Schloss Hellbrunn - A place full of water trick fountains, be prepared to get wet. :) Eisriesenwelt - Worthwhile experience to be in the Ice Caves, but not for those who loves photography as all photography and videography are prohibited inside which is a disappointment.
Sound of Music tour will be an enjoyment as you will be experience and see the locations where the film was taken and have a sing-along when you start visiting places would be an added enjoyment. :)
SALZBURG IS THE ICON OF THE SALT OF AUSTRIA, AND BEAUTIFUL TOWN AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE, IN THE OLD TOWN YOU HAVE TO TAKE TIMES FOR WALKING INTO MANY NARROW PATHS TO SEE AND FIND EVERYTHING YOU WANT, ESPECIALLY A MOZART BIRTH HOUSE AND RESIDENCE ARE LEGASIES OF THE WORLD!
beautiful town the whole town is lovely walking thru' the town one can admire all the buildings and monuments one day was not enough for us the cable car ride on the mountains( about 20 mins by car) was superb loved the place
What do you want to know about Mozart or salt here is the answer you will find, not only in the city center, but also the outskirt of Salzburg there are many interesting places to visit that you should not miss.
Salzburg has 2 area as new city and old city. The best thing that we can explore from the salzburg is the old city which is offerring very strong and well organize city architectur and view.
Neverthless the modern thing also offerring by the redbull museum which make 2 different culture in one harmonies
Salzburg is beautiful and small. 4 days is enough. The old town is beautiful but stay in the new town for convenience as you can reach the old town by foot and accommodation will be better.
Transport is cheap $2.50 everywhere, free if you have the Salzburg card. Mirabel Garden is beautiful. The Fortress is great. The Mozart concert is great, but not the dinner.
Been here a few times. Historical and pleasant mid size city so not much of city noise and traffic. Very romantic city and if you are a fan of mozart, this city is a must on your list.
The sound of music castle is a must but try the walk down, dont hurry if possible. There are many nooks and corners to explore. Did the river cruise which was not very exciting nor particularly scenic. However the captain of the vessel made it enjoyable with his talk and dance with the vessel. need more such people...
It is a gorgeous city to walk around in, and one can see a great amount on foot. It was too cold (I was there in October) to stroll or cycle along the river, but that looked fantastic.
I walked up in the hills and it was just beautiful, lots of gorgeous places to walk in and around town, and of course great food everywhere. Charming!!
It is true Salzburg is a "Heritage City", "City of Mozart" and "City of Contemporary Muzic". You definitely need at least minimun 3 full days to find out true colour of Salzburg.
Should not missed "Cable Car, Palace, Mozart muzic, museum, birthplace, orchestra etc..etc...and many more. Not to mention St Hallein salt mine....
I love travelling in this city. Next time, I would find a hotel closer to the city centre rather than the train station which is quite a walk to the town.
Salzburg is a beautiful city with lots of Baroque architecture. The Old Town is filled with history. There are wonderful churches and places to explore.
Cafes/restaurants to sit out and eat and relax. "The Sound of Music" tour is really good and explains a lot about the making of the movie. A visit to he house where Mozart lived was slightly disappointing as we expected to see more about his daily life i.e furniture etc but it was mostly an explanation of his life and music by audio.
Salzburg is a compact city and one day is enough to explore the most famous attractions there. I would recommend visiting the greater Salzburg region.
A visit to the salt lake region such as Hallstatt and St. Wolfburg would be unforgettable!
the country side around Salzburg looks very pretty from the bus, with all the mountains, lakes. If time permit, I would like to revisit there also.
I like Salzburg. In fact, this is the second time that I visited this place. It's nice to walk around, listen to music and eat in outdoor cafes.
Don't miss the chocolates and the chocolate cake. Traffic is not heavy and transportation is easy.
With the Salzburg Card, everything is accessible, cheap and free! The Salzburg card is a must-have, Untersburg (part of the Alps) is a must-see.
It's a great place. A little city and easy to roam around. Great view, history and culture. Ill definitely comback in Salzburg in summertime.
its good to find a supermarket at the main train station. If u r not interested in paid museums or palace which would spend you quite a no.
of hours, 1 or 2 days are actually good enuf
Most of the attractions are situated at the Old Town area. Mirabell Gardens and the Old Castle areas are a must go to places in Salzburg.
For dinning, try Beverly Cafe locatedn Griesgasse, Old Town. Food is excellent and reasonably priced with good service. Try the HUngarian Goulash Soup.
A very beautiful and quaint city. Lots of things to do in the surrounding areas - go to the Lake District, Eagles Nest or the Salt Mines.
Very close to Germany and Bavaria. Lots of classical opera and shows to see. It was beautiful in summer when we went (July) and it had the vibe of Vienna (but more relaxed). The old town was a treat!
Take a walk through old city, visit St. Peter for a piano recital. Visit the lake district privately and take a round boat trip from St.
Gilgen. Panaroma Tours from Mirrabel Palace area offers various bus tours... book them in advance for last moment dissapointment
A beautiful city with many landmarks and great cultures. Don't miss a tour to 'Sound of Music' movie making location and Mozart Museum.
Salzburg is full of history I love to wonderful through it's historic streets no matter what time of day or what the weather is like
Beautiful City, Get Salzburg Card and travel around the city free ( entrance and public transport), must visit Untersburg Cable Bar
Very pleasant city, loved the old town, the mountains. Its a place that has a bit of everything depending on what you want to do.
Salzburg is a very cultural, artistic and romantic city. The path along the river is such a nice place to have a walk, or a run.
Everyone is so cultured, even the people are cultured and well-mannered. The town is well-planned and clean. All in all, I don't mind returning to Salzburg.
There is so much history in Salzburg with incredible buildings and monuments to see. I enjoyed my time there very much
Very picturesque city and easy to see on foot. I would recommend visiting the Stiegl Brewery, great value for money.
must go to Hohensalzburg Fortress, It have a great view of the city and your can know most history about the region.
Salzburg is such a beautiful town. There are plenty of sights to see - especially if you are a Sound of Music fan.
It's very worth doing a day trip out into the countryside as the scenery is spectacular. We hired bikes from the hire place by one of the bridges and it was very easy and safe to cycle around as the bike lanes are everywhere. Wish we had more time to explore the surrounding areas.
Major tourist spots are located close together; parking space is within walking distance to major attractions.
