San Jose (CA) hotels & places to stay

There is a very loud club adjacent to the premises. Rooms not facing that side are limited and the noise is real!

We had tix for Levi Stadium and on the map, another hotel appeared closer, but was booked. I noticed the Hyatt site sd they had a 15 min walk, sounded reasonable. Once you’re there, it seems like a shorter walk. Once you’re there, the Stadium is “right there.” Don’t let maps deceive you. Also, we ate in the restaurant. A bit pricier than we planned to spend that night, but great food. The Lemon Cake with Browned Butter is AMAZING! The boys ordered personal pizzas, and come to find out, you can be in the dining room and ask for the bar food menu.

Other colleagues on business travel for the same conference at Stanford paid hundreds of dollars more per night for nearby hotels. To get to Stanford (or downtown Palo Alto) it was an easy 10- to 20-minute Uber ride for around $20 up El Camino Real depending on traffic. My room with a queen bed, sofa, and desk was clean and well taken care of. The grounds were equally clean and safe--the clients that I saw seemed to be families and couples on vacation/visiting and others in town on business . The front desk staff were helpful with my check-in and also with my questions about food in the surrounding area. The breakfast was sufficient with a choice of hot and cold options.

Only stayed one night but was very pleased with my choice of hotel. The young man (Matt ?) on the reception desk was very cheerful, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was basic but good. Rooms were clean and very well appointed--even had a dishwasher! Old Town Campbell was fairly close and had a great choice of restaurants,

Did not order room with breakfast. First breakfast was bought at ground floor. Price for breakfast should have included coffe and juice, but instead this was extras that made this breakfast cost $10 over the same and much better breakfast bought at Hilton Santa Clara. The rest of the days I had breakfast outside the hotel. But the rooms, general service is good. Bar area is nice. The hotel has contract with a Lincoln driver that functions like an ordinary cab. Prices are the same as a cab, the driver is very helpful and nice to chat with. Recommend this instead of a traditional cab.

The looks like a typical USA motel - rows of rooms, two stories, external staircases, and external parking for each unit. But rates include a good cooked breakfast, the courtyard has a fire pit (perfect to laze by in the evening) ad there is a spa pool large enough for 20 guests. Good location on the main street in Menlo Park, several nice places to eat within a short walking distance, and a large supermarket complex next door. We'll be back - this is the place to stay in Menlo Park.

We liked the location, the amenities, the breakfast, and the friendly front-desk person who was helpful even though we were a fairly late check-in. The room was fine in all but one respect: floor cleanliness. In one corner of the room, about 25 coins in various denominations (U.S.) had been dumped on the floor. As we approached the bed, we were dismayed to encounter a pair of eyeglasses under our feet (luckily the glasses did not break and cut us). Guess what this means? Nobody vacuumed the floor after the previous residents (or maybe more than one group of residents). Nothing like foreign objects underfoot to make a visitor uncomfortable. The room/bathroom seemed otherwise fairly clean.

Never heard of this hotel chain, what a GEM! Clean room. Studio-like apartment with normal size refrigerator. Great wkend price! Most staff was pleasant & friendly. One night mgr was exceptional. Can't remember her nname, she has 2sons & 1 daughter the yougest. Had great conversation, talked about our families, & she gave me the scoop on the area. Nice lady! However, on checkout day(Sunday) did not have a good experience with another front desk staffer(Meghan??, not sure). Had an early appt with a client. Called hotel around 1023a, requested 1p check out (12noon normal), due to a client having a fender bender & was running late. She stated, "checkout is 12noon, you are on our time. I will see what I can do." When I arrived around 1207p, met another friendly staffer. I asked for the lady I spoke on the phone but "she was making her round." The friendly, smiling staffer told me I needed a new key card and gladly provided. No hassles. Overall good experience, recommend, 4.5 star.

DInah's Garden Hotel has the right combination: great location, large rooms, manageable menu (ie, limited choice but all well prepared), a restaurant located around the pool, efficient and friendly staff who 'go the extra mile' ... in sum, a first-rate combination.

Satisfied traveller The hotel is coming to the end of a massive refurbishment. We did not find this an inconvenience. Our room was immaculate and beautifully refurbished. The staff on reception are doing a brilliant job and we wish them well when they get to their new office.

The Juniper Hotel Cupertino A Curio Collection By Hilton is a lovely establishment, well designed, excellent food from room service, mini soda bar, and friend, great cable. However, when using the Agoda, the room did not come with free wi-fi. And when in the hotel room, the hotel sends a blocking signal that disables your cell phone to receive incoming calls, text message, access your mobile data, it leaves your mobile device completely suspended.

Before wo go US this time, we been same name the hotel in Toronto Airport stay for one night. Because our flight in the early morning. Easy to compare two hotels. To say the true. Quality Inn & Suites Toronto airport is much better with more quality.

