The town is small but nice, some places in the Philippines are chaotic but Dipolog is much more settled, also Dapitan is near,10k,and there is an amusement park and an adventure park, also a historical area.
The countryside is beautiful.
i stayed in dipolog for 5 days and manila for 10 days on this trip. i wish i spent all the days in dipolog the town was much nicer quiet and friendly, and much cheaper.
the beach was my favorite clean and beautiful warm water that was so clear and clean smelling you might try to drink it if you forget it was salt water.
It was only a night stay as we have to go to Dakak in Dapitan the following day. But I can say the city of Dipolog is very clean and people there are very nice.
You must visit their boulevard at night with restaurant on the side and enjoy grilled food for dinner. It's beautiful for walking as well in the morning... loved it!
apart from sunset boulevard, there does not seem to be a huge number of attractions. Yet there is no doubt it is a very pleasant place to spend some time.
The people are friendly too.
Dipolog exceeded my expectations. Compact, clean and very convenient. The facilities of the city are easily reached via the tricycles that are all over.
Traffic is free flowing. Banks abound so easy financial transactions via ATMs conveniently located all over the city. A very clean wet and dry market. Delicacies from the sea abound. What we city dwellers serve for feasts are common table fares here. The place is inexpensive. Booking a hotel via Agoda is the way to go. The seminar we attended at the Top Plaza hotel was well-appointed and the service staff very attentive to our needs.Coffee and snacks were abundant. The hall was comfortably cool and the sound system was trouble-free. The roads of Dipolog are first rate. The airport was compact and secure.
Dipolog is a perfect place to just sit back, relax and appreciate the beauty of the city. You'll be taken back to your roots and enjoy simple living.
You can spend a day or two at the beach or just appreciate the culture within the city. The boulevard is also booming with new businesses so you can still spend your night there if you want to enjoy and have a great night out.
This is a safe city and has the basics - the one problme is that it is growing and the internet service is really behind what it should be.
Thar is a big negative if you want to do your business there. But otherwise nice city.
Dipolog City is fast urbanizing. It is surrounded by mountains at the background and the clean, calm and beautiful sea at the foreground.
It is near (10 KM) historic city of dapitan (more beautiful than dipolog), where the Jose Rizal shrine is located and the place he was exiled for 4 years.
It's a strange city. I felt that the area around Top Plaza was not safe to be out at night, but hotel staff assured me that it was safe.
Streets are not well lighted. I really did not see much of the city.
Clean the people was nice and friendly. The city is safe to stay you can observe the cleanliness and the people have a strong community.
I like the city because they are smoke free and Heath conscious.
lots of churches and history for the philippines there. rizal was exciled there and there is his musiam and houses he lived and worked.
very nice place to go. nice park there too.
Zamboanga, considered as Asia's Latin City, though most of them speak at their mother tongue they still know how to speak English
Dipolog is a very clean but poor city. It is also a very safe city. Almost all transportation is by inexpensive motorbike trike.
Prices are much lower than in other cities and this has drawn more retirees each year who find permanent residence there. As evidence of the growth of Dipolog, two very modern hotels have just been opened and serve better quality international cuisine. It is still very much like the Phillipines used to be.
Many of people has a bad immpression of this City because of the bombing happens sometimes, but when I git there its safe.
There are lot of police and military people that is on duty. Zamboanga is a peaceful plac to travel.
A very friendly Provincial town with none of the huge malls you find in other cities, it has an excellent fish market.
The main attraction is Sunset Boulevard which attracts many people during the evenings, who are out for a stroll along its length or just to dine at any of the numerous BBQ vendors. I liked Dipolog it is a clean town and the friendly people obviously have a pride in its appearance.
