Hobart is a quaint old city in which the most beautiful sight is on entry from the north when suddenly driving into the city, the beautiful old wharf/harbor area appear out of the blue! The old buildings really make this city, with a sensible mix of modern.
Delightful place to live great ocean, river and mountain views from almost everywhere clean fresh air for a city great choice of restaurants not much for tourists 2-3 days tops
I feel that on the whole, people of Tasmania are the most friendly and are always willing to show you their city or towns.
There is so much to do in Hobart, and interests to suit just about anyone. I wish we would have had more than the 3 days we allowed ourselves, as I don't feel that we got to experience and do all we wanted during our time there.
Hobart is a really beautiful city with stunning water views around. A backdrop of small mountains and islands was just so peaceful.
Friendly & nice people. A city that is not too crowded and fast pace. Royal Tasmania Botanical Garden & Mt Nelson are quite nice to visit.
Hobart, and Tassie in general, is beautiful!! We went to Port Arthur (one hours drive) for a day trip, did a day tasting cheese at Wicked in Richmond, patting kangaroos and koalas and wombats at Bonorong in Brighton, and a magical dinner at Barilla Bay oysters - unfortunately the berry picking farm in Sorell was closed for winter.
Joined a Gray Line tour of Hobart and Port Arthur for a day and the tour to the snow-covered Mt Wellington was spectacular.
Hobart was awesome, there is alot to do there. Salamanca was cool, there markets there were great. Check out Mt Wellington if its a clear day
Port Arthur, MONA, the local zoo, Cascade Brewery, there's several relatively affordable tours all around
Hobart is a center point where you can go to other places easily, such as the Bruny Island, Port Arthur etc.
Hobart is just a city, but it can be a very good base for travels to surrounding attractions such as Port Arthur, Mt Wellington, Bruny Island etc.
Clean city, not too busy. Easy drive around the city but may have to look for parking space. A good place to be based at, and explore Mt Wellinton, Houn areas and Bruny Island.
A place to get in touch with yourself, with nature and simply enjoy being!. A place to appreciate history, culture and people.
Hobart is very lively town and nice place to stay and visit. Will definitely visit this place again.
So much to do - shopping, sight seeing, historical tours, arts, dining ..... great history, great city!
Head down to Salamanca Market on a Saturday. In the afternoon about 4pm drop into Cargo Bar and sit outside and watch the people go by.
Loved Hobart, just wished I'd stayed longer in the city. Am definitely going again to see the rest of it and enjoy the markets on Sunday.
People are friendly in Hobart. And its more convenient to travel there by car instead of taking public transportation.
Hobart is a peaceful city, very quiet during night time. A lot of good restaurants near to the pier.
Lovely to visit but not enough accommodation. Will be better in a few years as they grow more accustomed to tourism
pace of life, cleanliness, central, flat for walking. We went for fabulous breakfasts out of the hotel although theirs looked excellent , but we were recommended by Dave on the front desk to go to a couple at Sandy Bay and the walk there was beautiful and the area around the cafes was super
Hobart is the state capital and most populous city of the Australian island state of Tasmania. Founded in 1804 as a penal colony, Hobart is Australia's second oldest capital city after Sydney.
no night life here, only bar or pub. All shops closed at 17:00. Can treat as a place as relaxing travels.

Bruny island cruise. Take a ferry over and experience driving your car up to the ferry to reach the island and driving around the island to see the beaches.
We found Hobart a bit disappointing. It is expensive to park and traffic wardens patrol constantly. There’s very little to see although Battery Point is nice to walk around if you like historic housing.
It is a beautiful city, a city surrounded with water. It would be better to stay in the city to better explore Hobart.
plan ahead to see what u want to do, book things when u are there, as weather can be unpredictable, BEST COFFEE GO TO BEAUJANGLES CAFE AND COFFEE, IN ELIZABETH ST MALL DOWN FROM THE BUS AREA!
Better come in Summer, because winter is not the season for eating lobster, and vineyard is closed even in September.
