More about Yantai

Yantai is a sleepy port city in Shandong that is considered to be the most charming of China’s cities. It has also been noted by the United Nations as one of the most habitable places in the world. Fruits and vegetables are available from the land, and the waters along the coast and around the more than 60 islands are brimming with marine life. The gold reserves found here also yield the highest output in China, and the city is also the cradle of the country’s wine production.

Picturesque scenery and dining go hand-in-hand in Yantai. Bus tours provide a packaged view of the city and could be a great introduction to the city before doing some personal exploration. The Changyu Wine Museum is a popular stop and is set up at the old site of the Changyu Wine Company. Enjoy some wine tasting before going out to explore one of many scenic areas. The Yantaishan Scenic Area is centered around the Yantaishan Mountain which creates quite the scene from afar and provides excellent city views from the peak. Around the Tashan Mountain is the Tashan Scenic Area and its strong religious atmosphere provided by the Taiping Nunnery, Sanhe Tower, and the Guanyin Pavilion. The beaches, Panglai Pavilion Scenic area and Yangma Island are also definite musts while visiting Yantai.

Travelers to the city are ushered in through Yantai Laishan International Airport. Find the most suitable accommodation for you by clicking on our interactive map and exploring Yantai for hotels and must-see destinations.
