Everything we needed ”
Best thing of the hotel is the location ,staff were friendly and helpful ,the room had good bed and powerful shower thou bathtub cud of done with replacing and cleaned ,hotel cud do with a up lift in parts but for its size and location it does the job

Checking-in the hotel was like checking-in the airport for your flight : line was that long; I never experienced that with any other hotel. The facilities were atrocious: carpet old and smelling (they should just take it off, really); the bed sheets smell, and the bathroom has a pungent smell. You also have to go out of the hotel, to another cafe, for breakfast; not very convenient.

Quick check in, check out with self check options. They changed our room without fuss to a more quiet, higher floor. Breakfast across the road, gym next building; not a problem for me. It’s a huge, busy hotel with a lobby that feels like a bus or train terminal. Battery of elevators, you never have to wait. Bits of history everywhere. A microcosm of NY with all its pluses and minuses.

This hotel should be renovated. THE electricity was loodsen in THE wall .I have pictures of that. THE bath was very damaged and fuilty. Fungus at THE veiling . They covered holes in THE wall with isolation foam. THE airco was very old and dirty. THE carpet was unexplainable dirty and old. We choose his hotel because we cam from DC late in night/ morning. We did even showered are use THE bathroom to clean our teeth. I Spoke with THE manager and he Saïd if I Saïd somerthing he would have given me another room. But 1.30 am I did not went down anymore. They say THE Will reimburse 35 %. This is not OK . If you want I can send your organisation real pictures. If I was in charge of your company I would ASK for an explanation and full reimbursement and kick them off your site. I Will send this also to booking.com and other organsitations. This hotel was clean. That’s the most positive thing I can say. Our key card would not work 5 different times. Anytime we left our room it wouldn’t work. The managers I spoke with would say sorry and give us new ones. The last manager was rude and looked away when I tried to talk to him. We were also charged an extra $84 after we paid $400 for the room for 2 nights. The invoice said facilities charge. I asked why and this rude manager said everyone pays this bc you get free wifi, etc. I said it’s not free if you’re charging. And it’s hidden fees. We paid almost $500 for 2 night stay and it was not worth it since we had to go back to front desk every time we needed to get in our room. The room is small but clean. We also never got any wash cloths we asked for. I won’t be back.
The payment scheme is unusual and a bit tricky (at least by my experience) where you have to make second payment for facility fee at the hotel. After checked the reservation in Agoda, I just realized that it is stated about this facility fee but under normal condition when you browse for accomodation, I think most people will not aware with this kind of payment scheme. Agoda actually can do better by giving a pop up reminder. When the cost is sum up you can some other hotels that are actually worth more.
They charged facility fee about $40 per person per room without telling you.
Super location accross Penn Station”
Confeniently located accross Penn station. Room is very basic and bathroom old. It smelled very much of cleaning/desinfectation stuff. Staff very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast very simple but included. Be aware that you pay an additional 40$ per night facility fee at the hotel !!!! That makes hotel way more expensive than it looks like.
A good basic base in great location to explore New York”
Great location, rooms clean enough but tired (in upgraded Penn Plaza room), complimentary breakfast good, albeit down the road at other location. Rooms small as expected and hotel Pennsylvania immediately opposite Subway and straight down road 0.9 mile from Times Square.
This hotel seems to be continuously overbooked. To wait 5 hours in the middle of the night for a room when you come from an 18 hours trip is not acceptable. Only a few rooms are renovated. The good thing is that the hotel is in the heart of New York, opposite of Madison Square garden and Pennsylvania Station.
If you like dirty smelly shabby interior rooms go ahead make your day.”
The NYC hotel committee if there is one should investigate the old rooms and floors if this hotel can barely represent a Manhattan standard. Rat in the room was shown to me by a compatriot taken from a cellphone. I paid $140 for a Wedneday night and even with that cheap price I deserve better treatment.

Staying in many hotels during visiting America, good experience except here!!Arrived at 23:30 got a suitable room at ~04:00 very long waiting, long long line!I wonder if the manager know this?, changed the room for 2 times, unable to stay, very dirty room given to me same as some others who had same problem, some need to find new hotel to stay at midnight!The staff was not helpful at all, no smile at all, some help from a man who is the manager, got the renovated room, I feel better.The location is good just one step from subway with many shopping spots.Try to book the new renovated room, you will be o.k.

The room os very old, the wall and ceiling are broken. I called the front desk three tines to refill facial tissue but no one pick up so I went down. I went back my room and waited for half hour but no one came. I called again the girl said they marked down the wrong number and would be a little while, i waited for another half hour, still didnt come! Very bad! The facial tissue in the room only a few pieces left If you need to check out, please go down at least half hour before!! Its slow!

I personally wouldnt want to stay here, Yes touristy spots are all behind this hotel but if you want to explore New York, the metro line is very limited from here. And the hotel is very dirty, they dont change the blanket.

pros near madison square garden and penn station do not book on this hotel , its the very worst, dirtiest, haunted, very old hotel I ever stayed, the hotel faucet is dirty and the pipes so rust they dont even bother to change it, its entirely different in the pictures they showed in the internet, pls dont book in this hotel if you want to enjoy your stay in new york . when you enter hotel lobby looks good and clean but the line in check in takes for ever. then when you walk on the elevator and hotel hallways like you are walking in an horror movie the vintage door which is soo dirty and when you enter the room the things are all dirty they have sofa thats soo dirty . soo wont advise this hotel at all.
Very old hotel but with a prime location”
The room was dark, dirty, old, scarry...it was a MUST for us to upgrade (with fee). The whole floor (2nd floor) smells like chemicals. The beds were too old that they can't support your bodyweight. The bathtub was dirty, the tv remote has no batteries in it.... We upgrade (+$50 per night), and were put in the 11th fl. The only room available was a single king bed to sleep the 3 of us. Wouldn't recommend unless you ask for newly renovated rooms.
The hotel is the horrible, check in always long queue. I use machine to check in but no breakfast coupon.That need to queue for it again. The hotel is very old and room floor is dirty.Bathtub also peeling off and sink also shaking .Overall is truly very bad.

The old part that no renovated smell ugly, the carpet is dirty in halls and room, the-air condition dont work, the bathroom are dirty, The line to check in or ask a question takes more than an hour, There are no signs of not disturbing, in the room, and the housekipping knocs on the door only once and they do not wait you answer, and they open the door, a disaster, I do not recommend it

It was discusting. No service mind on staff, without facility, they get facility fee once again. The lobby staff at reception desk, they made me feel unpleasant. when i want to check out, they ask again for the facility fee even if i already pay for this on check in stage. They were like thieves. The room was not acceptable for cleaning and the smell in the hall was not good as well. I have traveled to many contries (Spain, Italy, Africa, Japan, Thailand, China and Vietnam.....etc) No other hotel was like this. I will inform to All of my friends in many countries, "please don't use it".
Longest checkin "process"...”
Hotel location is fantastic! Thankfully I had the "newly renovated room" so that's ok. Room is big enough for 3 pax, clean and acceptable. I guess this is the only consolation for me to give thumbs up for the location. Check in process is horrible! Way too crowded at lobby with guests waiting to be checked in. You need to wait at least 40 mins. then again the receptionist can chat for the longest time with guests, not aware of the long queue. Better forget about the free breakfast cos there is no in-house coffee lounge. No fridge or coffee in the room. Shower pressure is low. Be prepared to pay USD5 per luggage, as you need to check out at 12noon for an evening flight. Traffic is really bad so it is good to make your way to the airport early.
