"The Historic Santa Maria Inn is an older facility that has been refurbished with more rooms added. Its rustic, quaint and comfortable. It is centrally located in the city of Santa Maria, and is close to restaurants, wineries, antique shops, golf courses, and many other fun places to visit. I highly recommend it."

"Better than I expected. Calling it a 4 star hotel might be a bit stretched, but it's much better than lots of so called 3 stars. Paying a little more than a local motel, we got very good value."

"We spent the night in a room (#129), July 13th, in Santa Maria, CA. There was a huge gap in between the frame and the door. The bed creaked (right side only) like the sound of a donkey, each time I sat, laid or shifted my weight on it. There were black stains on the towels that were also ripped. The shower curtain was mildewed, and the sheet appeared to be blood stained. It was disgusting. Someone left an open (unused) coffee package in the coffee maker. The railing along the mirrored closed was rusted. Cracks in the ceiling and walls. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I want a total refund of my money and I should be compensated for the inconvenience as well. I must say the location was quiet, and the cleaning lady was very pleasant. The male employee at the check in counter was very impolite. Thank you, Maria "

"The staff was marginal - we got there at 12:15p, knowing that check-in was at 3pm. Because most hotels will check you in early if they have a clean room available, we always ask. The man behind the desk barely looked at us and just spouted off that check in is at 3p. I had to ask him to make sure our reservation was in there and it felt like I was bothering him. The room itself was tiny. There was no fan for the bathroom but strangely, a vent that was CAKED in dirt around the louvers. The TV was small and while wall-mounted, had wires hanging both above it and below it. Because the parking is right in front of the outer hotel room doors, at night, headlights would blind you through the peephole. Also, the breakfast didn't start until 7am where most start between 6a and 6:30a so we couldn't even take advantage of that, since we left at 6:45am. Yep, not a fan and we will never stay there again when in the area."

"The room is very small and noisy. Throughout the night, I can hear water dripping from the shower head in our bathroom. I also was disappointed for it not providing any toiletries, shampoo, hair conditioners. I think it’s very basic necessities for all travelers. It was very inconvenient that we have to get them from vending machine in the facility. However, I think they provide hot coffee and hot water/tea were great!! I was actually surprised how much motel 6 has improved throughout these 10 years. I saw security at the parking lot. When I was a teen, motel 6 used to be beat down motel and known to be at unsafe locations. I was a little worried when I booked it bcoz I was traveling with My daughter and was concerned mostly for safety issues. But we had good stay. The staff was friendly with good customer service. I would recommend this motel 6 for future travelers. "
