Traveler impressions of Milan
We were totally impressed. Its more romantic than paris and also a shopping heaven ! what a Great city, really!!
I will definitely visit Milan again!!!! It's amazingly enjoyable staying there especially foods and brand names in every corner.
Shopping in the city was fantastic as our last stop before heading back, we did a lot of shopping both at the groceries store as well as at the designer shops.
If you have more time, I suggest you to take Bernina Express tour St. Moritz, This tour take 13 hours trip, but really worthy even you just have 1 hour to spend in St.
Even though we only stayed in Milan for 2 nights we enjoyed it, there was beautiful things to see, great shopping.
The journey by coach from Bergamo was comfortable and efficient but like all majour cities the suburbs are somewhat grim with graffiti etc but just ignore it.
Definitely go visit the Galleria di Emmanuelle and Duomo di Milano. Alike other places in Europe, watch your bags and pockets.
You feel unsafe. Taxi drives look like zombies at Centrale. Not very polite people. Train to airport is terrible (no info, no escalators, and expensive ).
Most shops outside of Milan Catheral were closed when we visited in August. It seems that only the underground railway to the World Expo was refurbished.
I went to Milan for four days and mainly aim for the EXPO. I thought the transportation is convenient but not for disable.
Generally a nice city though the costs of living for food souvenirs seem to be a little more pricey than other cities in Italy
Its not safe to walk alone nowadays, too many beggars and immigrant in milan. Shopping district near duomo is mess, full of immigrant.
Be extra careful once u are in Milano Centrale, do not trust person who offers help to carry your luggage, they ask big money later! Poor service of station's staffs :(
Very ramantic city with fashion and shopping, you can touch if you want to shopping and prefer a history place.
Nothing special, highlighly overrated and expensive, Would never visit again nor recommend it to any of my friends/family or colleagues!
a lot of stylish shop in milan. I love milan more than rome. Beautiful store everywhere. You can get amazing fragrance and shoe variety choices
Smelly, dirty. Difficult to find public toilets. Have to use toilets at the restaurants when necessary.
Milan somehow felt unsafer than Rome though both locations demand cautious eye all the time on personal belongings when out in public.
Milano has a wealth of history, it's historic buildings, Cathedrals, etc are interesting, it has a diversity of shops, food, restaurants, cafés, it is a busy city with a police presence which makes a traveller feel safe.
Milan is a very good city for fashion shopping and also fine dining, Good for people who has deep pocket.
Milan was to my surprise the most beautifullest and cleanest city we visited in Italy. The city seemed calmer than all other cities and there was so much to see.
Vibrant city.Do not visit during peak holidays - very busy. Shopping is great and markets fantastic.
Milan is a little snob but is appealing. Streets are clean and the shops are huge. I love to go back to Milan.
Milan is a city filled with many historical buildings and religious buildings too. Very fashionable city and very chic.
Sorry to say it is a snobbish city. People are not friendly and even the waiter/waitress is not helpful especially in La Rinascente.
People are ok, the food can be expensive but cheap if you know where to go! Look out for pizza joints!
It is a beautiful city with many beautiful and historical building. A shopping heaven, price for designer brands are a lot more cheaper than in Malaysia.
First impression, very unfriendly people. Not one people are smiling and the hotel staff was worse. They have to switch off the main central aircon, forcing me to open the windows and got gitten all night.

More about Milan
The Duomo, a gothic cathedral that took centuries to build, looms over a few of the most luxurious hotels in Milan. This is the world's fourth-biggest church, and it deserves all of the attention it demands. Construction on the Duomo began in the 14th century in what is now the Centro Storico, or historic center.
The Milan shopping scene is north of the Duomo. Four major commercial avenues converge on what many would say is the world's best shopping district. Chic designer flagship stores and boutiques are widespread, and fashion exhibitions are staged on local catwalks throughout the year.
Like much of Italy, Milan is a city rich in world-class art such as the Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci.
Hotels in Milan fill quickly most times of the year, so booking early is essential.
Milan Malpensa Airport is the major international gateway in Milan, but the city also operates the regional hub, Linate Airport. A popular alternative for those traveling through Europe is to take the high-speed train to Stazione Centrale, north of the city center.
