The Bogor Botanical Garden (including the Zoological Museum inside it, and also the Presidential Palace) as well as the Jungle Recreation sites turn out to be quite close to the city center, and this is an advantage to travelers who want to visit tourist resorts mentioned above.
However, street signs showing the directions to different destinations should be added.
The city is not too far from Jakarta city, but it is a different environment. Many attraction places to go, such as Botanical Park, Presidential Palace, Jungle Park, Culinary (specific food), factory outlets, Bag industries, fresh fruits and vegetables, etc.
Small city but nice and there are so many restaurants there with delicious culinary. You will also see the historical place like Bogor Palace and botanical garden who built by Thomas Stamford Raffles (Governor General of England).
For people who loves shopping it will be great as there are so many factory outlet there.
Many things you can do in bogor such as: shopping to outlets around bogor, shopping any kind of bags at tas tajur ( bags outlet), cullinary with traditional tasty food, see botanical garden, city with beautiful mountain view,
Bogor has no many attractions, just the botanical garden, presidential palace and the Taman safari, however the area has good hotels to relax by the golf courses and escape from the warm weather of Jakarta.
The traffic to get there can be really an issue
This city famous as the rain city as it always rain every day and the food there was delicious. There is also a big national park called Bogor Botanical garden that you can visit with the mmuseum.
There is also Bogor Palace, Pura Taman Sari, Mount Gede Pangrango National Park, Cilember Waterfalls, Jungle Land amusement park. It's also near to go to puncak from bogor. You will love to go there as there is a lot of nature place for refreshing.
Bogor botanical garden is recommended place, if you visit Bogor. But be ware about traffic condition, Bogor currently crowded because of small public transport namely Angkot.
I love this city, with a lot of attractions, such as Botanical Garden, Safari Garden, Puncak, Flower Garden in Cipanas, Bogor Palace, The Jungle, Jungle Land and many more.
Bogor also well known for The City of Culinary, a lot of traditional and unique food we can find in here. Asinan Bogor Gedong Dalem, Roti Unyil, Toge Goreng etc.
The city's traffic is really terrible, awful, and worst !! The city's development is too slow. The Ethnobotany museum is horrible, dark and musky, very suffocating and hot.
The artifacts are lame (not an art lovers). I love Peta Museum better than Ethnobotany Museum.
Bogor is near enough to Jakarta and offers comfort temperature. With a world renowned botanical garden and a presidential palace (including massive herds of tiny deer).
Bogor is renowned for having a wide variety of cuisine and also offers sporting and amusement park and other recreational activities.
Great place to visit. Come and enjoy the nature at Bogor Botanical Garden & Taman Safari Great food to eat : Pondok Soto Ibu Rahayu, Ngohyang Gang Aut, etc
Great place to find many different kinds of local foods and culture. Bogor botanical garden is the must place to visit if you're looking for refreshment.
Many great place to find great food and beverages - from easy snacks to great main courses. Some place offers great view of nature and nice cool air. If you want to visit here, make sure understand the traffic situation, because the traffic jam could be very terrifying - it could take hours.
Bogor is only 1 hour drive from Jakarta and you can find the good holiday experience. the food is fair enough with lots of restaurants and cafes/warong.
but the traffic is bad since there is so many public transportation / angkot alighting and boarding passenger anywhere (not at the stations)
You Can see Botani and Zoo around here, Some Shopping Mall and Restaurant which serve good food. Its local Food which rare to find in other city
Bogor is a good option if you would like to go for shopping, especially for factory outlet, and find it cheaper than another place else
Bogor is really nice city to visit. You can have culinary tour around bogor, and there are some nice places to go for shopping as well.
.. Worth to visit..
Many restaurant in this city, people from jakarta often go to bogor on saturday or sunday. So the road traffic will be a bit crowded.
Nice city, it has anything to escape from routinity from mall to factory outlet, and lot of unique culinaries that you should taste
This City is a Fresh Aired City, U might want to stay longer :) the food is great the shopping in the factory outlets is awesome!!
The Bogor Botanical Garden should not be missed. There are also some great restaurants with a great variety of Indonesian food.
Bogor is very close to Jakarta, not counting the potential traffic jam it would take around 1 hour to reach city center.
Weather however could be a problem as it can change from heavy rain to blinding hot ness in an hour. Places I would recommend is the Jungle Land, Kebun Raya Bogor, and If you wish to buy some snacks then Venus "Roti Unyil" is one of the most favorited place to go, also Go Hiong Gang Aut on Jalan Surya Kencana.
Bogor has very nice food and crowded by public transportation. seems the road is small but the vehicle is too much .
Bogor is only 1 hour from Jakarta, has a lot of place, spa, factory outlets that can make you full trips & nice stay
Apart from Kebun Raya Bogor, bakeries and restaurants, I don't know of many good reputable attraction sites here.
The city is just too congested. But Rancamaya area is way better as it is far from all those busy traffic jam, it is fairly quiet, suitable for those seeking tranquility and for retirees.
Many great food in this city, you can try some of this restaurant such as: Bumi Aki, Kedai Kita, Cimory, etc.
This city is great for foodism and also great for fashion shopper, it has many choices of factory outlets
The location is not far from Jakarta but we can find many differences in Bogor, like a weather and foods
Bogor was once a charming hill town, an hour south of Jakarta and located between two scenic volcanoes.
THe volcanoes are still there, but the charm has been replaced by incredible traffic, chaotic streets, pot-holed sidewalks (not to mention the streets). Its enduring charm is the Bogor Botanical Garden, one of the gems of the east, founded by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819. Tremendous diversity of plants of all sorts, interesting paths, well curated, and a source of valuable scientific knowledge. The university and Centre for International Forest Research give the town some intellectual life. When the toll road first connected Bogor to Jakarta, it was a boon to be able to get into town in less than an hour. But with Jakarta's cancerous growth, it now takes three hours to get to the airport from Bogor, making travel bothersome.
Value for Money, The Golf Course is very nice and all of us enjoy playing golf at Klub Golf Bogor Raya.
old city, crowded, many local tastes. traffic is bit confusing yet they are friendly and reasonable
