Paradise is mostly at the resorts. But the nature is different in reality than what you see in the advertise pictures.
Still every 'corner' is worth a try
MAURITIUS ISLAND HAS BEUTIFUL BEACHES, GREENERY, SMALL COUNTRY WITH ALL VARITIES OF HILLS, FORESTS, WATERFALL, LAKES & POLLUTION FREE ENVIRONMENT.
Although we stayed on the quiet and isolated east side of the island, we heard that Grand Bay on the north side was much more lively and convenient to walking and beaches.
Had the need to visit Clinic du Nord during visit. Very well equipped medical facility that provided prompt, professional, economical service immediately!
Mauritius is rich in history, and the diversity of cultures and food is fantastic. People live in peace and harmony .
Most Mauritian are very helpful, and they can understand different languages which is helpful for people from different countries when traveling.
Mauritius is a very beautiful Island. If you have a chance to stay in this island, you'd better to stay more than 10 days.
But the personal transportation is very expensive. If you want to save a time & money, you can rent a car. But the road is very narrow and it was not easy to read a sign for me. If you've got used to driving on a right side, i recommend you to rent a car.
Beaches & sun. Mix culture & religion place. Good food & nice place to visit. A lot of sugar cane & tea plantation.
National Parks, waterfalls, botanic gardens, tea plantation and factory, glass and recycling factory, crocodile park, animal park
My wife have now been there 6 times in the past 20years and we will still be coming back. Such lovely people and the food is fantastic with multiple cuisines.
You need very good directions, the signposting is not great and there are no street / residence numbers as a guide.
It is very easy to miss turnoffs. The lack of road shoulders can be a little disconcerting when driving. Easy to get lost but the locals are usually very obliging with directions.
beautiful island, people are really friendly and smily. we loved our stay there and will definitely come back
I have travelled the whole island, 7 days 6 hotels scattered in four direction in Mauritius, North and east Coast have nice and shocking sea view, also have high class hotel there, especially east coast.
North side has overnight and hot club for entertainment. West and south coast do not have amazing sea view, but quite and the top class hotel focus on south coast. If someone like Chinese cuisine, especially recommend the grand canton restaurant located in Louis port. Cantonese cuisine.
Very beautiful country, with many ways of entertainment. both for fun with sightseeing & outdoor/water activities and for quiet relax at a cozy hotel will be satisfied depend on your own preference.
Truly heaven on earth. If you love water sports like deep sea diving, snorkeling, para sailing, swimming with dolphins or just hanging out at the beach this is the place for you.
You can also rent sail boats for the day, go hiking on amazing trails. The people are friendly, things are affordable and the food is good too.
If you like beach and sun, it's a great place...but do note that car rentals/taxis can be quite expensive
beautiful with a rish cultural history. Thee beaches are simply stunning and one can swim for hours. The country is also relative safe for travelers.
Food and traveling is however very expensive
Not worth the expensive airfare. The island is a very expensive.Book ur taxi else u have to bargain a lot .
Exchange ur currency before entering mauritius .Else u wud get very bad rate (sp---indian currency). Prefer not to fly air mauritius--their call center also misguides & ask's for more money. Only 1 sightseeing trips---south island NOTHING OUT OF THE WORLD
Love the micro climate. it is really beautiful. If only the island has a bigger population, then you will be nearer to the material world.
Great retreat island.
Very beautiful country. Friendly people. Most people speak English and French. Very easy and cheap to travel by bus.
Mauritius is a beautiful island, beautiful beaches and one of the best place for holiday if you are looking beach, sea and nature.
A reallu nice destination with so friendly friendly inhabitans. Mauritius is not was I expected when I heard about this destination before.
I thought it only was All inclusive hotel and only sun and bath and expensive - I was totaly wrong in every point. Can really reccomend everyone to go to Mauritus.
The island and the people are very wonderful. we stayed at flic n' flack and had wonderful meals and enjoyed a restaurant on a cane plantation "Domain Annas" it is a must go.
there are spectacular beaches in the south, great surfing reef and awesome views from atop some of the high pinnacles, even the view of the pinnacles is breath taking.
Plenty of different beaches to visit! If you interesting in history and culture a visit to Port Louis should be included.
The sea is much beautiful and quite then my thought. Enjoyed staying here, perfect place for honeymoon
Mit første besøg og ikke den sidste på Mauritius, fantastisk og smuk ø, befolkning er ualmindelige venlige.
Excellent place to do business in.Feel secure and there is rule of law and equitable enforcement of law.
As a holiday destination, for those who can afford it financially, the island is an ideal place to relax and be with nature. As the great American novelist Mark Twain put it,God modeled paradise after Mauritius. Encapsulates my own thoughts.
A place that truly is special and magical, people are friendly, open, willing to help, a beautiful place, with many treasures, lots of history, a beauty all of its own, great to relax, to have an adventure, to meet new people, perhaps even learn a new language, lots to love, appreciate and enjoy.
Great place to teach you to slow down, each mountain has its own distinguishing feature but also a great way to point you back home. A place that is small, which allows you to be close to many things, great to go somewhere but not have to go too far to get there, nice to see that you find things here and there that are locally produced, to share in the splendour and come back richer for the experience of this place, each day is a new day to discover something truly amazing just around that next turn that you might not have expected to find a few minutes ago. Something for everyone and definitely worth exploring.
Mauritius is a hidden gem. I was surprised at the beauty of this small country. The people are very friendly and welcome you with open arms.
This was my daughter and I, our first holiday abroad and I would recomed Mauritius to every one, for diff reasons, to relax, enjoy the sea sports and all the diff attractions Mauritius offers, the people are so friendly, we will deff be back for another visit
It is so much to do that it's almost impossible to write down. If you love flowers etc you love Mauritius.
Even in the winter flowers bloom with lots of colours. Lots of temples and other nice buildnings to see and a visit to Port Louis is a must. Mauritus have so many nice beaches and the sun almost seem endless. Lots of watersports to do and nice diving sights mostly reachable by boat. Swimming with dolphins is something extra. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity from local people. Five things you have to do on Mauritius is: 1. Visit Casela park 2. Swim with dolphins 3. Snorkle/dive 4. Crocodile park 5. Take a cab trip around and see waterfalls, pikes and forrest. You might see a monkey on the road. (a hole day for 2000 MUR thats not expensive).
Very beautiful island. Bigger than what most people would think and transport required to get to most tourist areas.
A lot of South African owned hotels and shopping outlets. Excellent beaches and beautiful temples and shrines. You will enjoy your holiday!
