Caen hotels & places to stay

Located close to a supermarket and quick access to roads/highways leading to various spots in carentan. Caen city Centre was maybe a 20 minute walk so pretty ok. Room was decent, clean, a small kitchen perfect for preparing light meals. Good soundproofing from the other rooms and a decent tv. Kinda like reliving my student days:)

Simple in all regards. Recent refurbishment has greatly improved it since our last visit. No frills, just a nice little hotel offering clean, comfortable bedrooms and continental breakfast, located ideally (almost) on the Caen peripherique.

Our room was rather dark and dingy although it was given to us because we checked in early and we were told they would change us to a more modern room if we wished.

There was nothing fancy about this hotel. It was well located for someone needing an affordable place to stay while traveling in Normandy. It was clean and a good value.

I booked a room through agoda and tried to contact the owner for more information. However, the owner responsed in French a few days later. After charging the credit card for my room, the owner sent an email in French for a code the enter the building and the room. During my stay, I sent email and message asking for more info, but no answer. So be prepared for French if you stay here. Nevertheless, the room is nice, clean and at good location.

We were going to festival beauregard - great little hotel if you just want to stay nearby. Has aircon, but barely worked. Arrive at 3pm and had to wait an hour for the room to be ready. Reasonable bed and good parking - much better than a tent!!

We booked online a family room for 31 euros. We paid 5 euros each for breakfast. It was great value for money. The hotel has no staff after 11 each day til 6pm, which we found unusual, but the check in service at the security gate was very easy, so we got our key card to our room and were able to get in without issues. There are plenty of eating places within 2 minute drive. Would definitely stay again!

Clean, modern comfortable room. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but I suspect for most people it would be ok. Close to a restaurant, gas station and a small mall you can get food. Breakfast available at a very reasonable price of about 7 euros. I was not able to take advantage of it so dont know the quality of food.

Comfortable and hussle free. Auto check-in. 3 beds in one room very cheap and recommended. Value for money..

We took the train from Paris to Caen. We had rented a car through thrift which was a few minute walk from the train station. The hotel was another 2 minute walk. It was located at the edge of the city with an easy walk to the "old section". It also was directly across the street from the L'Orne River. We parked the car in the hotel lot that was secure and reasonably priced. As this was an apartment style hotel, the room was well equipped. Food shopping was a few minutes in any direction. As we were there fore D-Day remembrances, we were within 1.5 hours of any site. We were also within two hours of Mont St. Michele. Using a car in this area was easy with all the major sites well marked and the directions clear. We would be remiss if we did not mention Vanessa and Laura, members of the staff, who were extremely helpful during our 8 night stay. In fact, they were patient with our French and easily moved between French and English. They helped make the stay enjoyable and we came to rely on their recommendations.. They also did some research for us and made recommendations on a wide variety of topics. They also informed us of places not to spend time visiting. The price per night was reasonable and facility very good.

This is a small hotel attached to a small diner. The absence of musty smell was the first thing that impressed me. Although it was not new but everything is clean and neat. The staff spoke various levels of English but they were all super nice and helpful. The morning staff even went through the trouble tans ran to a shop to help us with our data plan purchase. Good place for a short stop.

small rooms, but convenient to stay. lots of parking space. the hotel is a 5 min drive from the centre of caen and arround the corner of caen memorial.

My trip to Caen was motivated by a desire to see more of the D-Day invasion area and staying at the Ibis gave me an opportunity to be in the city and on the bus quickly without worry. It is comfortably close to the old part of town and I was delighted to stay there. Both night and day staff were very helpful in assisting me in getting to see much of what was my reason for being in the city. I could have done it on my own but their assistance made it far easier for me. It was a fine stay!

Excellent value for money. Breakfasts good. Plenty of food, although typically French ie bread, cheese, ham, jams, cakes, fruit, fruit juice. Tea, coffee and chocolate made specially - no machines! Rooms compact but plenty of storage space. Would have appreciated a shelf in the shower for soaps etc Within walking distance of station and town centre. Has its own car park. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay with use of spa facilities. Don't miss the restaurant as it's a dining experience to remember. Great attention to detail and lovely staff. A bit of a drive out of town but well worth it and free parking

Slight mix-up over our booking, which had been done online, but they sorted it out and gave us two comfortable and nice rooms. It is an excellent location -very close to old Caen and just by the market, lots of restaurants etc nearby. That was also the only disavantage as it was a bit noisy in the evening. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We recommend this hotel if you're sightseeing or if you have appointments with OFII. It's a 3 minute walk to the medical centre, 5 minute walk to the chateau and the main pedestrian shopping centres. We are used to king sized beds so we booked twin beds instead of the double, beds were small but comfortable, the room was as expected for such a small price. As this is an old french hotel the bathroom was also as expected, quite small(tiny) very old and dated BUT clean. The optional breakfast was more than enough, pastries, cereal,ham, cheese,baguettes, juice and hot drinks as well as yoghurt and fresh fruit - only 7€ each. We will definitely be staying again. (Parking around the corner is by meter but is free between 7pm and 9:30am. We put €2 in at 5pm gives you 2.5 hrs so we were fine until 10:00am and at 10:00 another €2 covers until 2:30pm because it's free from 12:00 - 2:00 as wel)l.

the hotel was near to the train station, within walking distance, as well as near tram and bus lines, which made traveling easy. The best part about the hotel was the staff; they were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, whether arranging for an early morning breakfast before a day of exploring or washing our clothes because we did not have enough warm weather clothes for the cool temps we experienced.

If you are on a trip where you want to see all the WWII historic sites, this hotel is a fine starting point for all your tours. Caen is a lovely city and you are right in the middle og everything.

only comment for the back office service - Our flight was canceled base on the bad weather in east asia, and we need to rebook 1 more night as we came earilyon Sep 13. we sent a revision request to agoda and Paix, but no one reply us(both agoda and Paix, until now OCT8) . So dont expect you will get any service. location is good (near to outlet, within 5 min), many street parking nearby.

Both large bed and single bed are comfortable. Room is clean. 15 mins drive from Caen town center.

Amazingly friendly and helpful host! WONDERFUL fresh, homemade breakfast worth every penny. Incredibly comfortable bed and sofa bed for our child. Great black-out curtains and climate control and soft towels. Perfect location in the center of Caen. Would recommend this hotel to anyone but especially families with children!!

Very comfortable room and bathroom. An good breakfast was available at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very close to railway station and buses including Portsmouth ferry. Some work going on across road to upgrade tram tracks but looks well advanced and would provide convenient travel around city when complete

We stayed for one night only and the staff were great. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Rooms rather small but breakfast was nice.
