Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel

"If you like to spend one or a few nights in the 1930 athmosphere and have the feeling of a maharadscha of that time then this place is a must. Yes, it is old, yes, it is not modern like a 5 star Hilton hotel and all the other brands you get all over the world. But it is exquisite, it is unique, and you get the feeling of another world and all the luxury there has been a hundred years back. And the staff is very friendly and super helpful. It is an wonderful romantic experiance you should not miss when in Misore. "

"Location good and convenient for shopping. Good Christmas decorations and entrance was spacious and great meeting place for residents. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful in giving us good tips on shops to visit and site seeing. The visit to the Mysore palace during the day was good but don't miss the evening when the lights lit up the palace it is something you will not see elsewhere. The architecture is beyond ones imagination and you will enjoy the craftsmanship of the artists. the Mysore gardens and the musical fountains at night should not be missed. The breakfast had a Hugh variety which we thoroughly enjoyed with many waiters at our beck and call. Even the manager continually enquiries on the stay of his guests comfort. The dinner at the lower level was enjoyable and the food prepared to our satisfaction."

"We stay in Bangalore and Mysore seems to be a convenient weekend getaway when we get a long break. We have a young 03 yrs old so we look for places that would be child friendly. This time around in October of 2016,we wanted to try a new place and as most other places were sold out, we landed up for this Resort on a travel portal and voila, we were in for a pleasant surprise. From the moment we landed at the reception, the courteous staff ensured we get the holiday experience and it started with the golf buddy ride to our Cottage Room. The room itself is just one big bedroom and a very small lobby and with an attached huge bathroom but the setting is excellent. It opens up with a sit-out balcony overlooking the lake. We were a bit concerned about mosquitoes but to our surprise, there were'nt any for the greenery and water around, later we realized that the staff spray repellents around the resort each day, so really thank them for that. The Pool is the hero of this place, it's so grand and well designed, that it allows space for everyone to have a good time and it's very child safe and friendly. Luckily, there are many families who choose this place so , its a great way for the young ones to meet their friends, my daughter too made a few here. The hotel management, ensures that the guest get a world class experience and during our stay ,we saw them organize outdoor dinners, entertainment events which was really very nice. I highly recommend this resort and we will surely be visiting it once again. Thank you Silent Shore team for making our stay memorable. - Ashwin Raman Bangalore"

"After my tiring drive directly from Mumbai to Mysore, it was a heaven for me to check-in extremely comfortable hotel. Staff spoke English and Hindi fluently which you rarely get in South of India. They were quick and soft spoken. We reached at 11pm when their kitchen closes but still in room service they served good hot biryani and I retired well on their soft beds well after a drive. My daughter 3 yrs old was just over excited at this clean and bright shining hotel. Wide variety of breakfast. I have stayed in Carlson Group Hotels at Indore and Pattaya as well. Always had good experience but Mysore one ranks best in my view till now. Must stay for Business Class and Family as well. They were just good at everything."

"I went with my family (wife, my daughter, my mom dad, sister and her 2 children) for a day trip to Mysore and booked 2 triple premium room for a night stay on 18th May 2017. I must say that the staff are very cooperative and provide you best class services. Not to forget the food was really delicious, the Cook being hired from Kolkata it tickled my taste buds as I too belong from Kolkata and thus am familiar and inclined towards the taste. as a whole we had a pleasant stay at the hotel."

"A wonderful tranquil end to a busy 5 week yoga holiday in India! Very affordable luxurious lifestyle in a beautifully presented, peaceful environment, tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Mysore! My wife and I booked a ground floor premium studio apartment which was generously sized & well appointed. The private outdoor courtyard shower in the apartment was a unexpectedly fun alternative to use! Staff were calm & attentive to our needs and facilities on site excellent. The manicured grounds, use of green screening, beautifully designed water features, giant chess board, with geese, cocky and turkeys roaming around created a unique & tranquil ambiance. The restaurants, meals & staff were exceptional standard and value. Whilst there treat yourself to a massage! We chose a package comprising the Abhyanga, Shirodhara & Patra Pinda Sweda massage treatments...possibly the best 2 hours' spent on our holiday and such good value! Highly recommend. "