We stayed there for 3 nights and the place was reasonably clean and the rate was also reasonable. I liked the wireless in the room and good speed. The Breakfast was limited mostly to cold breakfast and toasts. They had eggs and sausages which were prepared ahead of time but no fresh and tasty as if it was made to order. Mostly was disappointed about the business center. The business center was only one computer and old printer which was very slow and not easy to use

Stayed 1 night. Arrived at 10pm. The staff on night shift til 6am was extremely rude and incompetent. 1) Pointed us the wrong location of our room, told us it was opposite bldg but actually we were at the same building but the other far end. Not fun when u have to lug 4 bags on stairs at night. 2) Wanted to bath in epsom salts but bath tub had no stopper, so called reception to the same staff, she put me on hold more than 5minutes, so I put down and call again twice, nobody picked up. Third time, she picked up and and said she is going to come over and see what she can do. Arrived at door and press the doorbell angrily thrice, and stormed into our toilet on her loud shoes, and then she said she will see what she can do and will call back after. After 10mins, she said there's nothing she can do. Stayed in so many hotels but never came across such terrible customer service. I usually don't leave negative review but this is my first. Thankfully clean room but vanity kit box is empty.

I was really disappointed with this hotel. When I arrived at hotel at around 6 pm, I noticed that large tool box was left inside the room and my room had not cleaned yet. I requested to change room and moved to another. But TV was out of order in the second room. The image was frequently disturbed. I called a technician, but that issue was not resolved. I had to change a room again. Any problem did not occurred in the third room, but I found a notice showing that the water issues were occurred at that morning. In spite of many problems, this hotel is too expensive. Staff are rude and unhelpful.

Self-service hotel, except daily room make-up. Good location next to US 101 and downtown San Jose. The staff needs to be more friendly by saying more often "hi, hello, good evening etc...".

Hotel is near the airport and at my sister's residence in San Jose. It's also near the statue and church of Our Lady of Peace in Santa Clara. My family and I are devout Catholics

This was a surprising stay at the Comfort Inn. The room was nice, clean, convenient, spacious for the money, and affordable, had a pleasant but professional, helpful, understandable, intelligent staff, and was priced very reasonably considering the location. I was very pleasantly surprised at the staff's willingness to help even in small ways (extra supplies, condiments at breakfast, etc), and instead of the expected " cool attitudes," they all bent over backward to be nice and friendly. It felt more like a family situation than a typical motel visit. It really made a long, hard trip a whole lot easier. And nicest of all, the price for the quality really made the stay worthwhile. Considering the proximity to Stanford, and Palo Alto, I couldn't have been happier with the room, the motel itself, and the staff. Thank you Comfort Inn.

This is a relatively large motel complex in Paulo Alto set is attractive rambling grounds. There is a good deli and restaurant on site, and a smallish pool. Staff attention is minimal and the units need some up to date maintenance. Air conditioning units are extremely noisy and decor looks tired. better than average but not wonderful.

Nice stay for a week especially in South San Jose where you're conveniently located near many restaurants and plaza. Around the area, this is probably one of the better hotels to stay at...if you want to feel safe.

The hotel and room we comfortable and well equipped. The small gym was great for a quick workout each morning and the breakfast was fine. The only drawback was that the hotel is located a fair way out of town so you need a car to get around. Provided you have that then there's no reason not to stay here - it's a nice little hotel.

Quiet hotel. Great staff, nice parking, close to restaurants, shopping and work location.

Very good enviroment to stay. Check in was fast and I like the breakfast they served. Also, I can moved easily as the location of this hotel center located. I will stay at this hotel again if I visit Sunnyvale for my next business trip.

Very clean, spacious. Feels like home. Breakfast was great. You have everything. Refrigerator, microwave stove, dishwasher etc.... the only thing is the location. There’s nothing in the area like restaurants or stores otherwise it’s great

Clean, quiet, everything works, comfy bed, good pool, location incredibly convenient for accessing the whole area although you must have a car. The exterior doesn't looks so wonderful, but the rooms are just fine. Breakfast needs improvement, and we wished there was an electric kettle in the room for making tea.

Walking distance to restaurants. Nice touches in room like water bottles and cookies upon arriving. Simple but healthy breakfast choices and Starbucks coffee.

Highly recommend. Gorgeous bathroom, super comfy bed for a couple, nice, hip outdoor area, decent food and great cocktails. We were worried it might be noisy but it wasn't at all. If we're in the area again, we're definitely staying here.

This hotel is in a good location, but it was a little bit more pricey than I would have expected, but I suppose that’s Silicon Valley pricing at work. With that said, I would definitely stay here again for the right price and recommend to others. My room was spacious and well maintained.

the staff was very kind to explain many things, such as how to get the restaurant, call the cab, etc.
