It was definitely not as touristy as the cities of Barcelona or Madrid. However, I had a good time there with the La Tomatina festival, and also the city itself was clean, safe, and had many interesting sights.
Food was also really good.
Take rent a car and visit the surrounding area. Do not forget to take Valencia Turist card and take adventage of the combined discounts ( check the offer on the web before traveling )
We visited Valencia for half a day and were able to cover most of the tourist spots. Mostly, the town is nice to have a stroll around the small streets and few open plazas.
We visited the town hall and bullfighting museum (2$ visit, not 10$ tour). We also visited the tower of serranos. Nothing much to remember like in Barcelona or Granada but still a beautiful little city.
I really liked the city! vry beautiful, clean and with its own atmosphere. the churchas are very beautiful, old center made me imagine that iam back in time.
Definatly want to come back
One of the best things is the weather. It is always sunny there! Because of this, it is possible to go to the beach and practice water sports.
It is a city with historical sites to see and also some modern that are worth a visit. One of the best things about Valencia is the nightlife and the mood of the people, the locals here are always ready to party. If you come here you definetly have to eat paella
Valencia is a vibrant, friendly city with diverse attractions, beautiful buildings, gardens and parks combined with an historic past.
The sea is reached by metro railway, the beach sand is white and inviting, the esplanade walkable for beach lovers as well as those who like walking esplanades. Restaurants plentiful and varied. Both historical and modern - there is plenty to see.
People are generally quite helpful and friendly towards tourist. It's nice to just walk around and absorb the beauty of the city.
Although i haven't had much luck with the food. (only came across one nice tapas bar throughout my whole 4 days in valencia) The city itself offers a lot of cultural places to visit and also a beach which isn't too far away which is a bonus. Parties can get quite loud at certain area so if isn't your thing, careful when you choose a location to stay at.
Second time I have been, lovely city although I still prefer Barcelona, Grenada and Seville for future trips.
It is rather a small city to visit, but there are a lot of parks and museums. And you can feel the city vibe.
I loved this city. It had everything for us. Every corner you turned, there was an old building to see.
The bridges that surround the city are beautiful (most of them) and the Haussmann style of some areas completes the overall charm of this city. Then, there's the city of Arts and Sciences that's a great place to explore. A modern clash with the old world. The oceanografico is a great place for kids (and adults). And when you just want to take it easy because your feet are tired, there are these beautiful sandy beaches right on the cold Mediterranean sea to lounge on. And the food is very nice.
