I wouldn't say there's a lot to do here but a few nights wouldn't be too bad. Just make sure it's a break between destinations.
Nagasaki is a modern city, but with it's history it is an important city. The A-bomb and Dejima are 2 examples of must visit sites in order to have more insight in Japans history.
no need guide book , becoz not so big... and honestly this is the best place in Japan that i never had before quite.
Not a lot going on here, Fisherman's wharf had good seafood and walking around you could find descent Shabu Shabu or Bbq.
Plenty of things to visit particularly the peace park and nuclear bomb museum. Also lovely Glover gardens up on hill with fab view of port.
Staying at Nagasaki can access to the west part of Kyushu easily like Sasebo City, Arita town , Saga prefecture , Unzen and Ureshino.
Nagasaki was bit of a punt for us, but well worth it. History and culture in every way, very scenic, good exhibitions and museums etc, friendly, always fascinating.
I came to Nagasaki for HTB, which I came by train from Fukuoka (Hakata). The travelling time is not so long that you do not need to stay over night at Nagasaki if you have no plan there unless you plan to stay at HTB.
A City rich with history. Food is amazing voted best for Wagyu, this port town has so much to offer in terms of food and kindness, we bought a kimono, the famous decorated kites and enjoyed the catella cakes :D
You can drive up to the mountain to see a panorama view of the city to sea to mountain. Alternative, you can take a cable car up to enjoy the view.
It is not like Osaka or Tokyo. So do not expect anything so entertaining. It is still a good sized city to spend a good days.
I really loved this city. The people are great. There s plenty to see, especially related to the nuclear bomb that was dropped there as well as some very interesting cultural and historical sites that where very easy to get to via their tram system.
Nagasaki is small enough to see almost everything in one or two days using the streetcar. Choose which temple or shrine to see, maybe try the Confucian Shrine and its museum, and Mt Inasa.
Nagasaki was a pleasant surprise, very rich in history. You can see most things in a busy 2 to 3 day visit.
Nagasaki is a place with many sad memories. It has undergone massive destruction and yet it exists today with an incredible spirit of resilience.
The night view of Nagasaki is quite famous. The sea-food around the harbour is also good, delicious and cheap.
We chose to go to Nagasaki for two reasons: The atomic bomb history and the volcano nearby: Mt. Unzen.
Nagasaki is a city with a rich history. Many cultural traditions have influenced Nagasaki--from China to Portugal to Holland and the United States.
It is a historical city with lots of attractions and a great see view. it is easy to go to a number of places nearby like Huis Ten Bosch and Unzen.
1.The night view on top of the "稻佐山" is a must-see attraction. 2.Food in the city is very good, especially for the historical restaurent "吉宗" is a must-eat.
In my opinion one of the most beautiful located cities in Japan, full of history and interesting places.
City will a history of foreign interactions since the promulgation of Christianity to Japan and the prominence of Mitsubishi industries in Nagasaki.
