"Located about 20 min walk from train / 15 min walk from bus stations close to the center of town, this hostel has the makings of a good stay. The manager is friendly and helpful, the kitchen and communal areas large and comfortable. The downside to my stay - I was put in a room on the street side of the building so the noise from the traffic and drunk people walking in the street went on throughout the night. Also, the room was off of a corridor and didn't actually have a door so noise from people inside the building too. I didn't get much sleep at all. Other people in another room facing the street complained about noise too. Also, the women's bathroom had windows looking into the courtyard area and other dorm rooms so there was no privacy. I came out of the shower and could see a man in another room looking into the women's bathroom. Awkward!! I had booked three nights and checked out after one night. Checked into a much quieter hostel with much better facilities. Wouldn't recommend. "

"We were a family of 4 with two children of 1 and 4 year old. We didn’t feel comfortable on the common areas due to the COVID current situation. There seemed to be no extra care. The swimming pool was overcrowded. Other hotels have bookings for the pool and it’s not possible to stay all day. There was no safe distancing. At breakfast time there was the same issue. Although there were bookings it seems to allow way to many people at the same time. Although the hotel is good I will not return during the COVID crisis. "

"This is a perfect location for old Evora, but you must ask for a large room that is quiet. We booked through Agoda and requested a large room (my husband is 6'5" tall) and were shown to a very small room that was noisy and smelled very musty of mold. We were told that it was 'a better room' but further investigation of the hotel revealed that it was not truthful. I don't like not being told the truth, so they don't get as good a rating as I would have liked. The breakfast was simple and nicely presented, we had plenty to start our day. They took care of parking our rental car, especially important in the old city. Classic historic property, but you must be specific about the room size and quality."
