The hotel does need some updating but the rooms were clean, warm and contained all you needed for a couple of nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The position was excellent as we arrived late in the dark on a bus and only had to walk a few steps and we were in the warm reception. Ferry terminal only a short distance away! Breakfast had good selection and plenty of it.

What a wonderful short get-away. We were in Campbell River for a celebration of life, and this stay made the best of what was a very sad situation. The deceased had guided for Painters for a few years during his summer off time from teaching, so we felt staying here would be appropriate. A truly beautiful setting. Staff couldn't have been more courteous...might suggest keeping the music in the pub turned down...we don't need to listen to the current rock music scene when contemplating the beautiful setting offered here. The breakfast buffet, and evening dining room was terrific. Also, the room was very quiet, and much appreciated. Thank you.

This is a great place to stay for a few days. On our first morning, we woke up to see a pod of orcas swimming up the passage. The only issue is that the hotel is on a main road, and so while there are great views from the unit, there can also be traffic noise. The service and friendliness of the owners was superb.

We loved our stay at this rustic cabin. It’s set in the beautiful woods near the water. There is no shower or bath in the outhouse, but the host Doreen allowed us to shower at her lovely adjacent guest house. We had a great stay and would stay here again!

We loved it and would never hesitate to go back as well as to recommend it to all our family and friends.

This is not the newest place you could find, but that is the charm of it. We were in the older section with some log walls. Loved it.
