Florianopolis hotels & places to stay

Geckos is a typical hostel, I've stayed in better BUT I've certainly stayed in a lot worse. It's clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly, probably some of the most helpful I've found in awhile. Breakfast is all you can eat and there's fruit, cereal, tea/coffee, bread, and ham and cheese. Far more options than most places give and again, all you can eat! The location is good for downtown and it's easy enough to hop the bus to the beaches. It's a very social hostel which is great and I've heard on the weekends it can get rowdy. Like most hostels the facilities could use some help/fixing, but overall it's great and I'd stay here again.

My stay at the Sunset Strip was great! The location is really easy to find with the directions they supply for you! You have your own private, very quiet beach and a great fulfilling breakfast in the morning. I had a great stay, the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Thank you!

This place is an absolute must if you want location' peace and quiet and value for money. I was surprised at the low price for quality place to stay. Neemias is 1 of the best hosts iv come across and im constantly in hotels and accommodation around the world because of work. He will help you get the most out of your stay in floripa' plus lend you his surf board and bike if you want. Id definitely stay here again. Massive thumbs up from me.👍

They have a really good spot, really close to the beach and to all the restaurants. Amazing rooftop to chill and relax Breakfast was the best I've ever had in South America so far. Would definitely Coke back to stay there again.

This is a worn and run down hotel. The rooms are tired. Breakfast regular at best, - but hey they had availability during peak season so no complaints.

the hotel is located in the north of the island and with 2 buses you can cheaply get here.the staff were excellent and the hotel is very modern, the breakfast selection can rival that of a 5 star resort. the beach is a 2 minute walk although its better to jump on a bus and head the a eastern beach.

The hotel was a ten minute walk uphill from both the long distance and local bus terminals so it was easy to get around the island. The staff was very helpful in all ways. Our room on the 9th floor was clean and despite the staff saying it had no view, (it didn't look over to the mainland), we still had a good view over a small part of the city. It wasn't a big room by any means, but of adequate size. Breakfast was good, but lunch, even better. They serve organic food at lunch and it was easily the best value buffet we had in Brazil. That explained all the locals flocking in for lunch.

Nice locale that is about a 10 minute walk to Centro where many stores and lanchonetes are located. There is also a supermercado up the street from the hotel called Angeloni. The hotel room was clean and the internet speed was accurate. Also abiut 20 kinutes by feet there is the Beimar Shopping mall. There are bars and restaurants near there also.

affordable price and clean room with nice breakfast, the sea view is nice, but not close to Airport. Rent a car would be suggested.

Dislike the design of the bathroom in the room, it was at an angle and just looked awkward and crammed. The location was good but for the price I paid, there should at least be 1 free water bottle and free breakfast included. The room was stuffy without aircon and if I turned the aircon it would have to blow past the bathroom. There could also be more facilities for the price people pay. The menu at the restaurant was abysmal.

Very nice Hotel/resort and perfect stay for Family's. The rooms are clean and big,service is very friendly.Location is quite far from the center but easy to reach by bus and bust stop only few steps away. Very safe,no foreigner can enter this location without notice of the Hotel staff. If I have to stay again in this location, I will book again this Hotel.

This hotel is OK. Nothing wrong or bad, just nothing to be impressed about either. The decor is dated, but clean. Everything worked, - can't complain. Location on Cornich is only plus. If you need a place to sleep for the night. This fits the bill.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and had a great time. The hotel is next to the beach and there is a good restaurant next door. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is the usual bread, ham, tea and coffee with a good fruit selection. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was clean. The TV only has a Brazilian news channel but there is a communal TV room where you can watch cable. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was beautiful with only one "but". Saturday and sunday nights were spoiled by absolutely unbearable music from the beach. The cars stuffed with a lowdspeakers prefered the place on the beach nearby and even calls to police did not help much!

The hotel offers free internet and breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Though Portuguese is the main language. The room I stayed in was small but clean. This one of those hotels where you leave your room key with the front desk when you leave the hotel.

a classic sofitel experience. nice rooms, attentive staff, one could not find a better deal in florianapolis. this hotel is in the city center which could be a deterrence to some people who would like to stay right on the beach. but we rented a car and all the nice beaches are only 5-10 mins away. we went to a different beach every day and it was wonderful. some people prefer to stay on a beach front hotel but then they get stuck at the same beach every day. i was so happy to have stayed at sofitel and explored the whole island by car

Awful breakfast with cold scrambled eggs and coffee, not enough options, lack of plates and hardware. Wi-fi is very slow when we could get in, air-conditioning is old, noisy and out of maintenance. Will never go back to this hotel again!

I had a nice stay. The hotel is plain, clean, decent location and works. Its a good place to sleep and that's it.

10 min walk 2 min drive to a great beach - with restaurants room was nice and staff and owner were really friendly - breakfast buffet pretty good. Pool was being worked on and we could not use it which was a drag. No internet in the rooms. We had a nice stay - it is an oasis, a nicely designed posada in the middle of really ugly buildings

i was after the party scene in floripa so i stayed here because it was close to some of the best clubs such as pacha and posh! best meals included ever! only down is that there is no surf.

The bathroom is very simple, need to renovate. The hotel's rate is too much for what they have to offer.

From the moment I walked in the door Márcia was welcoming and wanted to make sure I had the best 2 days of my life in Floripa. She was planning my days the entire day. My favourite part about staying here was Márcia and how she genuinely cares about her guests and goes the extra mile to make them happy. She is always on call if you need anything. She caters to special requests, the breakfast was delightful! Homemade breads- exploding of guava, homage pao de quiejo and homemade croissants. Each morning you have a fresh smoothie, homemade kefir and fresh fruit. I went on a hike and she made me the breakfast of athletes to make sure I had enough protein. It was one of the most delicious omlettes I have ever had- it was made with tapioca flour. The rooms are a great size. You really feel like you are in an eco resort with all of the wood structures. She brings in her in flavor with artwork from around the world. I can’t say enough about this place- it is truly special
