          great value hotel”
good price and good buffet breakfast
In general this is a good hotel. The buffet breakfast is good with a wide selection but no bacon or pork sausages. However, there is ham available. The rooms are of a good standard quiet enough but the bathroom is a little on the small side, The location is about 20 mins walk from the main nightlife are and only 10 mins from the national museum. The are is generally well presented compared to the downtown area. to access the Hamra area take bus no.2 about 5 mins walk from hotel. The staff at the hotel are quite well informed about places to see in Beirut and can help with ordering taxi's making reservations at restaurants and the chef Amer is very accommodating for all breakfast needs. on the whole compared to other hotel offers in Beirut, this was the best and would definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to go to Beirut.

          Small Rooms but Good Location.”
A stones throw from downtown Beirut. Amazingly friendly staff.
the staff were great. People in Beirut in general are relaxed and friendly and the staff at this hotel was no exception. One of the staff even bought me my morning espresso one day when I came down for breakfast. Fabulous people, which almost makes up for no bathtub!

          Not premium or deluxe”
complementary ethernet, central location, friendly staff, free wireless internet in lobby, decently equipped gym, mini-mart at hotel
moldy bathroom, cramped junky underground parking, SLOW ethernet, VERY uncomfortable pillows, overpriced food, painfully SLOW evening food service, no alternative restaurants near-bylimited on street parking, no air conditioning in gym, gym equipment needs maintenance
The staff was eager to assist but the hotel was way overpriced for the quality and cleanliness of the facilities was more like a two star hotel. One night there was a party in the rooms next to us and the hotel staff was not able to contain the noise.

Great View, but avoid the 8th floor”
We were upgraded from a normal room to a small suite which is totally great, except we got one on the 8th floor (see cons). The view is amazing (slightly blocked by the French university in front of it) but still... you see a great view of the city. Very romantic at night, with the blinking lights. Breakfast at the hotel is really great. There's an old school waiter who would literally go from table to table (considering this is a buffet...) asking people if everything is ok. Unheard of in this day and age. Yummy food, great variety from muesli to hot food like eggs and sausages and beans to good bread.
Rooms on the 8th floor are a big no-no. The 9th floor is a restaurant, and you'll hear high heeled women stomping around the whole night + tables and chairs being dragged (just that ever so slightly, but its enough to drive you nuts).
Room is big and spacious (we got upgraded). It contains a small kitchen even. There was a sitting room and then a separate room as a bed room. Toilets are very clean, but the water wasn't that hot (but it wasn't cold either, just this strange lukewarm feeling). Bed is comfortable, and does not come with any bugs. Location is slightly out of the way of most things, except the Museum and the Hippodrome. It took us at least 15 mins to walk to any decent restaurant near Sodeco Square. And the walk wasn't exactly scenic. Hard to get a cab in front of the hotel, you'll need to call for one, which means higher cab prices. Internet is at 3 US per hour, which is OK but it would be great if it was free, like at most cafes in Beirut. Overall, a nice place, if you like quiet (probably one of the few hotels at this price).
