Coventry hotels & places to stay

This is really a "get what you paid" situation. As compared to other hotels in Coventry, Britannia is slightly cheaper, which means you can't expect too much from it. Just as what mentioned by the other reviewers, the furniture in the room are old and run-down. I have a torn sofa and a wardrobe that can't close well in the room I stayed. However, it has the basic necessities that you need, such as a hair dryer and basic toiletries such as soap and towels. With such run-down facilities, Britannia survived because of its excellent location and friendly staff.

Perfect for a game at Coventry ? Only downside is no free parking but still not expense to park in grounds car park! Near retail park with usual places to eat, casino has food and drink as well as hotel bar! Nice breakfast

a great stop over whilst we visited the Coventry archives - the royal court hotel gave us comfy beds in massive room with kettle and ensuit. we used the carvery dinning option which was delicious and could go up for more as we wanted! breakfast was included and again plenty of choice and eat as much as we wanted. the staff were helpful, polite and bantered well with us! will be staying here again when the opportunity arises!

It was quite a good stay. Only drawback is relyin on uber becomes difficult because it is on the ourskirts of coventry and closer to birmingham. So getting a can was hard. Breakfast choices were also less. A hotel withour hot chocolate?! But the minute drawbacks aside, cozy place for pple away from outside world.;)

The hotel is within walking distance to Coventry Station. You might want to walk a little bit to find restaurants. The building is a little bit old, but the rooms and the bathrooms are quite big.

Check in was efficient and quick, but there was no queue. I was lucky to get a refurbished room, though they had an electric heater plugged in the room which seemed strange. After turning on the A/C unit it made a loud squeaking noise so I was glad to have the radiator. The windows do also open. There were all the amenities you'd expect from a hotel room, iron, ironing board, tv (though the hotel interface is slow). Slippers and dressing gown. Bed was average, didn't seem to get on with it, nor did I with the pillows, but it wasn't bad - I just think it was one of those nights where you just don't settle. The bathroom was clean, modern and bright and there was hot water on demand

Quick check in, very welcoming, clean and I personally would highly recommend this hotel, mainly because of the staff. The staff make this hotel, top chef, lovely lady serving amazing food and Andy deserves a pay rise. Kind regards Darren

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. I have stayed there before and will definitely return - soon!

Stay was very relaxing, parking available, very quiet in a large park and food was good. Everything we expected and some more.

The site is a bit worn down - but for the price I wasn't expecting the Hilton Hotel. It wasn't bad - just dated. That being said, it was very clean, and I had an enjoyable stay. I little niggle was the lack of iron/ironing board as I was business travelling. As far as I know this service could have been provided upon asking - I did not ask. I was however very impressed with the Service. My connecting train to Coventry was late, and I ended up arriving on site later than the check-in cut off time. Alan (staff) stayed behind to let me in (I assume he wasn't paid for this as it was after his work hours!). I could not be more thankful, as its the last thing you want to worry about after a days travel. I would heartily recommend, and would stay here again. Thank you Alan.

no air conditioning,can hear the noise next door and the location is far from the coventry train station

I stayed at the hotel with my parents. The room is rather small for 3 people but it's bearable for a night before flying off to the airport. The room was clean and hot shower was stable. The only bad thing about this airport hotel is that it has no elevator. With big luggages, it was very difficult to take them up and down the small staircase.

The floor wasn't really clean, and the window couldn't be closed. Heating and hot water was fair. The bed and the quilt werent as horrible as the previous reviews conclude. Nice pricing and nice location. I stayed for one night, so everything was all right.

We stayed here on Sat night as we were going to a concert in Coventry. Easy to find. Very welcoming. They are in the process of re-furnishing and the bar/ restaurant areas are stunning. Rooms a little tired but are due to re-furbed. Nice and clean. Beds very comfy. Everything you need and staff are very happy to oblige. Ate dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and breakfast the next day which was superb. Couldn't fault our stay at all and is amazing value for money! 😃

Very pleasant and clean hotel. Breakfast excellent, all freshly cooked to order plus choice of cereals, fresh fruit , yogurts, croissants, crumpets etc. Nice reasonably priced meal in restaurant next door. Will definitely return!

Our stay was really good overall, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. My only critisism would be, that on our last night at the restaurant, we waited an eternity for each course, in fact one of our starters came out 10 mins after all the rest, and the chef apologised, but then blamed the waitress for a clerical error. We entered the restaurant at 8.15 pm and we were served our desert at 10.20 pm, that was not good in my opinion. PS if you like a drink bring plenty of money with you, cos you will need it.

I stayed here for work and was pleasantly surprised. Stayed for 6 days and was given a lovely room above the old mill wheel. Room had nice river views from the windows and was tastefully decorated and comfortable. Room was nice and warm during the icy cold UK weather outside. Very comfortable bed and room size was good too. Lovely hot showers in the evening and morning. Breakfast was very good, however the quality and size of the "Full English" varied with the cook on duty. My first breakfast on a Sunday was very nice. The lovely lady in the morning was very pleasant and helpful. Food here in general is very good and staff are eager to please and chatty. Excellent selection of beers and drinks to wind down in the evening. Pub bar is popular with locals and visitors alike. Not in central Coventry, so you need a car. There is a bus service too but not frequent. Good access for Warwick, Stratford, The Cotswolds or anywhere in "The Heart of England". Would I stay again? "YES", overall very, very pleased and worth the money. Will go back there for sure.
