"Despite not being quite what we expected, as the hotel is the village rather than being in a village, our 6 night stay turned out to be very enjoyable. Our room was clean, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the ambience of the place was outstanding. The pool was a great asset and the outside dining area under the wonderful fig (not olive) tree canopy truly a delight to eat in, while enjoying the spectacular views towards Herakleo. Breakfast was varied and the lunch/dinner menu gave plenty of choice at reasonable prices. As we had hired a car, the hotel's relative isolation was not a problem. The main drawback for us could have been the fact that the hotel doubles as a function centre, for weddings etc., which at times made it noisy, affected parking space and , it seemed, the wifi accessibility. However, the staff did their best to alleviate these drawbacks. The other problem for us as an older couple were the many steps, as the hotel is built on a hillside. "

"The staff were very friendly but often reception had no one there and they seem scattered when you asked them a question. The hotel is in a great location, backs onto the beach and plenty of bars and restauants around. Room was very basic, bed uncomfortable."

"well, its was not the very best hotel we stayed in during our vacation...they sell themselves as 5 star but that is debatable. The rooms are very dated and the bathrooms need serious refurb. After our first night in a room with no air-conditioning and a shower that was either freezing cold or scalding hot, we were transferred to a ''better'' room. The staff were friendly and tried their best in a hotel that is tired and very dated. The hotel is also very isolated, hence the ''all inclusive'' package! After a few days we felt trapped, eating the same food and just sitting around following the herd into the dining room. We hired a scooter to get out and about but that was not ideal. The best part of our stay was the excellent views from everywhere in the hotel. "
