Civitavecchia hotels & places to stay

Very comfortable rooms and bathroom, mostly with balconies. Great pool area - need to have a swimming cap to swim. Plenty of loungers.

We booked a room for two days both before and after our cruise, which began and finished in Civitavecchia. The hotel is well placed in our opinion as it is a short trip from the port and the area is quieter, with several good restaurants and shops nearby. On both occasions the room was roomy, well furnished and facing the sea, although at night the windows had to be closed due to traffic. Not a problem though as there is air conditioning. Our only criticism is with the Breakfast which was disappointing, so we went to a nearby café for coffee etc. The staff were helpful and we appreciated the fact, as our plane into Rome was very delayed and we arrived in the early hours of the morning. Overall, a good stopover, and worth the 4 stars.

Close walking distance from the train station and to the port of Civitavecchia. We found it a bit hard to find at first, it is in a large square with buildings around the square. It is in the middle part between two pizzeria restaurants. The instructions were very good on how to get in. You had to go up one small flight of stairs, when you got to the door it opened into like a kitchenette/sitting room area with 3 doors going off. When we opened our room door what a pleasant surprise- it was a beautiful big room, huge bed and lovely ensuite. The breakfast option was available at one of the cafes that is listed on the information sheet, it was just coffee/tea with a muffin or croissant. It was ideal as we were going on a cruise the next day. There is a little supermarket nearby where you can buy soft drinks or beer for a lot cheaper than the pizzeria next door to the hotel. We were charged 15€ for 2 beers and a can of lemonade. Beer in the supermarket only cost 1.79€.

This B&B is quite far from city center but very convenient from the highway to airport. The place and owner are lovely. Good breakfast is just perfect.

We enjoyed our 2 day stay here. Very clean comfortable rooms with a nice garden. Location is also very good. The owner was kind enough to give us a lift to the port when our taxi failed to shoe up. Recommended if you are staying in Civitavecchia,

Stay was convenient for an overnight stay but would have been a bit cramped for any more of a lengthy stay.

Hotel Borgo del Mare is a cozy reasonably priced hotel near the port where you could spend the night before going on a cruise. Their restaurant serves authentic home cooked meals. The staff are friendly & warm.

We booked this hotel as we wanted to stay overnight at this port city before catching our cruise. We arrived at the hotel and was unable to find a place to park our car. The staff at the counter, Giuseppe, got us to unload the luggage first and went on to give up his parking lot opposite the hotel for us while he went to somewhere further to park his car! You cannot call for any better service than this! Read on...... After checking in, Giuseppe gave us information on where to find good restaurants and where to return our rented Hertz car the next day. He suggested that we can take a 20 min walk along the beach to get back to the hotel. The restaurant was really cosy and served excellent food but we were caught in a drizzle when we were returning to the hotel. On seeing us getting a little wet, Giuseppe told us not to worry about our walk back from the car rental the next day if it is raining. He will personally follow us in his car to Hertz and send us back if it is raining. What a service. The weather was fine the next day so we returned the car and took a leisurely walk back to the hotel. It was indeed a great walk. When we arrived back at the hotel, Giuseppe asked if there is a need for him to help us to return the car and ferry us back. We really were stunned by the awesome service he is providing very sincerely. Very much appreciated. Not hesitation to recommend anyone to come and stay at this hotel!

The location of this bed and breakfast is very good - right in front of the sea and walking distance to restaurants and shops! It's really beautiful. The room was spacious, clean, and charming. And Giulia, the host is friendly and helpful. I recommend this property.

A lovely, quiet place with very clean facilities. We would definitely do it again. The staff, a man and woman, we friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

Staff is always helpful. This hotel is very suitable for those embarkation in Civitavecchia. Hotel is rather close to the cruise shuttle bus station. We walked around 8 minutes with luggages.

SottoCoperta was an absolute delight. 100m from the free shuttle bus to the ship, the room was spacious and clean. Best of all, the included breakfast was generous and covered all tastes - cook your own sausages and eggs or cereal and yoghurt. We can't give this little flat a high enough recommendation. Excellent!

We use this B&B twice for stopovers in between cruise, it was ideal for getting to the port. It was also in a great location on the sea front, next to restaurants, coffee shops & walking distance to local shops. It was within walking distance to the train station for getting the train to Rome. Sandy made us feel very welcome & made us feel like we were at home, she was also happy to give us good advice on where to eat locally.

Vista Mare is a B & B. It has two rooms, on the fifth floor of an old building, probably once a private residence. Book the Mare room as it is on the corner and has views down the beach promenade, and over the old fort across the road. Bathroom facilities are shared. it was not a problem for us as the first night we were the only guests. It is basic accommodation, but spotless. breakfast is basic continental. There is a McDonalds on the ground floor. It is only a 100 metre walk to the free bus shuttle to the cruise terminal. Flavia is the proprietor. Let her know your arrival time especially if you will be arriving late.

Great place to stay, very clean, very friendly staff and great location especially before going on a cruise.
