"Although the location is within walking distance to downtown and the ferry, this place needs updating. Our balcony room had a great view of the lake but we needed to get housekeeping back in to sweep off all the cobwebs everywhere. The breakfast area was very small and not much to eat either. We had a great time at the island but would stay elsewhere next visit."

"Let's start with the cons: Breakfast is included. Only problem is if you stay for several days. It is the exact same thing every day, after day, after day. (They should switch sausage for bacon, try different cereals). Pool area could use more ventilation, the chlorine cloud just hangs in the room. Pros Friendly and helpful staff. Location is great. Rooms are well kept. Coffee and tea available at front desk all of the time. Front desk sells discount tickets for local activities. Owners also own several restaurants, souvenir shops and fudge places so discounts are there. Talk to the locals for the best restaurants, knock knacks and fudge shops. "

"Pretty much in the heart of it all. Walking distance to shops and the ferry. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, shower was hot, staff was friendly. The indoor pool felt a tad cold, but it could have been because the weather was cold in general. This hotel was better than others I've stayed at in the area. I would stay here again when coming back to the Mackinaw area. "

"If you want a great location, nice to walk to park across street and view bridge (I didn't get a view room and wasn't expecting to see it from hotel), and get a great rate like we did, then go for it. Plan on eating breakfast out as theirs is the worst in a tiny overcrowded room. Young guy on staff for breakfast took 10 minutes SLOWLY and carefully stacking peanut butter and jam to the tippy top of holder, while there was NO coffee. I asked him to make coffee as we were out and no one cared about the jam (I hadn't had coffee and was more grumpy than normal! 😊) He completely ignored the request, finished his stacking, then went to SLOWLY wiping down waffle area, before starting coffee. I went back to my room to make my own coffee. Teen girls on cleaning staff were ineffective. They stood around in front hallway with their carts texting, looking unprofessional, waiting for people to checkout, while elevator, hallways, and other areas needed cleaning. Pool doesn't open until 10 AM."

"I like the facilities provided here including the breakfast. We were so tired at night and woke up late thinking there is no way we can get breakfast at this hour (It was past 10AM) but yepp we had free breakfast with freshly prepared food. I have a little disappointment over the check in and out timings because it is really short. Possibly, you may need to take a look at it again :)"