"We stayed at the hotel for the night of November 5, 2020, checking-out on November 6, 2020. It was a fantastic stay. The hotel kind of set the benchmark for safety for us during our trip of 10 days across three cities and four different hotels. Our bags were sanitized prior to our entry, and our temperature was checked at the entry point. Front-desk had glass separators and clear floor markings to ensure physical distancing. Elevators had provision for tooth-picks to operate the buttons (but they were missing at the ground floor during our stay), with hand sanitizers available to sanitize our hands before entering and after exiting the lifts. The room was sealed with the note that the room was sanitized, which we had to tear open, which is an added assurance that nobody had entered the room after it was sanitized. Single use cups in the room was another positive aspect to reduce risks. The room was well-maintained. In-room amenities were of great quality. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant stood out the best. Staff wore masks and face shields at all times. Service was impeccable. After we placed our order for dinner (a-la-carte), we were given an estimate of the wait time for our food to be served. The food was tastefully prepared and served with finesse. The restaurant staff also checked with us if we liked the food while we were having it. The breakfast buffet had a good spread. The setup was such that only the restaurant staff would touch and handle the dishes, and were serving us when we went with the plates. This greatly minimized the risk in a buffet meal by avoiding multiple guests touching the cutlery using which we could help ourselves to the dishes on the buffet. Great setup! Ms. Durga at the restaurant was always prompt and cheerful in her service during both of our meals. All of the staff at the hotel whose names we didn't manage to gather were service oriented and prompt in their high-touch service through-out our stay. We would definitely r"

"There are no lifts so you have to climb stairs if you get rooms on the higher floors. The staff are very helpful and will take your luggage up for you but you have to get yourself up :) The breakfast range is very limited but filling. The property is an old palace and feels like one when you stay there - I say this in a nice way. The pool is nothing but a small unclean puddle located where the sun probably never reaches it. Bear in mind that there are very few rooms but they are all very spacious and luxurious. Even within the room, the toilet has a set of steps leading to it. Most important : There was some error in the booking of this room where it showed only 1 person booked to stay, whereas we were 3 of us (2 adults and one child). The rates for double occupancy were higher but they understood that there was an error and waived the extra charge. This was exemplary service when compared to other hotels like Fortune JP in Mysore which are ruthless in this matter and will ensure they make the additional buck from you."

Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Mysore

"By far the best hotel in Mysore not only in therms of service & food but even the rooms were brilliant. We visit Mysore once every quarter on work and have stayed at most of the other hotels in the same category but none have come close to the experience we had at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel. The business class rooms were heavenly and complete value for money. The check-in was handled really well by Bopanna and team. The dinner was excellent, definitely the best butter chicken I've had in Mysore. The room service was great and so was the housekeeping. Abin did a great job setting up our room. Our only disappointment was that we didn't get to spend more time at the hotel. Would have loved to try out the spa and relax a little longer. Hopefully next time!"

More about Mysore

The city of Mysore is an excellent destination for experiencing a piece of India as it is one of the country’s most well-planned cities as well as the second cleanest. Being considered the cultural capital of the Karnataka state and home to a hospitable population, this destination is a traveler’s delight. The city does have its own small airport, and the nearest international airport is Bangalore, and trains stopping at Mysore Junction ensure convenient access to the city.

According to Mysore’s mythical history, this was where the goddess Chamundi defeated the demon Mahishasura. A beautiful temple to the goddess and a statue of the demon can both be found on Chamundi Hill. A climb up the hill offers a chance to explore this history as well as get a good view of the city. Mysore Palace is a great spot to hit for a glimpse into the royal history, and visiting during a national holiday or on a Sunday will allow you to see the palace illuminated in nearly 100,000 bulbs. The city boasts roughly 180 parks, providing an abundance of green space options. Happy Man Park is one of the most popular and is very family friendly. Many locals enjoy visiting the lakes that dot the landscape, including Kukarahalli Kere and the romantic Karanji Kere which is encompassed by Mysore Zoo. The zoo, one of the oldest in the world, is definitely one of the city’s most popular attractions for its spectacular grounds and array of wildlife. Tasting Mysore Pak, shopping for silk sarees, or taking a walking tour of Mysore all add to the adventures that can be had when visiting here.
