There is something for everyone in Montreal. French is certainly an asset although most people are able to converse in English as well as other languages.
things were costy, meals at restaurants were not that good for the price People in town were very helpful
Montreal is one of the most beautiful cities in North America. It has the kind of old-world charm that you'd find in France, but also the glitzy glamor or a modern Canadian city.
So unlike Quebec Ville. Far more tolerant and cosmopolitan. It helps to be able to speak French as not all signs are in English.
Food is very good. French style mixed international food . Must go to Old Montreal that you will see real French style in Montreal!
It is a most beautiful city. A city of many things: arts, cultures, activities, theatres, dining. A most memorabe stay.
Monteal is a Europe-style city--French-speak city (90% of the people speak French). Around 550 kms from Toronto by bus.
Places t see are McGill university, mount royal park, St joseph's oratory (take a bus cost you 3$),Notre Dame cathedral, old port, science and history museum, dorchester square.
I did not know if I was in the south of Europe in a coast city or if I was in a business city. The city atmosphere is great and during summer everybody enjoys the sun.
