Hilton Nagoya
Sakae,Nagoya - View on map
"I stayed here for a weekend in June. It was my first time visiting Japan so I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Hilton Nagoya was the perfect hotel for me during my stay in Nagoya. I got a great deal on agoda and got a great price on an executive room. I stayed on the 26th floor and as an executive floor bonus, I got free wifi in my room and free breakfast each day. They also offered tea service and dinner drinks and snacks. All the food was great. Also they offered a free shuttle from the hotel to Nagoya station and Nagoya castle (on the weekends). A bus to the airport also stops right in front of the hotel so it was easy to get to the airport."

The Royal Park Canvas Nagoya
Nagoya Station,Nagoya - View on map
"I spent a weeknd in Nagoya and stayed at Royal Park Hotel. The location of the hotel is in 5 mins walk to Nagoya Station, and just 3 mins from Midland Island (a high-end shoppig and dinning place, Dean Deluca is there). Also, there are hundreds of shops to satisfy all kinds of visitors. By the way, I paid a bit more to stay on Premium floor, and it's worthy! The size of the room is bigger than the average business hotesl in Japan, and free drinks at restaurant. The breakfast is as good as most people posted online, very healthy and delicated foods to energise youself in the morining. I'd definitely stay at this hotel if I go to Nagoya again."

Nagoya Prince Hotel Sky Tower
Nagoya Station,Nagoya - View on map
"We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. Aonami line can get to the hotel without getting out the skywalk, convenient. If you are familiar with the road, walk to Nagoya Station will only takes you like 10minutes around. It’s a new neighbor and close to Aichi University, a young and vivid area with new hub and restaurant. Hotel receptionists are all with good attitude, even helped me to book restaurant. Facilities are brand new since this is a newly opened hotel on December 2017. Willing to stay in this hotel again and hope the price rate will be the same. It’s very lucky and wise that we didn’t choose to stay at Mitsu Garden Hotel which we had a short stay in Kyoto in Mitsu, small and old facilities. "

Smile Hotel Nagoyashinkansenguchi
Nagoya Station,Nagoya - View on map
"My wife and I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was only several blocks from Nagoya Station. Contrary to how some literature describe the area, this "back" side of Nagoya Station is easy to navigate, clean, quiet and safe. The staff was super friendly and the free breakfast was the typical Japanese style breakfast with decent selections which we liked. "

APA Hotel Nagoya-Sakae
Sakae,Nagoya - View on map
"The hotel is 5-10 minute walk from Sakae subway station. If you come with heavy luggage, would recommend to use the exits with escalators or elevators, which will land you inside other building (but you can find your way out just fine), but it's better than lug those bags upstairs. The hotel itself is quite new and located in the middle of nightlife neighborhood, so there're bars everywhere. The room, the bed is quite comfy, but no air humidifier which I think should have been provided during winter. The breakfast was 'The Best'. I loved the traditional Japanese ingredients for the rice very much, especially the black paste. The coffee making machine was awesome. By the way, I happened to have seen the controversial book 'The Real History of Japan' that you purposely placed in the room. It's ABSURD. And since I saw the news that you are going to remove it, I'll have no complaints about this."

Traveler impressions of Nagoya

More about Nagoya

The city of Nagoya offers a big-city atmosphere, but is lightly visited, leaving it a popular destination for those looking to experience Japan, but without the hectic crowds normally found in other cities like Tokyo. With a four hundred-year old history, the city has much to offer.

One of the city’s biggest draws is Nagoya Castle. It was built in 1612 and restored in the 1950s, maintaining its magnificence and splendor. Nagoya TV Tower is an excellent site to visit for great views of the city from the 100-meter high sky balcony. When looking to explore the shopping opportunities, Oasis 21 Shopping Center and Osu Shopping Arcade provides everything from modern retail to mom-and-pop shops. Hotels can usually provide an abundance of information on recommended sites, including local gardens and cultural spots. A large expatriate community is catered to by several cafes and Western-styled restaurants. More authentic dishes would be udon noodels, kishimen, and miso nikomi udon.

Chubu Centrair International Airport serves the city of Nagoya, and hotels are conveniently connected to the city gateway via the Meitetsu Airport Line. Once in the city, six subway lines and taxis provide ample means to get around and explore Nagoya.
