Great city for travelers, to live, multi cultural society, easy access and excellent food and option for stay
I was born there so what can I say! I moved 160km away for my work 50 years ago, but still enjoy visiting my State capital regularly.
Great ocean road and Philips island was fantastic. I book with Bunyip tours and their services was very satisfying.
Melbourne is a smaller vision of San Francisco mixture of culture and people great sea view and people
Awesome city to stay in. Easy to get around, always something to do, loaded with history, places of interest & culture.
Melbourne got alot of nice foods to explore especially truffles fries and pull burger. The asian foods are over-rated.
Expensive by Asian standards, Melbourne has a vast array of dining experiences, a nice casino if that's your thing (albeit with only one craps table), well organised zoos and nature experiences such as Healesville Sanctuary and the pick of them all: the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island (my opinion).
Great city with lots of fun. Enjoyed the great ocean road, phillips island, Ballarat gold mines and puffying billy.
Visit great ocean road and doing other outdoor activities during summer hot day with bright sunshine is always advised to apply sunblock cream.
Melbourne is an exciting city. The excellent public transport including the extensive tram network make it an easy city to explore.
Melbourne is a vibrant city, it has a great nightlife with something for everyone. It also has the best sporting arena's with the best of sports from Cricket to Aussie Rules to Rugby to Tennis.
Melbourne is a beautiful cosmopolitan city just that you are required to pay toll using the freeway regardless of it being weekends or holidays.
Melbourne is deservingly rated 'The Most Liveable City in The World.' It is a credit to it's city planning forbearers and the current day City of Melbourne City Council.
It was definitely a great way to understand Melbourne and some hidden and interesting café, famous buildings and the stories behind, and the CULTURE here! I’m so happy to have such an in-depth trip to the city.
culture and history is definitely Melbourne. The place is packed with histroical and great architecture.
Disliked the staff at the airport. Super slow check in at Qantas. Took us 20 minutes to get checked in.
Very cosmopolitan Easy to get around IF [and it is a BIG IF] you can master the public transport system Lots of parks - clean & green Excellent nature attractions within days drive
I thought it was much busier than I had anticipated, many more high rise buildings than expected, I possibly didn't some of the things some people seem to have been impressed by.
queen victoria market,philip aisland,great ocean road,royale botanic garden,brighton beach,state library of victoria,dfo
2 main attractions - CBD for a city type of experience (shopping, cafes, restaurants, bars/clubs and casinos) and out-of-CBD for sight-seeing (12 Apostles in Great Ocean Road, Yarra Valley for wine tasting, farm stay in dairy farms, healesville sanctuary for up-close experience with koalas/wallabies and others).
People here are friendly and polite. One peculiar thing I told my daughter that there were many graffiti everywhere you go including Govt properties like driving sign board and building and bridges.
The Melbourne I saw was old, with old buildings like the railway station and the old railway station that has been converted to a hotel but is beautiful.
Do find time to visit the 12 Apostles and take the Great Ocean Road scenic route along the coastline if you don't get too queasy in long car rides.
Melbourne is a very nice city with easyily accesable public transport. Nice food is plentiful and they are not too expensive.
Melbourne is a great city, well organised, from the minute you arrive at the airport, shuttle into the city, eating out, tours can be booked, fabulous
Once you get the hang of the street names and the free tram zone areas, you have pretty much know your way around the area.
friendly safe great food bright lights music in streets family feeling in central section good. artwork in small lanes.
Spent 8 nights in Fitzroy, just 5 minutes north of the city. Used trams and trains extensively using the easy MYKI swipe card system, cant get lost.
Negative: Smoking not restricted- so you choke eating outside - very off putting. Cigarette buds outside Victoria station downgrades the entire area and it is evident throughout the city that there isn't a smoking policy.
A great city to visit with lots to do whether business or tourist. Good transport system, though the MYKI system is a bit of a rip off for tourists as you have to purchase a card you may never use again.
