Hamilton has a nice combination of plenty to do and also space to relax and feel like you are "getting away".
there is 1 begger outside the casino which is quite unsightly. other than that, had a bad car accident way back from bridal veil falls as there is a pickup truck with trailer fish tailed to my car and broke the car right front.
The gardens are nice, but the city is always much colder than other places close by, not a big fun of being cold, probably won't go back.
For a small city Hamilton has a lot to offer, some good restaurants, a great zoo, and some good sporting facilities to host events.
It is a city near to a lot of attractions like the Waitomo caves and the hobbit farm. The location is strategic if you would like to visit different places nearby.
historically rich part of New Zealand with plenty of things to see and do and great choice of eating out especially if your into indian or asia type cousine
Hamilton is a must go and it is free. Pay a visit to the Waikato Stadium when there is a home rugby game, bet you will be very much impressed by the cow bells!
