      Great hostel with great owner”

Really nice hostel 10 minutes walk from the centre of Cusco. Showers always hot and the owner let us leave our bags when we went to Machu Picchu for the night. Staff could not have done any more to make us feel welcome and breakfast was good!

      Hidden gem- literally”

We really enjoyed our time here and extended our stay. Initially we had trouble finding it so make sure you have a phone number for them as there is no house number or hostel sign! However, the breakfast was excellent and the rooms homely, we even had a small heater (the only one in 5 weeks traveling) which was much appreciated. The shower could have been cosistently warmer but it was very cold while we were there so the weather might have had an impact. The staff were really helpful and allowed us to keep our bags there while we did the 2day MachuPiccu trip + they kept our room for us and cleaned it for our return. Again this was much appreciated. A short walk into the main square and good cafe's and restaurants around the corner. We would love to return.

      Perfect mid priced Hostal”

Rooms have good beds, heaters, hot water and lots of blankets. The host was very helpful and very nice. Sorry I didn't get his name. Breakfast area is a nice glass greenhouse like area. Breakfast included eggs, bread, coffee. Nice 10-15 minute walk down cobble stone streets to main plaza. Safe even late at night. Easy taxi service. Only negative comments are: some rooms lack a lot of Windows and light. Best way to find this place is across the street from the San Blas Market.

Good place to stay but surrounded by barking dogs”

The room is large and clean and we have a little heater which is needed. The bathroom is large and clean, the shower is hot and powerful. The beds are clean and comfortable. Wifi is ok. Breakfast of eggs and bread is fine. Our only complaint is that dogs bark 24/7 - it drove us crazy - bark, bark bark all day and all night but wherever you stay you will hear barking dogs so you might as well stay at Goya - Louis the host is great and very helpful. The hostal is, as you have read, very difficult to find - here are my directions, using a clock face to make it easier to understand. From the bottom of CHIWANPATA ROAD (from Plaza de Armas end) go up CHIWANPATA ROAD (It is narrow, cobbled and one way) at 12 o'clock will be a house, The road will wiggle to the left (11 o'clock). DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER AND TAKE THIS - there will be a sharp turn to the left at 10 o'clock- take this little road - it is a narrow, cobbled dead end to cars - Goya is on the right half way up - opposite San Blas market (DO NOT LOOK FOR A LARGE MARKET, IT IS SMALL AND INSIDE A BUILDING) but the sign is opposite Goya. A wooden door, lights each side not lit - ring the bell. I hope this helps.
