"Decent locker, and good security right on the Granville Strip. Bathrooms are only okay. Breakfast is a good deal. Overall the best hostel at this price I am aware of in the area. "

Hyatt Regency Vancouver

"We took Snowbus from Whistler to Vancouver, which stopped at the hotel. Very central location, with Burrard Skytrain Station right in front as well. Close to Robson Street, Pacific Centre, Hudson Bay, etc. Stayed in several hotels in Vancouver before, and can confidently say that the Hyatt is in an unbeatable location. We had connecting rooms at 1211 and 1212. One of the rooms was a corner room which was very spacious. The rooms were modern and nicely refurbished. If there're good promotional rates again, we'll certainly return. "

Atrium Inn Vancouver

"Frankly to say, I have traveled to Vancouver so many times and stayed in so many different hotels. Atrium of course can't compare with higher class 5 stars hotels....but as value for money, Atrium tops them all! Very good booking price vs good services, clean room, breakfast and underground very secured parkings. I will pretty sure I will book Atrium again for next travel!"

Blue Horizon Hotel
Vancouver Downtown,Vancouver (BC) - View on map
"Lots of eateries outside, Robson Street is beautiful - fairy lights in the trees, walking distance to Stanley Park, Canada Bay, Gastown, we took at cab to Granville Island $12 and Acqua bus to Science World. My sons (20 & 10 year olds) did canoeing around the harbour - pier is around science world, $22 CAD per hour. The hotel staff are friendly, rooms are large and clean, i had waterview room, it was beautiful. Only small issue was the air conditioning in the room was a bit noisey. There is a free shuttle bus at the front of the hotel that takes you Capilano Suspension bridge which was handy. "

Barclay Hotel
West End,Vancouver (BC) - View on map
"If you are planning to spend most of your time out and about whilst in Vancouver then this is your best bet! The room - although basic and very small - was actually quite clean and the location of the place is fantastic. Front desk staff were okay, not cheerful but not rude either. The gentleman in glasses was most friendly and happy. It is easy to walk anywhere from this place, we did a leisure walk to Stanley Park, wharf and Canada Place from there with our young kids. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. Just a little note, the room had a very strong smell, which might turn some people off. In fact the whole place did smell funny but I couldn’t describe what it was like. The closest thing would be like a mixed between the smell of a sugar soap, odour of commercial grade cleaning product and that dampness of wet old carpet. We just opened the windows in our room most of the time to let the fresh air in otherwise it would be too overwhelming. "

Best Western Plus Vancouver Airport Hotel
Marpole,Vancouver (BC) - View on map
"I had to go to Vancouver for a quick meeting and brought my daughter with me, as she was on spring break. This hotel isn't the closest to the downtown core, where activities for children (science world, aquarium, Stanley park) are located. But it was the most inexpensive one I found on agoda. I have stayed here a number of time while going to Vancouver for work or as a stop over to the airport. I'd say, it's probably one of the best for flights out of YVR, especially for early morning, as traffic is not a concern at all. Getting downtown, or the more fun areas of the city, can be done within 20-30 mins driving, depending on traffic. The room was small, but provided us with what we needed. The White Spot downstairs is convenient for meals. "

Emperial Suites

"Amazing view. We did not have the option to change the temperature in our room and that did not make for a comfortable stay. We also found the long term guest rude to us and others in the house over a few different things. Other then that the bed and pillows are really nice and it was very clean. "

The Cambie Hostel Gastown
Vancouver Downtown,Vancouver (BC) - View on map
"The hostel is above of a bar, in weekend everyone have fun time in bar, but hostel guest is hard to sleep before 2am. The shower room is incredible small, basically you have take off your clothes before you get in. They don't provide any body wash or shampoo. The extra tax is adding by amount of night you booked, not once."

More about Vancouver (BC)

As slick and modern as it is nostalgic, Vancouver is one of Canada's most recent triumphs. It's the largest city in the nation's west, and has gracefully transcended its sawmill origins to become a vibrant cultural hotspot.

An old-world British ambiance clings to South Granville, despite the fact that it slumped into industrialism for a while. The government injected Granville Island with some much-needed capital a few years ago, and the entire district has blossomed into a quaint commercial area rife with English pubs, craft boutiques, open-air markets and some of the best hotels in Vancouver.

Most of the accommodation in Vancouver is located in the greater downtown district. Guests based in this area enjoy easy access to Vancouver's hippest clubs, cafés, and lounges. Vancouver may be small by big-city standards, but it still has plenty to offer on the cosmopolitan front from cultural institutes like the Museum of Anthropology to Chinatown. Vancouver also has a fantastic shopping scene that includes large malls and exotic, ethnic marketplaces.

It cannot be denied that Vancouver's true power to move visitors is rooted in the outdoors. Every winter, skiers parade through Vancouver as a last stop on their way to Whistler. Nearby, Grouse Mountain operates a cable car and can be skied in the winter or hiked in the summer. Other summertime activities include mountain biking, beach combing, kayaking, and golfing.

The fastest way into the city is via Vancouver International Airport. Be sure to check out the interactive map of Vancouver for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
