Old & Creepy hotel. All the facilities requires maintenance or even total renovation.”
In general, the staff are friendly, except the lady at the reception. The Omelette Chef is the worst. Beside that he never smile and treat you with careless or ignorance, the omelette quality is very bad. Quality of food is average. Everything is ok except the coffee. Not good at all.

Quiet place away from the bustling city. Located behind the pyramids. Can actually walk to the pyramid entrance.

Best of the Pyramids Hotels”
Location, gardens and layout are exceptional. Once a 5* Sofitel, I'd now rate this as a good 3* as it is looking somewhat tired but it still represents great value.

Okay”
The rooms can be along way away from reception and there is definitely no wifi in the rooms. There is only one place in the reception area where you have to stand as there is too many kids there on phones to be able to get a seat. No quiet time there either with one kid riding a scooter around! The property itself defiantly has no curb appeal and needs a good revamp. The showers could do with a good scrub out - but we weren't there to stay in a resort. We picked the hotel for the location, being not far from the pyramids but didn't matter as you wouldn't walk out on your own anyway. The photos give the impression you can sit at the pool and see the pyramids, not so, but you can see them if you go up to the rooftop bar. By the pool there were some rowdy guests and a few children that were loud and allowed to get a little out of control, so if your after a quiet sit at the pool - think again. Don't expect everyone to speak English.

This is not a 5* hotel!”
I reserved the hotel thinking it was 5* as per the description and by looking at the pictures provided on the website. This is a old hotel, dirty carpet, very basic breakfast with no fresh juice, rooms are hard to locate and far from reception. The hotel is cheap I would give it max 3*

Comfortable hotel”
Great location, very comfortable bed. The only perk was the big number of rude chinese tourist staying here. I got the privilaged room which was overlooking the pyramid, the front desk was lacking customer service but I'm happy with the room and the cafes. Totally recommended

Tired Facilities”
The hotel was probably quite nice about 20 years ago. The rooms, hallways and facilities in general are now worn out and badly maintained. Totally not what you expect from the the photos on the internet and the Mercure name. The grounds are kept in nice order and the staff in the restaurants are friendly. Avoid the tour/taxi stand in the hotel. We paid for a driver to drive us around the pyramids and he ended up dropping us off at a place where they insisted that we take a camel ride through the pyramid compound because cars are not allowed inside. Not true at all. Although it looks close on a map, the hotel is a long walk from the entry to the pyramids.

Walking distance of the pyramids”
If you come here it is presumably to see the pyramids. Location is excellent, place is clean, staff are helpful. Don't use the in house travel agent - prices are ridiculous compared to what you can get on the street.

Mercure Cairo Le Sphinx Hotel”
Closeness to pyramids, taxi service, bar
Seems like maybe at one time it was a nice hotel, now it is pretty run down. My room was dirty and smelled like gym socks my bathroom smelled. A lot of the staff were so unpleasant they were almost hostile. When i went to tour the pyramids my bag was removed from my room and i had to make a big deal to get it back. At one point i asked the bellhop to grab the front desk clerk and he told me to wait and just stood there picking his nose in the lobby instead of walking 10 steps to get her.

Great View of the Pyramids at Giza”
Attentative Staff; Beautiful View of the Pyramids at Giza; Cheap taxis from the hotel to anywhere in the city
The Mercure Cairo Le Sphinx Hotel was very nice. The food was good and fairly priced. WiFi was available in the lobby, but I was disapointed to find that only cable internet was available in the rooms and the charge was $20 USD per day to use it. The price of the room was fair, but I was charged an extra $20 per day upon arrival because my reservations were erroniously made for 1 person, when The reservations were intended for my wife and I. $20 per day was extremely expensive for 1 extra person to stay in a room that was already paid for.

Clean, friendly and great view ”
In a great position on the outskirts of Cairo , fabulous view of the pyramids , very clean and lovely decor
We really liked this hotel , staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was smaller than expected but warm and comfortable, loved our little balcony with its great view of the pyramids There is not much around in terms of shops etc but that's what we liked about it. It is a short taxi ride into another part of Giza and all the drivers knew of this hotel so it was easy to get home. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and so grateful that we were supporting tourism in Egypt

Good Location, Helpful Staff, Comfortable Room”
Good Location, Helpful Staff, Comfortable Room
A very confortable stay in Mecure Le Sphinx Hotel. Tight safety measure. Room was very confortable with a pyramid view. Breakfast was ok. Hotel staff were very helpful to arrange for taxi to Giza train station and Egyptian Museum. Beware of strangers outside hotel wandering around, claiming that they are hotel staff and having off day, and wish to offer taxi service. Always get in touch with hotel staff to get a taxi rather than dealing direct with strangers claiming to be hotel staff.

Lovely hotel, great breakfast”
clean, luxurious, pool bar
Fantastic hotel, attentive staff, amazing breakfast! we stayed here for 2 nights and the close proximity to the pyramids was extremely handy. The hotel has great facilities and the rooms are amazing with views of the pyramids! it was the best value for money hotel I stayed at throughout my travels of Europe and the middle east, so much luxury for such an amazing price! hotel security is also tight which made us feel very at ease! oh and there is a great pool bar!

location to the pyramids as they were just down the road and quiet rooms and nice clean room
the rooms are shabby and need up dating but they were quiet and clean and we could see the pyramids from our room the breakfast was not included in the price so we were not happy about that as all the other hotels we have stayed at has breakfast included other than that our stay there was good
