I only stayed for one night, but the hotel is located 5 mins walking distance from the center. We had a clean room and a wonderful breakfast. The only remark is that we could hear the tv's from both our neighbours

Mapatagonia is a great hostel. The walls are paper thin, but when we stayed it was all like minded travelers who went to bed at a reasonable time, were quiet and respectful of everyone and therefore it was the most comfortable nights sleep we have had since being in Chile. The hosts were so lovely as well. I felt so comfortable here that I could have stayed a week.

Hotel Solace appears to be brand new. It's beautiful - complimentary breakfast is available every morning, the facility is very clean, and the staff is very helpful. The rooms are comfortable - large beds with plenty of pillows, nice size bathrooms, and lovely areas downstairs to sit. Puerto Varas is primarily a Spanish speaking city, and we are primarily an English speaking family, but the staff was very patient with our limited Spanish and usually had a staff member at the desk with some English, so we managed very nicely. The hotel is about 3 blocks from downtown Puerto Varas, easy walking distance, although it is uphill from the town and ocean. If the hill is a problem, inexpensive taxis go past regularly. The hotel is quiet and we never heard a peep from other rooms, although the hotel seemed fairly busy. Staff helped us book excursions and an airport shuttle. Overall, this is a beautiful, relaxing, lovely place to stay.

best view over lake in Puerto Varas. Staff is very firendly and helpful. rooms are nice and very clean. Hotel location is a bit at the end of Pto Varas wich allows the amazing view to lake and vulcanos but easy to reach everything. loved it

excellent. the hotel was beautiful in every aspect and the gardens and lake side location could not be bettered ....except we didn´t have any days with any visibility so the wonderful view of the volcanos that made me book this hotel was not there for us. Days with low cloud and poor visibility are fairly common here in the autumn I now understand !. Very difficult to find in the dark the first night the staff had to come by car to the main/ side road to guide us to the hotel .Difficult drive to the hotel but well worth it .

Great location in the centre of the town. A good breakfast. The staff were friendly...the gentleman on reception spoke English.

Stay here was good. Stayed for two nights. Picked hotel for its character and wood log cabin style. The hotel lived up to this. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast had enough variety. The adjoining restaurant was superb. There is also a great local shop next door selling empanadas. Only thing we found a downside was that the rooms were a little stuffy. There is a large window but not easy to keep open. Not sure how this would be in summer.

Not bad overall. The hotel is a converted school with lots of art and old artefacts - juke box, typewriter etc. The breakfast was OK, the room fine though noisy. Soundproofing was poor especially with a large group of noisy teenagers staying.

Staying at Bordemundo was seriously one of the highlights of our trip! The scenery surrounding you is beautiful we woke up early and walked down to the private beach in the morning and it was lovely and so peaceful. Javiera is such a warm and friendly person you can tell she truly loves this place and all of the animals that inhabit it! She gave us a bit of a tour of all the fruits and vegetables that she grows on site as well as the happy chickens that layed our morning eggs, the sheep that povided our blankets, and the peacocks that are just fun to watch! She also gave us some great dinner and sightseeing reccomendations. The breakfast was fantastic almost everything is local, organic, and delicious (I'm still craving her ciruela jam). Relaxing with coffee next to woodfire stove was a great start to our morning! The cabin itself was very cozy and tidy with a well stocked kitchen. The shower had plenty of hot water. There is plenty of room to park a car if you need. It's located a little ways outside puerto varas but worth the 7-10 minute drive and it puts you closer to the osorno volcano and the saltos del petrohue which are must sees if you are in the area. Thanks again Javiera, we will be back to visit again!

Location: Easy walking distance from town centre, but not quite central. Accommodation: Assessed as a hostel, not as a B & B, it fulfilled its role admirably. Bathroom fittings are of a high standard. There are excellent communal areas, including kitchen. Cleanliness: Excellent. Staff: Remarkably friendly and helpful. Value for money: Not sure how going rates for Puerto Varas compare with other towns in southern Chile. In Puerto Natales we found a very high standard B & B for somewhat less money. Frutillar however was more expensive for a high standard Hosteria with perfect location.

Nice apartment but too put of town really unless you have a car. Needs signage to say where it is as had to randomly ring on doorbeells until we found it. Friendly owners. Minimal cooking facilities - could use a fridge at least. No wifi.

The place was a bit hard to find. Once there, we enjoyed the cabin feel a lot and decided to extend our stay.

It was a good stay. The breakfast was excellent and the WiFi connection was the fastest I experienced during my nearly 3 week stay in Chile-Argentina. They host mid size travel groups so they brought a singer/guitarist in all of the evenings I stayed there. Although the music was neat...it remained pretty loud til 10-1030 pm. If you have a room near the dining hall you will hear it. Very good location (walking distance to downtown). The two twin bed room was small but you get what you pay for. Pretty cheap but would recommend the stay.

We had a great stay at Casa Azul. We booked the double room with own bathroom. The room and the bathroom were spacious with a very nice view to the garden, everything very clean. The owners (german&chile) take care of everything. And important to mention: this awesome breakfast!!!!! We even had waffles and fresh porridge, next to cheese, ham, yoghurt, ciabatta and normal bread, coffee, tea, juice. We would definitely come again!
