Mussoorie hotels & places to stay

I was visiting Mussoorie after a period of 35 years after having lived in the Doon Valley for 12 years. Much has changed, and nothing for the better, except for the Savoy. It has been beautifully restored to it's glory. The rooms are spacious and we'll appointed, still reflecting an old world elegance. The staff is courteous, helpful and friendly without being overbearing. The dining is good, and the club bar is also well stocked and cozy. We stayed two nights and would love visit the Savoy again. I wish I could say the same about Mussoorie.

GET YOUR STAFF TO SMILE MORE.THE BELL BOY SHOULD LEARN HOW TO SAY THANK YOU AFTER RECEIVING A TIP.IT IS COURTESY.ALSO THEY SHOULD HELP CLIENT IN PUTTING UP THE TRAVEL BAG ON THE RACK PROVIDED & NOT LEAVE IT AS IT IS. THEY SHOULD EXPLAIN THE FACILITIES IN THE ROOM.FRANKLY THE HOUSE KEEPING TOOK THIS ROLE & I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEM.THEY KNOW HOW TO SAY THANK YOU.INFACT ONLY THE BELL BOY SEEMS TO NOT HAVE A CLUE WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSE TO DO & AS SUCH I CHOSE TO CARRY MY OWN BAGS TO THE CAR INSTEAD OF USING THE BELL BOY WHEN I CHECKED OUT.THE GUARDS AT THE VALLEY WING FILLED THE ROLE OF THE BELL BOY IN PUTTING THE BAGS IN THE CAR & YES HE DID KNOW HOW TO SAY THANK YOU.YOUR BREAKFAST VARIETIES HAVE GONE DOWN AS COMPARED TO MY LAST VISIT.DO IMPROVE ON THIS.OVERALL EXPERIENCE HAVE BEEN PLEASANT & WHENEVER I RETURN TO MUSSOORIE I WILL ALWAYS STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.IT IS VERY QUITE & PEACEFUL.

Hotel is as shown in the pics. Has a nice heritage look but may sound expensive to a few but as it comes with breakfast and dinner, it's not at all a bad deal. Staff goes an extra mile to cater to your requirements. And location is amazing..near but still far from mall road. We had a good time and will highly recommend it to couples or honeymooners...it's more of a homely place so please don't expect a 5 star mannerism from staff but they will do all they can to Ensure your stay is beautiful.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Orchid Fort Resort in Mussoorie, India. We will highly recommend to anyone looking for a great hotel with a beautiful location and amazing view. The service was also very good. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Ernest & Donna

Hotel was clean, and staff relatively friendly; English was sometimes a problem but not often. No business centre despite having a room labelled as the business centre-was told by reception they didn't have one. The wifi is atrocious and unreliable - especially in the rooms. Even in the main restaurant, one side of a table would have wifi and the other side would not. The gym is minimally equipped and, while a pitcher of water is provided as opposed to individual bottles, no towels are available and the room is not cooled. The transport from the hotel was quite complicated as the hotel supposedly is not permitted their own cars and they did their best to negotiate on our behalf with local taxis, who sometimes changed price after pick-up. Good selection of food, well prepared, and room entertainment was relatively extensive. Room service fast and accurate!

A place with character and a friendly vibe, helpful service and a great location. We enjoyed a couple of days holed up here, occasionally traipsing down to Mussoorie or enjoying the natural environs of Landour, when not spreading ourselves out on the funky comfy furniture and taking in the interestingly furnished warm cottage.

Stay at club mahindra mussoorie was excellent. The rooms had a very good view. however room service was little slow. overall a good stay.

My wife and I spent a weekend here in February, after I had two days of work in Mussoorie. Off season, and for good reason; it was quite cold, with some snow and frost. But the guest room was warm enough, the lovely library a little chilly, even when they lit the fire - just for us, a very nice touch - thank you! Service impeccable, and surroundings were delightful. It was quiet, and must be wonderful in summer. You cannot book a room directly on their website; you have to send an email, the reply to which took 3 days, by which time we had decided that it had got lost and booked using Agoda, which was a pity as the hotel was offering a 2-night inclusive special not available on Agoda. We would stay again in a heartbeat if we had the opportunity!

I stay for 2 nights in this hotel and hotel is value for money,, nice location near to mall road, hotel staff were very kind & well mannered, hotel room was very cleaned , good tasty food with vide variety. I will recommend this hotel to everyone...

This is an old british era property located right on the Mall with great views of the Doon valley. Its a quaint hotel with charming british era architecture in the mail block. It seems they have added a few rooms later on that easily blend with the existing structure. The owner is a an old very charming lady who is a delight to speak to. If you want to live the colonial charm of Mussoorie, there is no better place then this hotel on the Mall, and of course the grand old property "The Savoy".

We had an amazing stay at India Hotel Mussorie (Hard Rock). We stayed there from 29th December 2012 to 1st January 2013. Everything was perfect and to our liking. Management and the staff were helpful and the service was always provided with a smile.

It is really a very good property. The service was really excellent. The staffs were always smiling and helpful. The location of the property is really really excellent and secured. Food brilliant. Worth staying every time we visit Mussoorie and one of the reasons I will visit Mussoorie is t stay in Kasmanda.

