Iconic hotel right NEXT to the pyramids”
Rich in history, this fabulous hotel has been altered and added to very tastefully and the lobby, grounds and cafes are fabulous, as are the lounges in the residential blocks. There are some wonderful antiques and copies of old photos. The rooms are fairly ordinary and a bit dated,- BUT the views - with or without pyramids, are lovely and the most gorgeous bed linen - or rather - Egyptian cotton! The staff are kind and remember you and were most helpful in some confusion over a tour. I would always go again - just to see the giant and oh so stunning sight of the pyramids from the gardens or balcony. This sight is incomparable and indescribable and has a spiritual and mystical quality which is beyond comprehension.

Not worth the splurge”
If budget is absolutely no issue than it's fine. If money is a factor at all, it's definitely not worth "splurging" on. You can get just as good a view of the pyramids from other hotel's (with terraces)- the lack of views was probably the most disappointing. Perhaps if you stayed in the Presidential Suite you'd have a better experience, but overall, it feels like Mena House has lost it's soul in pursuit of expansion and upgrades. We felt that it was a large-scale version of the "Egyptian Hustle". All in all, we had a much better experience in our $13/night accommodation in the heart of Cairo during our other nights.

It is a well designed and organized hotel that had all the facilities that you need. Get to find out the history of the hotel and you will appreciate it more. Everything was spot on for us so we will definitely be having regular visits to the hotel.

Quiet Sanctuary”
I was here for my birthday and the reviews indeed do justice to the place. Food was just okay, i've tasted better outside. But the location is really the cherry on top of the cake. U have breakfast fronting the pyramids - AMAZING. Plus they gave me a cake for my bday, really sweet. I do wish that their wifi extends to the room not only in the common area. It's quite inconvenient to be doing calls in public, or you can't talk loud enough. But overall very nice stay, i highly recommend to those first time travellers, it's a good experience.

Breathtaking pyramids view. Very comfortable stay.”
The only thing I have to say against this beautiful and memorable place is that the staff could have been trained with better attitude. But it could have been just my luck with that one bell boy, so overall, I LOVE this hotel.

Room with pyramids view with 5star experience. ”
1. Location near by Pyramids, 2. Excellent quality of hotel with history, 3. Staff performance
This hotel does deserve 5 stars at international standards but with more benefit for tourists; fantastic location to Pyramids and view from the hotel room. I paid for a room with Pyramids view and indeed I got it as per my expectation. The hotel staffs are well positioned everywhere to assist you for your comfort and convenience. Breakfast with pyramids view was also nice. It was exactly what I wanted it to be.

The PERFECT Location”
location, staff, atmosphere
We are a family with a 16 month old baby and we spent 3 nights at the Mena House over a long weekend. We stayed in a Pyramid View Room and when we woke up that first morning we couldn't believe that our balcony had direct views of the pyramids. The hotel itself is like a museum with a rich abundance of history and charm and the staff were incredibly attentive and professional. I would highly recommend this as the place to stay if you are looking for a family friendly place just a stones throw from the pyramids.

Beautiful hotel with incredible views of pyramids.”
The views were amazing. Located next to the pyramids. Ths staff were very helpful and attentive.
Mena House is a beautiful and historic hotel, many of the rooms have stunning views of the pyramids. There is a small but nice swimming pool and many restaurants offering an array of international dishes. Whilst the restaurants are cheap by international standards they are very expensive but Egyptian standards. The food is good but not amazing. Since I booked during off-season I was upgraded to a better room with pyramid views, the staff were excellent throughout my stay. However be careful in the area, there are many aggressive touts just outside the hotel trying to sell fake entrance to the pyramids or a camel/horse ride. This makes access to the hotel and pyramids quite stressful. It is not a nice area to go for a walk and all travellers should be advised to keep thet belongings safe when outside the hotel. Always ask the hotel to arrange taxi and a limosuine service since local taxis in this area are not to be trusted. Unfortunately many of these warnings are beyond control of this hotel and typical of tourist areas in Egypt. The entrance to the pyramids is a about 400metres from the hotel.

Great views, nice hotel”
There is a bus that leaves from just outside the gates to the hotel and will take you into the city, and has a stop at the Cairo Museam. The location is great for the pyramids but out of the way for the other sites of Cairo.
