A relax place good for every people who bear stress during work. The only bad thing here is the people doesn't know English so that we better to learn some Japanese before coming to Japan.
Besides wakayama city, a place call kada is great fit fishing ( out by boat) and if course, u should go to a shirahama too for great spa n excellent natural in caves n rocks n sea views
The city is only an hour drive from the international airport. There are many hotels within the city centre, where close to the main attraction - Wakayama Castle.
There are many wonderful restaurants around the city, many with carparking. The city is also close to other town and city nearby with great landscape.
A very interesting place to visit. Take your time to visit the monasteries, temples, museum and make a hike on the pilgrims trail in the hills around the village
Although you need to take at least an hour train to there from the airport. It is still worth to go if you like quiet and peace environment.
The city is a little isolated from tourist attractions. There is the castle but my hotel booking was based on Kumano Kodo trail access.
The trail's Takijiri Oji start point is an approximately 1 hour train trip to Kii Tanabe before an additional 45 mins bus ride to Takijiri Oji.
The area have many rural area, for Hill Hiking, Hot-Spring, Sightseeing, founding Historical, main theme park, Having seafood, Sashimi.
Good for living, due to not a busy city. You can enjoy cycling, joying, running, do exercise, and pick-up train, JR to Osaka for work. The air is very good, environment is wonderful, but you would not get big shopping mall for shopping, night live is not available in here
visit the tourist information center to get a copy of the local map. The city is easily accessible by train from Osaka and Shin Osaka.
For access to Kansai International Airport one need to transfer at Hineno Station.
There are many hot spring resort at Shirahama beach. You can access wakayama easily with Kuroshima express train from Osaka.
Its a nice place to have relaxation with good view of the beach.
a city nearby the sea, so you can enjoy many seafood freshly. and price will be reasonable. and the scenery is beautiful.
A quiet, relaxing city, main attraction being the Wakayama castle and nice food (even the local favor instant noodle).
Travel by JR is very convenient and the local food are very delicious together with a taste which is unlike city life.
The fish market Tolae Tolae is fantastic to see with nice view of the beach and the amusement park is good to try.
Local food variety is good to try on.
There is not many attraction in Wakayama City so you better go to the country side for hot spring and site seeing.
Food is excellent
If you have chance to visit Osaka and you got a few extra day. Why not place a visit to the Wakayama region.
It is the place that full of historical sightseeing point. Such as Kumano hiking road, wakayama castle, Nacho temple, shirahama beach and lot of hot spa. Nature environment in here is totally different from the busy osaka
If you want better quality yukata than those sold in souvenir shops, check out the collection at Kintetsu.
There, you can choose better designs and material, do your fitting and buy all the other things that come with wearing a Yukata. Japan has a reputation for being expensive but - surprise! - it doesn't have to be. Food from smaller shops, convenience stores and food stalls in groceries are very much affordable. Onagiri costs $1.05; buy two and you get a heavy breakfast. You'll want to try the prize-winning ramen (said to be the best in Japan) at Ide Shoten, in the city center. A bowl of ramen costs $6, which is a steal, given the taste and experience. The public transport system is very efficient and clean, there is no need to hire a taxi. If you visit Wakayama Castle, drop by Coffee Moca, a cake house by one of the castle gates. Wonderful spot for watching the afternoon amble by and delectable desserts are served at the shop! Wakayama has its own hot spring baths (onsen), just ask which hotels have it. The onsen are open for non-hotel guests, 'though you have to pay anywhere from $6 to $10 to access the bath.
Driving to Koyasan from kyoto is the best experience in this trip, we stayed for one night in Eiko temple.
Nice quiet town compare to Osaka . Only an hour from namba station,Osaka . People are very friendly .
If you want to go there , check for transportation to the hotel or rent a car. Fruits and foods are good.
