Traveler impressions of Williams (AZ)
Williams is a small town on the famous Route 66. It is a convenient place for visitors to the Grand Canyon to stay.
The residents have made a big effort to enhance the look of the town and make it inviting and interesting. Even the town Sheriff who was very welcoming to us Irish visitors had made a real big effort to make the decor of the family restaurant different and attractive. Rob's steakhouse is a great place to eat also and we had a great dining experience in a close by Italian restaurant. There are a number of interesting and goo vfm souvenir shops where we spent more time than we had planned.
Williams is little more than a row of cheap hotels just of the highway. Only reason I can think of to stay here is for an overnight stop related to visiting the Grand Canyon or travelling long-haul on a road trip.

More about Williams (AZ)
A stay along The Mother Road of Route 66 is an adventure in itself, but Williams offers a little more to add to the experience. Wild West Junction is an authentic-looking wild west village with a museum, restaurants, and shops. Take the small town by foot via a historic city walk, or hop on the Grand Canyon Railway which runs from Williams to Grand Canyon National Park. A classic diner, Mexican cuisine, and burgers and steaks can all be feasted upon while here.
Be sure to check out the interactive map of Williams for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
