Above average”
Location is great, but the hotel is rather dilapidated and screems for thorogh cleanup and refresh. Apart from that the rooms are advertised as air-conditioned, but the aircon of the hotel is not working. It also gets very hot in Venice. Staff are good and try to be responsive.

Not the best experience”
The first night I arrived, I checked in to my room on the 1st floor which is extremely noisy. The walls are thin and there is constant noise. The toilet was running making a decently loud sound which I could still hear even with the door closed. The next morning I reported it to the front desk staff and they said they would handle it. When I returned in the evening, the same noise was still coming from it so I went downstairs and let the front desk know that I reported it this morning but it's still making the noise and he got frustrated with me and said what do you want me to do about it. I just left. Nothing was ever done after that by the staff. I was gone most of the day and night and was just there to sleep which unfortunately wasn't easy to do. The topper was that when I checked out they insisted that I had taken two waters from the mini bar when I only took one and made me pay for the two. Would not recommend this hotel.

Not bad for the money”
Nice hotel , good position very near St Marks square. Some parts of this hotel are a bit shabby . I was in a single room on the 4th floor. Very small but clean . Needed a bit of paint and a new carpet. Not a comfortable bed but it was a single . Main problem was the air con was useless. I didn’t complain because I was only there for two nights and out all day . The staff were polite, the breakfast was fairly good . There may be better rooms and more comfy beds if you’re staying in a double or twin room . The hotel needs a spruce up but for the money I paid it was fine.

The hotel looks nice from the outside. The bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok, cappuccino delicious. The inside looks with humidity spots on wall of the rooms and the ceilings, looks dirty, it could use paint, love and care.

Good choice”
The majority of hotels in Venice are 'old'! Therefore, it is impossible to expect modern 3-5-star hotels. We chose the All'Angelo as it was close to St Mark's Square -- not a cheap hotel area! The Reception staff were excellent: helpful and friendly. Breakfast (buffet) was adequate for us: scrambled eggs and bacon (don't like scrambled eggs so didn't try this), choice of 4 cereals, cold meats, rolls, cheeses, yogurts, fruit, and a wide selection of pastries. The staff were friendly and efficient and tablecloths were changed with every new setting. Some reviewers said the hotel was difficult to find but we found the hotel's directions were excellent and took us straight to the door. We were on the 5th floor and could see the domes of San Marco across the tiled roofs of nearby buildings. Beds were comfortable and we stayed there for 4 nights and had the sheets changed 4 times; the bathroom was modern and had a good shower -- but a slightly wobbly w.c. Small refrigerator in the room but no kettle. The hotel offers a free cicchetti tasting each day in the wine bar but we never tried it as we were either out sightseeing or exhausted -- I assume you had to buy a drink. This was my 4th visit to Venice and if I return in the not-too-distant-future will stay at this hotel again!

This hotel should have no more than 2 stars, how they received 4 is beyond me. Most of the staff stand behind the front desk half the day chatting, they have no idea what service is, it took us almost 2 days and asking 4 times to get something as simple as a toilet tissue roll, which the room staff had forgotten to leave in our room. there is a hole in the second step of the stairs hidden under carpet which nearly caused my friend to fall down the stairs, when she complained the staff told her to walk the other side of the stair case. When asked why there was no sign to warn people of the danger of the step, she was told they could not put a sign without permission of the owner. There is not possibility of getting tea or coffee before breakfast in the morning, and room service only begins at 10.00am. The area to sit outside which is very small, is also the smoking area, the floor was never washed for the 8 days we were there, and once the the day cleaning staff finish work the one, yes one ashtray is not cleaned until the same staff return in the morning. There was one thing that happened one night at about 1.00am, my friend Lesley and returned to the hotel after an evening out to find a very distressed woman wandering the lobby, we sat in the outside area to have a cigarette before bed and were approached by this lady who was a guest in the hotel she was looking for help. she was feeling unwell and had asked the night clerk for help, his reply was believe it or not "go to the hospital" he never even moved from this chair, there was no "I will call you a doctor" or even "i will call you a water taxi" (this is Venice). I suspected the lady had very bad gas from the areas she had pain, so I gave her some strong antacid tablets and calmed her down as she was in tears. The tablets worked and we all went to bed, but this incident sums up the level of service that is given to guests in this hotel. Avoid this place like the plague, it is like faulty towers only worse, I cou

Can only use wifi in the hotel lobby. The staff were outstanding. The walls in our room had many large cracks and unpainted repairs, a large section of baseboard in hallway was off and laying there during our stay.

Location, location, location!
Very nice stay, would definitely return again when next in Venice, little expensive but all hotels expensive in Venice! Very good location close to San Marco and water taxi available at door, we had a great time and can highly recommend this hotel, only draw back was the beds, not very good and could qualify for replacement!

It was one night and close to St. Marco's Square”
Location. Close to St Marco's Square.
I wouldn't stay at this place again it was too pricy for what they offered, I needed somewhere close to St Marco's Square for NYE celebration. Room was a decent size lots of closet space which is rare, but the bathroom was rather small. Bed wasn't the worse that I've slept in at a hotel, but they could purchase new mattresses at the rate they are charging. the porter took forever to come get my bag checking in but expected a tip. I didn't even bother using the porter in the morning. Typical Italian hotel breakfast, except they didn't have any fresh fruit. Everything was self serve even get your own coffee. I was very close to the square only a block or two away less than a minute and your at St Marco's Cathedral.
