Cape Town Lodge Hotel
Cape Town City Center,Cape Town - View on map
"The hotel is located a few blocks from Bo-Kaap, near a hop on/off bus stop going to Table mountain and the other direction takes you to the waterfront. The staff and facilities were absolutely wonderful. The biggest surprise (we booked the suite) was the 3-level loft with full kitchen/ living room/ dining (level 1), the master bedroom (level 2) with larger closet area & master bathroom and then an absolutely beautiful balcony view. The loft (level 3) was a complete working office and sitting room with big leather chairs - awesome. Lastly the restaurant server most likely the best steaks in Cape Town - a must try for meat lovers..."

Blaauwberg Beach Hotel

"I've been looking to see the completion of this hotel for many years until I relocate to Joburg from big bay. That's why I chose to stay in the hotel and I loved every minute of it... I'll recommend it to my Joburg family and brought back all the memories of me and my family staying in Cape Town."

Victoria and Alfred Hotel
V & A Waterfront,Cape Town - View on map
"I had an excellent stay at the V&A. It has a very nice atmosphere, great food in the waterfront restaurant, fast internet, modern rooms, plus views over the mountain and waterfront if you are on the right side. Best of all is the location on the waterfront near the various free music events, the massive mall and loads of excellent restaurants. I've stayed in around 5 hotels in Cape Town on recent visits and this one is probably now my favourite for the rate. The spa is also worth a visit, though more expensive than others, they are obviously well trained and very professional."

The Onyx Apartment Hotel

"Only problem is that they don’t have showers in all bathrooms. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 attached bath. But only one had shower. Which was a big issue. In Hotel industry shower is must specially in Cape Town where people often visit to beaches and then want to take shower. "

South Beach Camps Bay Boutique Hotel
Camps Bay,Cape Town - View on map
"Stayed here 6 nights and could not have been happier. Room was modern and well appointed with a great kitchen area. Fresh bread and croissants delivered every morning and the fridge was stocked daily with food, soda, and snacks. It was so great making a little breakfast every morning in the morning! Staff and front desk was amazing! Wifi was fast without any issues. Facilities were clean and kept up, great rooftop bar and pool area to watch sunsets over the ocean. Hotel is easy walking distance to the beach, lots of restaurants, bars, and a convenience store. Getting to Cape Town and the waterfront was a quick and easy 15-20min drive. Couldn't not recommend this place more, would definitely stay here again when we are back in Cape Town!"

Hotel Verde Cape Town Airport
Matroosfontein,Cape Town - View on map
"Hotel Verde is the perfect place to stay your first night in Cape Town, and even longer. It is right across the street from the airport, but the rooms are so quiet you would never know it. This is the greenest hotel in Africa and they practice their commitment in all aspects including sourcing all of the produce and meat locally for their restaurant. We had an exceptional Italian dinner and the buffet breakfast is bountiful. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and show great pride in their hotel's commitment to the environment. This hotel has only been open for a few months but it certainly has its act together!"

Traveler impressions of Cape Town

More about Cape Town

Cape Town has quickly become one of Africa's most sought-after travel destinations by boasting excellent museums, Dutch colonial architecture, and great outdoor activities, including rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, and wildlife-spotting at Table Mountain.

Cape Town is famous for its selection of affordable guesthouses, but luxury hotels and cozy bed and breakfasts are also in full supply. Cape Town’s city center, known locally as the City Bowl, is shaped like an amphitheater and holds prominent districts like the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Street markets in the city deal in African handicrafts with a selection spanning affordable souvenirs and African-themed fashions from local designers. The cobblestone streets of De Waterkant are especially atmospheric with a dozen boutiques and a selection of trendy cafés. After a day of shopping, the best places to party in Cape Town are on Long Street or along the bohemian back alleys of Lower Main Road.

Cape Town International Airport offers connections to select cities worldwide. There are a few hotels near Cape Town Airport, but most opt for the 12-mile taxi ride to the City Bowl. Transport options within the city include commuter trains and taxis.

Be sure to check out the interactive map of Cape Town for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
