were very obliging and discounts available into the roman baths.

If you want to visit Bath but avoid the crowds, expensive city centre hotels and all the hustle and bustle then The Waterhouse is for you. Located in peaceful countryside just a 10 minute drive into the city centre with clean and spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, good facilities and free WiFi. Best of all - total quiet for a good nights sleep. Accommodation is 'room only' and we did not sample the breakfast as we left early but the menu looked good. There are some award winning, highly recommended pubs nearby (try the Wheatsheaf) if you don't want to return to Bath to eat in the evening. All in all a very pleasant stay and we plan to return for some walking in the area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Windsor Guesthouse. Greeted with coffee/tea and friendly staff who helped to bring our luggage to our room. The rooms were beautifully designed, clean, comfortable, and home-like. Walking distance to city center Bath. Worth the stay.

We stayed for two nights at The Abbey room and it was wonderful. The service was very good. Upon arrival we were greeted and staff helped us with our car as the parking at the hotel were full. You can park the car at the street lots but you will need a parking permit which can be obtained from the hotel. We were shown to the room and were given an orientation to the room. The room was spacious. It was decorated in traditional English style and the owners spent a lot of time on the details. The room was on the second floor and faces the garden. It can be a little warm in the evenings as the sun shines directly into the room. We asked the hotel for a fan and they kindly obliged with one. Breakfast was excellent. You can choose items from the menu and also take items from the buffet table although the choices for the buffet table may not be much. Make your way down early for breakfast as the dining room can be full if there are a lot of guests and you will need to wait for them to finish. Location was just fantastic. It is a short 10 minutes walk to The Pulteney Bridge, Bath Abbey and Roman Baths. There are lots of restaurants nearby too serving multi cultural cuisine such as Italian and Thai food. The Bath Bowling Club is just next door so you might catch a glimpse of the bowling games in the evenings. It was our first visit to Bath and to us The Ayrlington was one of the attractions of the city! What we liked: 1) Location of hotel 2) Friendly and helpful staff 3) Nice breakfast What we disliked: 1) Parking space may be limited but can be managed by off street parking 2) Direct sunlight into the room may make it feel warm in the afternoon but you can ask for a fan

Actually I and my friend booked 3 hotels in Bath during this trip, after we tried these 3 hotels, we both agree Macdonald is the best one, beautiful garden, very friendly staffs, everything was perfect, we had great time there. definitely we would like to stay Macdonald more nights if we could be back! BTW, Mr. Lawrence help us a lot, thanks!

This is a great hotel in Bath. The service is outstanding. They sent us welcome email, there's a welcome drinks, breakfast is very nice home cook and unlimited! The room is so lovely with full amenity. Staffs are excellent, gave us advise and very welcoming. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Bath, this is the one.

A hidden gem, we booked into here on advice from a colleague and we definitely do not regret it! The most amazing welcoming place with gorgeous rooms and fantastic staff - we had three rooms and all slept like babies. Tanya and Leah could not do enough for us and treated three strangers like long lost friends rather than hotel guests. Greatly appreciated after a long hard day of travel and work - if I’m ever back in Bath I’ll certainly be returning! Thank you ladies

A very positive experience, the rooms were of a good size and the location was good. Pity there was no breakfast and no one on site to ask any further questions.

I like the close proximity to the city centre where the Roman Baths, Pump Room, Fashion Museum and Royal Crescent are located. Moreover, the hotel is so close to the supermarket, Sainsbury, and that is certainly a plus point as we needed to shop for snacks and drinks to bring along for our driving holiday.

I LOVE this place. It was my first time renting a single room with shared toilet/shower. I was worried but it was GREAT! The building is old but very nicely refurbished. Excellent location! I got the best night of sleep I had my whole trip and the breakfast was better than the large hotel chains I had stayed at. If (hopefully when) I return to Bath, I will definitely want to stay here again.

Lovely modern room in a classic pub. Good food and attentive staff combined with comfort and quality.

everything has, they even offered free coffee and tea.The price is worth . The location is nice. But if you want to put your luggage before or after check in, you need to pay. Because downstairs is bar, so at midnight is noise. Anyway it is quite good place to stay one night in Bath.

Unfortunately only stayed one night! From checking in to leaving the staff are amazing, polite and attention to detail was second to none. Valet parking was a massive plus. Lovely spacious rooms. Would definitely stay again. Great location to all that Bath offers.

I loved everything about the place. The uneven floors, the cosy room, the beautiful view behind the hotel and the history of the place. Would definately stay there again if given the opportunity to visit UK again. Food was delicious...i must day the best deep fried squid I have ever tasted and the staffs were very welcoming and nice. Was glad of the choice of accomodation made.