Good location. Nice property. Good open space in yard for casual sitting / relaxing outside room. Excellent view of Dehradun city below. But Food is average . Would recommend this hotel.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The service and cleanliness at this hotel is very good.

Good property with great views but poorly located. Took a lot of time to locate, finally had to ask hotel to send someone. Staff sincere but not well trained. Spoke to manager only on phone. Can't understand why hotel would not drop us at the start of the mall. Difficult for senior citizens to climb steep hill to pick-up point. No walking possible outside hotel gate because of steep hill. Restaurant view good but food ordinary.

Pros :- - Rooms are spacious. - Hotel staff is ready to help you with anything. - Location is best, everything nearby. Cons:- - Hotel look like really old and unmaintained.

View was really awesome...food quality was superb...staff is courteous and very cooperative. They provide services as in 4/5 star hotel ... free pick up drop facility is great .. Special thanks to Mr. Debashish, the Manager...he is really the best Manager..... would surely recommend to all other... !!!!

I booked 2 Deluxe rooms for 3 Nights but they upgraded it to Superior Complimentary without asking for it. Rooms were quite good. View from Window was very nice. Location is excellent. Food cost was very reasonable. Only thing that I missed was Lift/elevator for my Mother.

Booked 2 rooms on Agoda with 4 persons per room. Imagined it will be 2 double beds but turned to just a slightly bigger room with one double bed. After informing them about it they arranged to put 2 extra single beds in each room. There was lack of space so they had to move out the sofa. Worked out in the end but all too cumbersome. Staff were pretty nonchalant. To quote "aisa hi hota hai" Also it's overpriced considering the room wasn't really a family room

My wife and I arrived Mussoorie by flight from Delhi. We were picked-up by Hotel taxi and took 2 hours drive from Dehradun Airport to our Hotel. The hotel itself is very clean and the lobby are kind of funky and cool. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful as we were checking in, and continued to be as we asked questions. We stayed for four nights and had a classic room with a king size bed. The room was quite big by European standards, as well as very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. All in all the rooms and staff were great and we enjoyed our trip

the hotel has a rich history.the british built this property as a summer holiday club thus known as Himalayan Club.The Elite would come & stay here. Many prominent people form the British era would spend days enjoying the "queen of the hills Mussoorie". The Maharajah of Tehri bought this hotel from the British and hence changed hands to the present owners. the hotel is beautifully located on a picturesque spot making a birds eye splendid view of the hills. The area is mesmerizing & quiet for some soul connecting & rejuvenating experience. The staff is humble soft yet well trained to go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as one would expect. I have stayed here many times making me nostalgic everytime i come here. highly recommended to all who expect gr8 hosptitality & a wonderful time!!

The best part of the stay at was that the hotel staff was quite accommodating and friendly. Though the building wasn't to big or the rooms weren't huge, but I'd say that it was pretty comfortable and good value for money. As far as food is concerned we didn't try too much, but whatever we ordered was served fresh, hot and supremely delicious. Chicken biryani was specially good.

We booked 4 rooms for check in on 25 may 2017 and check out on 26 may 2017 check in time 10 pm on 25 may and check out time 10 PM on 26 may. We arrived hotel at 7.30 am on 26 may they refused to give us rooms. Pl refund us our money.

Nice property.. Amazing staff!! Head chef thank you so much.. We enjoyed every single bite of food.. Thanks to the staff who were in their toes to provide us best of services. Thanks Pooja for the morning Yoga sessions. Thanks aaksah (unsure about d name) for lovely pictures. I am a little disappointed for the charges related to children activities. After paying so much we believe all the aminities should be free. But on the contrary for activities like Trampoline we paid 500bks for 20 mins(

Nice view outside your spacious room. The location was nice, markets just outside. Kind of central to the attractions, restaurants etc. You can get taxis/rickshaws in walking distance. The owner and the staff are really helpful, they can guide you in local stuff, as well as make your journey really pleasant by fulfilling any request you make in the hotel. That's the reasons they have customers who have been coming for years now. You can get chair/tables in the evening to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. You can order food (in fact all 4 meals as well, if you want), water etc. to your room. Rooms were clean, all amenities provided, without any hassle. Initially the WiFi didn't work, but it worked after some hours, so that's fine. I have already referred this to some friends going there, and even I will go back to this when I travel next.

Good location, right in the middle of mall road, overlooking the valley. Food was good, staff was courteous and helpful. Rooms were well kept. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Mussoorie. Don't go by the name!

If you are coming by cab, then it is not allowed to the road on which the hotel is there. Though it is close to mall road. Facilities are decent, though wifi is challenging and kids play room is missing. Also, cleanliness is not upto to mark. Staff is excellent and this makes it worth. Food also is decent.

It was a nice hotel where we enjoyed our stay. Food was really awesome.. and the surroundings and lawn was great to see for. Hotel staff was also courteous and well behaved. But, the size of room was an utter disappointment. Given the prize we paid for a deluxe room, it was not worth to have a small room. Overall, I would rate this hotel 7/10

while booking through Agoda I got the discount, which helped me to save lot of money. I was quite pleased with the service by staffs here, very gentle and polite. Room was quite big. View from window is also good. People staying in top floor will face noise , monkey jumping in roof. Management need to clean the side walls as saw few web and spiders. When we entered room there was foul smell in washroom which went after a hour. Overall I would rate 8 out of 10
