The commercial district offers various choices of things to do and stuff to buy. There are a lot of accommodations to choose from, whether for a few nights stay or long term annual rent.
There are congested areas in the city so use that time in traffic snarls to look out your window to check for places to eat, buy souvenirs from and even look out for ads on city events. Night life thrives - avoid driving when you've had few drinks. Just my second visit to the city so not much to judge it in detail.
Most travellers come to Bahrain at the weekend to escape the hardships of restricted social lives in Saudi Arabia.
In the good old days there were many bars with cost effective happy hours. Unfortunately many of these have been closed down recently due to security issues. More up market options in 5 star hotel still exist but expect to pay 5 star prices. However if you rent an apartment you can buy your own supplies at duty free shops and make a party at home!!!after going through immigration at the airport there is a duty free shop or find several scattered across the city centre!!!
Manama is a nice city I like it but it is very expensive also not like before but still one of the best destination to visit
Clean city, you can get fun everywhere such as Marina Beach, Cinema , Lost Paradise , Wahoo Waterpark .
Well laid out and easy to navigate. Lots of malls and a great variety of restaurants. One of my favourite places to visit.
Bahrain is a great place to visit. The Bahraini people are friendly and nice. Gives the Middle East a good representation.
It was a great place to visit I think 3-4 days in the city would be great make sure you arrive on Thursday and stay until Monday or Tuesday
Manama is a small city with generally friendly inhabitants. I wouldn't recommend it for sightseeing particularly, but for shopping, dining out and some nightlife it's good fun.
its one of the most nice cities in arabian gulf , very well organized and has alot of atraction and what is most important is the people becouse they are very very very friendly and they give the full help and support if you need .
their people are really great .
Mananmma is very nice city and has alot of activites to do ,, ex: shopping , cinema , cart racing also water park .
Small country and have freedom with night life and casinos with good shopping mall and high class hotels.
The city of Manama was nice. It is not as clean as Dubai is but for a drive from Riyadh it was very easy to do and affordable.
Manama is a place for families to enjoy eating, shopping and most of all site seeing, with castles from the Portaguese age and shopping malls 2 years old, one is cetain to spend a vacation worth the money paid for in Manama
the city is small with many options for night life and day activities, just beware of some areas where political issues and protesters are violent.
a lot food choices, almost everything in Manama, night life is nice, good traffic system, reasonable prices
a lot food choices, almost everything in Manama, night life is nice, easy access to the city center mall and airport, good traffic system
Good shopping in seef mall area modern air conditioned, cinemas, international outlets. Bab Al Bahrain souk area narrow streets with old style shops and market vendors.
Bars in hotels only., plenty of them. Good choice of restaurants all cuisines available. Not many beaches available, best ones are private, ritz Carlton , Novotel
Very old but modern city, people are opened and ready to help to visitors, everybody speak good English.
It is not a big island, 1 to 2 days are enough for sightseeing. If you would like to stay longer then probably you can hit the beach or spa.
It is probably as big as Singapore. I contacted Al Kobaisi travel for sightseeing and they charge only BD55 for 8 hours. The driver is friendly. Some of the places are quite interesting but it's just my opinion.
manama is a very good city island. people there are friendly and you can enjoy the beaches, shopping and the night life in one city
The old souk at the Bab Al Bahrain is worth a visit. Juffair is new and still under development. Good restaurants and bars , beer a bit pricey , welcome to the Middle East.
It is a good vibe here, anyone that has been to Bahrain visits for freedom and fun... that is avaialable in abundance, good shopping, nice resteraunts.
Manama is a great city for those tourists whom would like to see the Arabian gulf at a closer look, have good food and certainly meet new people
a very good location where you can find every thing easly, taxis and buses can be found easily and all shoping malls and restorants are very close to each other.
.friendly and hepfull people.
Mny shopping Malls and bazar, everything is close, 10-15 minutes from the airport, most of the hotels are in manama.
Manama can get very hot during summer so limit your trip to the "off" months. Shopping, reatuarants and nightlife are the attractions for this city.
Manama is a quiet laid back city with great restaurants and shopping facilities. Very multi cultural and despite the bad international press at the moment, a safe location
Don't let what you read in the press put you off. Bahrain is still a great place and if you are sensible you can avoid any issues.
Its a hive of small businesses, with many entertainment spots to be found. It can very very pricey depenadnat on what You are looking for.
Definately know You're in a previously run British Island
