Copthorne Cameron Highlands

"It was my first time in Cameron Highlands and this hotel was a good choice. The executive room was perfect. Breakfast was great. I saved a ton of money on travel by being patient and waiting for the local bus (Regal Bus Company - an orange coloured bus). One tip I got from the driver was that the bus company doesn't work on weekends due to the intense traffic caused by local tourists and their private vehicles. So , if you want to go to Cameron Highland then please plan your visit on weekdays only. I did use a taxi a couple of times and even the taxi drivers recommended not to bother visiting Cameron Highlands on the weekends. If you are patient you can catch the local bus every hour. The Bee farm, Rose garden and strawberry picking farms are walking distance the hotel. i took the local bus to the Lavendar farm. I had to use a pricey taxi to visit the Boh tea center / estate. I did see some foreign tourists trekking to the tea estate which would be fun if you are fit and have time."

"First , DON'T COME HERE DURING A PUBLIC HOLIDAY OR WEEKEND!!! 4 and half hour jam, to move 3 km from the junction into Cameron Highlands to TANAHRATA where the hotel was. It was as if the town and the Municipal council were caught unawares, and did not expect that there would be lots of cars. Be prepared , there won't be toilets by the roadsides. Please, sort this out! Other than that, this place was really lovely. We arrived at midnight. Check in was smooth, which was so great since we were exhausted. Once at hotel- what an oasis. This was a quiet spot, away from the crowd, facing the hills and the golf course! Decor was very nice indeed, very soothing to the soul, facing the hills and the golf course (well it was green at least). Be warned that there was no lift to the rooms - had to climb a flight of stairs, and a bit of a walk. Room was huge, with a sitting area as well as a 4 poster bed. Iron supplied and all the mod cons you'd expect of a 5 star hotel. Staff were very attentive indeed- nothing was too bothersome for them. Thank you for that. The hotel arranged a tour to the tea plantation with a local guide- we managed to avoid the huge crowd with his guidance. The tea room and the reading rooms were the highlight of the hotel- we spent many hours sipping tea and having scones ! Food was of a high quality. Very good service. Very good quality furnishings. Not seen any wear and tear (well hidden). Menu was limited, spa was closed and the other restaurant was closed too but acceptable in these times of Covid. We only had one gripe and that was that there was no Malaysia flag. Given that it was the 63rd birthday of Malaysia's independence, this was not very respectful. Other than that. we enjoyed our selves and will definitely come again. But perhaps on a Tuesday."

Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands

"2 nights stay at Heritage hotel was awesome. most of the hotels in Cameron Highlands (CH) are not having sufficient parking lot. So you not to worry in this hotel as it has lots of parking lot. Located at a higher place, the surrounding is nice and cozy. We get a Superior room with breakfast included as does not want to trouble to look for breakfast early in the morning. The buffet style breakfast is not bad, mum enjoy the porridge a lot. Room is clean and spacious with balcony. This room is attached with a fan, so if you need to control the fan speed, remember to check in the wardrobe as it is hidden in the wardrobe. Do not forget to pay a visit of the garden in this hotel, pretty fresh and greeny view. If you feel like reading, you may proceed to the Library at the Ground Floor (next to the laundry). You can find English and limited Chinese books and many Japanese books. Staffs at Reception are friendly when asking for the direction to go down to the Garden. It is a nice hotel and value for money. As I do not need wifi much, I need not go to Lobby to use the limited coverage Wifi in lobby."

More about Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands is an extensive hill station in Pahang, West Malaysia that is comprised of three townships and five settlements. The towns of Tanah Rata and Brinchang are the most popular. Cameron Highlands is ideal for laidback and natural getaways due to its cooler temperatures, farms and plantations, as well as the highest point in Malaysia accessible by road.

Gunung Brinchang is set 2,031 meters above sea level, and if the views from the summit aren’t satisfying enough, a 15-meter observation tower provides vast views of the Cameron Highlands and neighboring state of Perak. Mossey Forest and the Boh Tea plantation are ideal stops when visiting Gunung Brinchang. Lovers of flowers will also enjoy this area with Robinson Rose Garden, Rose Valley, Lavender Garden, Butterfly Garden, and Butterfly Farm. Guided tours are very popular, and some can guide you to the world’s largest flower – the Rafflesia.

The town of Tanah Rata is the most important, and in turn, it boasts the best chalets and hotels in the region. Many of the properties are found within walking distance of colonial architecture, tea plantations, and Robertson Waterfall. Cameron Highlands can be reached by road, and the five-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur brings travelers through some beautiful territory.
