Victoria (BC) hotels & places to stay

I made the reservation before I read the reviews from the other web site. I almost cancelled my reservations due to these very negative reviews. I'm glad I didn't, It turned out the suite we stayed for 3 nights were much better than our expectations.

we had a nice 3 night stay. the motel is not really within walking distance of anywhere interesting, but if you have a car it's perfect: quiet location, free parking, and a 5min drive to downtown, gas stations, or various supermarkets. nothing in this motel is really new or even modern, yet everything is maintained to a really good standard. our mini-apartment had a nice living room area with a sofa and an old tv, a dining table with 3 chairs, a kitchen with all the utensils, pots, pans, plates, etc. a microwave, large fridge/freezer, a comfortable bathroom and a very standard bedroom. the closet was huge, but the bed was a bit too saggy-soft for our liking. the staff were really friendly, and the free wifi served us very well throughout the stay. it was exactly what we were looking for - clean, functional, and fairly priced.

This was my third stay here. I enjoy the location. It is simple to find when driving, convenient for travel by bus, foot, or bike to downtown Victoria. The restaurant is convient for busy days and their bike rental is enjoyable. I also love the indoor pool.

It was a wonderful place to relax at after busy days at a trade show. May and Debbie made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfasts were amazing. Very friendly guests made the overall visit a great experience. Thanks so much.

Lots of stairs, they do warn you, no elevator or TV. Have WiFi and a wonderful breakfast. The lounge area and dining area spacious and well appointed with lots of period furniture. Very Quiet and minutes from downtown. The rooms we had was small compared to a standard hotel room, but we were only there for one night. The castle is right behind the Craigmyle. The hotel is 105 years old and very well kept, Thank you

The Helm's Inn is located approximately 15 minutes walk into the main shopping centre of Victoria and only a 2 minute walk to the museum. The room came with a fully equipped kitchen and good wifi. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and a wealth of knowledge. There was on site parking, although not included in the room rate still offered exceptional value. If you don't have anything to access the internet on they also provide a computer in the main lobby. A location where they have comfy seats and free tea and coffee. Overall we will definitely stay at this hotel again when we make a trip over to the island.

Three of us (all adults) came by ferry from Vancouver- with a car- to spend 2 days in Victoria. We enjoyed our stay here very much- super helpful staff (tx Aylaine and Joe!). We loved the atmosphere/decor- maybe in part because we're "of a certain age." Only wish we could have met John V, the current Waddling Dog! This is a warm and welcoming place, 20 minutes from downtown Victoria & the ferries. Good value for the price.The breakfast was simple/just fine for our needs, and again the staff was great. P.S. A bonus to be able to buy beer/wine at the store adjacent to the hotel!

My first trip to Canada. Really enjoyed my stay here. Friendly staff, clean room and great loction. Will definitly stay at your hotel next time I visit Victoria. Thank you for the wonderful service you had provided.

The fact is that our reservation notice did not arrive at the hotel until we were checking in, so in spite of the reservation system basically failing us resulting in no rooms of the type we requested being available, the hotel staff found us a suitable substitute room - after that, the remainder of our stay was very nice.

Our stay was lovely and would definitely recommend it to any of our friends. The house matched the feeling of Victoria- warm, welcoming and charming. As well as the close location which allowed us access to any part of Victoria whether it was downtown or to the many tourist destinations the staff were generally very good. Breakfast was always on time and careful prepared with a choice every morning. The house was kept well and with a range of amenities to use if needed. The staff were also very helpful with handling any queries we had or a general chit chat about what to do in Victoria. If you're looking a quaint and beautiful stay I would recommend.

We were charged $5.00 for overnight parking. We parked where the front desk help told us to overnight park, but were still charged $5.00 for parking on check out of the hotel. the Holiday Inn web site advertises free parking at this hotel. Not a bad place to stay.

this is a great hotel very quiet and central from Victoria to as far north on the island as Nanaimo

First time in Victoria (and BC). Arrived by Clipper and was thrilled with hotel location. Room wasn't ready, but staff held our bags and we had a nice lunch at Barb's - a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Checked into room and realized that (being near the water) the hotel had no AC. We were offered an extra fan - which we happily accepted, and used full time. Nice facilities. Adequate breakfast - convenient and well stocked. All staff was nice. Best thing about hotel was location, location, location. Walked everywhere near the inner harbor. Aura was phenomenal - and only a 5 minute walk.

Excellent place for the whole family. Good restaurant with huge menu for adults and children. Lovely pool and jacuzzi. If travelling by bus, you need to walk 15 minutes to the hotel along the Street in front of the Parliament Building or take a taxi. They have a shuttle to areas close to the Hotel. You only give a tip, excellent service. Vancouver to Victoria, it is best to take the Skytrain to the Airport then take a taxi to the Tawwassen Ferry Terminal. On the way back, you could take the bus to the Bridgeport Station then the Skytrain to the Waterfront Station (downtown Vancouver)

A fantastic lication and if booked accordingly a wonderful view of Victoria habor. We would stay there any time again

Very easy access to ferry port and Pendray tea house. Hotel is quiet, located walking distance to most of the places.

This is the best location for walking to all the sights, best restaurants, book stores and more in downtown Victoria as well as Beacin Hill Park.

This hotel has a history going back to the 1950's and has undergone several renovations. Our room was small, but clean and the beds were comfortable. The room we had was on the s3rd floor, directly over a high-traffic street and it was quite noisy. Although the room was clean and odor-free, the hallways smelled quite musty. There were insufficient parking spaces during our stay and required us to pay for public street parking. Although the staff were apologetic they stated there was little they could do about this. This was a definite con as street parking in Victoria is quite expensive.

Breakfast per person 23dollar however we booked 4people together First day at breakfast ,the waiter was kept asking about bill like we are theif and we didn’t know that there were some coupons to get from reception which was there fault to inform us during checkin, hotel is booked for 4adults but food is for 2only seriously ?more expensive breakfast than anyone Never recommend or go there

We had a delightful 2 nights stay at Fairholme Manor in Oct. Sylvia and Ross were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We requested for a portable heater at 2am as the room was chilly and Ross got us the heater and stayed on to ensure it was working. Breakfast was really wholesome (granola, fruits) and interesting concoction of filo egg smoked salmon (day 1) and a egg tartine with back bacon (day 2). The place felt safe and we got to see bucks, birds and the next door Government house was worth a visit. Will stay again if we are ever again in Victoria.
