Pekan town is a very small town without any shopping mall, no entertaintment to chill however I also understand that the people of Pekan town are village people, they are used to the kind of life quiet n simple life.
Pekan is the royal town (where the main palace of the Sultan is located) of Pahang, not too far from Kuantan, Pahang's main town (about a half hour drive, about 42km).
Popular food around town is Murtabak Mengkassar, a must try for all visitors to this town. Besides the palace and polo ground, Pekan has a few museums that focus mainly on the Pahang royalty and culture. The stalls and food trucks that line the sidewalks of the riverfront at the center of town also offer some good fares such as cendol and rojak.
Small city. Nothing much you can do in this district. Suitable for family trip. The Pahang Palacelocated here & polo sports is most popular in this city.
You can try 'Murtabak Mengkasar'. Quite famous and very delicious murtabak offered.
You need to rent a car or motorbike to travel around this small town. Its too big and have nothing much yet.
