Very polished and comfortable hotel, traditional Japanese touches, most of which are lovely. The only ones that are frustrating include a room service that restricts items down to soup after 10pm, and an awkward internet sign in approach via the tv.

Great location, Beautiful Garden, Wonderful Lounge”
First of all the location of the hotel is absolutely amazing. Very close to the Shinagawa train station. Walkable distance to many shops and restaurants close by. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful traditional Japanese garden. If its still available, I absolutely recommend the "Lounge" it is worth every dollar or yen or whatever the currency you are paying with!! Enjoy!!

A wonderful stay in Shinagawa”
The service staff from the hotel shuttle bus driver to the bell captain and his staff, and the reception were serving with pride and enthusiasm, sincerity and whole heartedly. Just excellent! Room for triple sharing was spacious and the facilities and garden park were well maintained and clean. We also like the hotel shuttle that runs every 20 minutes to the Shinagawa station, so very convenient!

Well-appointed, very stylish hotel”
Wow. I can never believe the price I paid for this hotel that's really top class. I like the free shuttle from Shinagawa station that runs 3 times every hour (or was it 4?). Even if you do not catch the shuttle, it's just a 10 minute walk from the station. As you approach the hotel lobby (either from the front via the main road or the back via an easy flight of stairs into a garden full of hydrangeas as it was summer), you can sense a touch of class. The lobby looks beautiful. Inside, the room is big and spacious and the bed is so comfy. The view out of the windows were amazing... I had the Tokyo Tower right in front of me and it turned into a beautiful tower at night and accompanied me to a good night's rest, every night.

Former 5 star hotels struggling to maintain its legacy but needs better business model”
Grand Prince Takanawa is a good hotel; service is excellent but it is a former 5 stars hotels struggling to maintain its legacy but needs to figure out better business model. The room for example, is at three star hotel level. It is sad. they do not get it. The overall design and looks and feels are also depressing for what they spent. The leadership team is the typical Japanese Salary-Man overly conservative risk-concerned worker type mentality, not the leaders. it needs the change and transformation.

Three star room setting in five star environment ”
Good service with older Japanese style dysfunctional tiny room. It’s three star room fixtures in the five star environment. Very awkward dysfunctional but it’s durable. And good enough for Tokyo. Needs to upgrade.

An extremely good hotel very near Shinagawa Station with a free shuttle bus service. Only flaw is having to queue for breakfast every morning. The grounds are sensational and the staff are of the highest quality.

Good to better”
beatiful garden, polite staff and not easy to find as so many Prince Hotel there
We spent first two night on 4/F, which room was cramped, small round table is useless at all as limited space. We headed to Hakone and re stayed, as booked already, and was on 8/F, surprisely spacious interior and good view of garden. We enjoyed. Both are the same price, so the 2nd stay is value for money. Suggest to have light music live at night, giving it a more classy treatment. CK

Great location near subway/metro”
location, pool, cleanliness
This hotel is next to the Marriott Sakura and New Takanawa. It is the older one but still in great shape. There are 2 pools (paid USD6) in the great Japanese Garden and there is a paid gym. There are some expensive but extremely good restaurants on the property but cheaper ones nearby. There is a hotel shuttle to the metro but it is anyway within walking distance.

Serene, beautiful Japanese garden
The reception counter staff was very helpful. The shuttle bus is very convenient. Good idea with reservation for the shuttle bus because sometimes there are too many people. The eco award is most attractive since I don't really need to change the amenities daily

Beautiul Hotel in Downtown Shinagawa”
Large property with nice gardens.
This hotel was very convenient, as we went for a friends wedding whose wedding took place in the area. The hotel is conveniently located close to Shinagawa Stn., and you can get around to almost anywhere in Tokyo using the trains. The hotel staff was very friendly, and the view we got from our room of the Tokyo tower was also a bonus plus.

Great location and good room size”
beautiful garden
Given that hotel rooms in Tokyo are quite small, I was very happy with the room at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa. Add to this the excellent location (close to Shinagawa Station), the very friendly staff, good internet connection (FOC). On the downside, with all the Prince Hotels in the area, there is a lot of confusion in terms of getting to the hotel (walking or by taxi). Furthermore, room service after 11 pm is quite limited. All in all, this hotel is excellent and very good value for money.

A hotel close to train station with lovely garden”
the Japanese garden which we walked through to access the hotel
We stayed at the Grand Prince Hotel twice, at the beginning of our 8 day visit and left our cases at the hotel at no charge while we used our JR pass to travel around Japan. Our rooms on both occasions had lovely views of Tokyo featuring the Tower. We appreciated the gardens and walked through them as often as we could. Our only disappointment was the 2 swimming pools were open during hours that didn't suit our travel and we were disappointed that a separate charge was commanded for their use. We did not use them.

garden, obliging staff, room & view
right near the railway station, immaculate garden to walk in, both times we stayed we had lovely rooms with good view. Only disappointment it has 2 beautiful pools but costs to use and the opening times are not convenient for travellers: we booked it because of the pool didn't use it. we would definitely stay again

Very nice environment ”
Convenient location
No frequent shuttle buses to and from nearby railway station
Good hotel and reasonably cheap. The room was comfortable, and the environment really beautiful, especially the garden etc. I have been a pretty frequent traveller to Tokyo, Japan, but had never stayed in this hotel until this time. Thought I was lucky for finding the hotel on the internet (via Agoda). Hopefully next time I will be able book it again. Unfortunately the hotel could not offer something like a membership, otherwised I would have loved joining in and getting some discount for my next stay there.

Great location, Close to Shinagawa Station especially if catching the Bullet Train or Narita”
The hotel is very close to Shinagawa station which was great. Great view of Tokyo Tower from my room and the gardens were very pretty. Restaurants were very pricey so I chose to eat elsewhere. it is a short walk, but be prepared to walk up a hill with your bags. hotel is nice and clean. staff are very helpful. Will stay again.
