Hotel Amba
Hauptbahnhof,Munich - View on map
"The staff there are very friendly and they are the best staff you can ever see. Hotel are opposite to the main train station (Munich Hauptbahnhof) where you can see the train station from your room window. The room are very clean but it's a little bit small. However you still have a good space for office table with its chair. Each room has only one key which is a normal key (Not a magnetic card). Its price are very good compared to its location and the price of other hotels in Munich. Overall it's a very good hotel and I recommend it."

Maritim Hotel Munich

"The hotel is conveniently located 5 mins walk to the Munich Main Train Station (Huftbahnhof). Apart from easy connections to nearby cities, you can also travel to Salzburg using the Full Day ‘Bayern’ Train Ticket for up to 5 persons including kids below 14. Plenty of takeaway food shops and supermarket (closes at 11pm)at basement level to get drinks and Asian takeaway stir fry. There is also Burger King and Macdonalds opened 24 hours. Shops are Open Everyday. Hotel has a small swimming pool which is free to use and sauna which costs €5. Choose the rooms with bathtub to soak after Long day of walking. Only thing for me is that they did not provide kettle and room noise insulation from the common corridor was poor. Also the pillows were too flat. Windows can open for ventilation and staff were friendly and professional. Offered 2 Breakfast options - continental €.9.50 and buffet €24 for adults and kids eat for free. Anyway extensive breakfast options available at the train station. "

Hotel Laimer Hof Nymphenburg Palace Munich
Nymphenburg,Munich - View on map
"Of course, when we decided to vacation in Munich, did not know we would be in one of the worse European heat waves to hit for years—hotel does not have air conditioning but Sebastian was so accommodating with giving us an extra fan and ice when needed. The hotel is located a couple of blocks from Romanplatz with several options of trams to take you where you want and easily connects to the underground system. Hirshgarten, the largest beer garden in Munich is a short walk from the hotel and a wonderful place to enjoy local food, beer and soak in the local culture. The Nymphenburg palace iand gardens are about a block from the palace and definitely should not be missed on your visit. Location, location, location!! Alexandra and Sebastian were friendly and helpful with any questions, requests or concerns you may have. Would definitely stay again but plan our trip for cooler weather!"

Vi Vadi Hotel Downtown Munich
Maxvorstadt,Munich - View on map
"At first we were a little hesitant about the hotel as the hallways looked dark and dated and could use a coat of fresh paint. However, the room was very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was good. While it was not right in the middle of the crowds, it was only 10-15 minute walk away from all major attractions (Marienplatz, cathedrals, open air market) AND from the best beer garden in Munich (Augustiner-Keller, Arnulfstraße 52, 80335 München, Germany) :)"

Creatif Hotel Elephant
Hauptbahnhof,Munich - View on map
"The hotel is very conveniently located 2-3 minutes walk from Hauptbanhof ( Central Munich Station).. The facilities are very basic and rooms too... The breakfast offered is very basic like cornflakes, some cold cuts, yoghurt and fresh fruits... Coffee is on the house but they don't have a kitchen so nothing hot is served like omelette and room service....but the location makes it up... You are surrounded by hoards of good restaurants and coffee shops.. you can walk down to Mariaplatz or take a train (5 min) and enjoy Munich.. English Garden is also close by and if you enjoy a walk you can reach there in 20 minutes.... All and all its a budget hotel with no star facilities... But if yiu are a backpacker and love to explore on foot then this hotel is an excellent choice"

"We were visiting Munich to go to the passionplay in Oberammergau. This is a good city to visit for a couple of days. The hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of town, on walking distance to the shopping area and tourist attraction. Highly recommended for a short memorable stay."

Vi Vadi Hotel Bayer 89
Ludwigsvorstadt,Munich - View on map
"Замечательный отель, расположенный недалеко от центрального жд вокзала Мюнхена. Легко найти. Рядом с отелем остановка трамвая, недалеко 2 основные станции метро, разнообразные кафе, рестораны, булочные и магазины. Уборка хорошая, единственное не пополняют запас уходовой косметики пока не попросишь. Завтраки достаточно дорогие, но Мюнхене цены вообще высокие. Wonderful hotel near mail railway station. Easy to find. There are a tram stop close to the hotel, 2 big metro stations, different cafes and restaurants, pasteries and shops not far from the hotel. Good cleaning but the cosmetics are not refilled daily just per request. Cost for breakfast is rather high but costs in Munich is rather high."

Hotel Demas City
Hauptbahnhof,Munich - View on map
"The hotel is located about 10 mins walk from the train station - it wasn't the nicest area in town but it's very convenient for us as we took trains a number of times when we were in Munich. The hotel room is cozy - there was some dusts on the coffee set but not too big an issue. There was a power outage the first night we were there but it was quickly resolved by the staff - we really appreciate it! The hotel also helped to receive a delivery for me that came a few days before my arrival and let us leave our luggage overnight. It has made our trip more convenient :) "

Hotel Ambiance Rivoli
Sendling,Munich - View on map
"My family and I stayed at The Ambiance Rivoli for three nights and it was a delightful experience. In particular the concierge, Herr Thomas was wonderful: helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. The breakfast was sumptuous. The location was perfect for us, close to Marienplatz but with enough distance for us to get a different view of the city. The rooms were tastefully decorated, the bathroom in particular was very pleasant. And the best part was the price! You get a lot of bang for your buck. All in all we had a brilliant stay and we cannot recommend enough"

Traveler impressions of Munich

More about Munich

Munich is a city of beautiful architecture and natural beauty, with a culture that celebrates a good lager. The city and culture so enjoy their beer, it’s the home of the world-famous Oktoberfest, a two-week long festival celebrating all things beer. Oktoberfest attracts around six million visitors a year, making it a little tricky to book a hotel in Munich during the period of late September through early October.

Munich is home to some of the best museums in Germany, as well as war memorials and public parks. The Englischer Garten in Schwabing is home to one of the city's biggest beer gardens and Riemer Park is where locals often head for a swim.

The city is also home to many Bavarian castles. The baroque Schloss Nyphenburg is within walking distance of Hirschgarten while Residenz Museum is found right in the city center, surrounded by some of the most historic buildings and hotels in Munich.

One of the best times to visit Munich is from late November to the end of December. This is when the Christmas Markets fill the city with lights and special Christmas events.

Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport is the city's main gateway, located around 40 minutes outside the city center.

There’s much more to see and learn about Munich, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to find out where the attractions and hotels can be found in this exciting city.
