Very green City, very good for biking due to big bikeways net. Staying there and eating there where the Wuxinese are doing that is the best way there.
I've lived and worked in Wuxi. As an expat I found a good circle of like minded 'exiles' and an interesting group of Chinese friends.
Generally I've found a reciprocal happy response if you display a cheery disposition and people are interested in talking to you to improve their English skills (puts my few words of Mandarin to shame). Overall I really enjoyed life in Wuxi with a great mix of familiar and Chinese life experiences. I still return whenever I get the chance.
Wuxi is an industrial city. There is nothing to see, my wife went to one of the landmarks, and was very dissapointed and came back quickly.
There is nothing there, other than business
In my opinion, Wuxi has great parks and lakes. Of course good food and restaurants is among all the best choices in Wuxi.
People is kind over here. Many big international companies located over here. Convenient for business man.
Fantastic Sheraton Hubin Hotel close to Wanda Shopping mall. Wuxi is a city where one can relax without distraction.
recommend to try out the Wuxi authentic Xiao Long Bai
Really nice place, enjoyed it especially Huishan Ancient Village. City is clean and picturesque, great places to walk, shop, sit and drink coffee watching the world go by.
Nanchang area great for food of all types and nightlife. The lake is pretty and enjoyed the taxi drive along the lake to Lingshan. This was very expensive but full of Chinese who love it and I found this a great experience, my husband found it 'interesting.'Research before you go to know if it is for you.
Wuxi is pretty much an industrial area. You may want to visit Tai Hu and some parks. Other than these, there is nothing much in Wuxi.
We visited Wuxi to see our daughter who teaches English there, despite it being a largish city to me it had a small town feel with a lovely canal and shopping area as well as nice parks.
Traffic was a bit hectic but once you were aware it was ok to manage to cross the road.
