Good location and facilities ”
Clean and new still. Nice pool. Location is close to restaurants and short walk to beach. Breakfast is OK - buffet with average selection but not particularly tasty. We were here mid-week so wasn't crowded or busy.
3rd time staying at this hotel and will stay here again!”
Repeat customers come back for a reason. I have stayed at many hotels that I will never return to but the Moon Julie is a hotel I will always stay at when in Sihanoukville. I am always pleased with the professional service I obtain here. The hotel is clean, quiet, and modern, has a wonderfull large pool, exercise room, computer station and large restaurant with a satisfying breakfast buffet. The hotel management even corrected an issue when I had a dispute on extra charges on a motorbike rental which was not part of the hotel. Location is perfect and close to everything even if walking. Looking forward to staying here again!
Second time in Moon Julie”
Second time we stayed in this hotel. Through Agoda I booked a junior suite for 55 usd, good value for money. It took them some time to get us checked in, as they didn't find our booking. After 3 nights, me and my partner planned to go Koh Kong, and then return to Sihanoukville. I wanted to book a room again for the remaining 3 nights, but they could offer me only a standard room for 50 usd ++ on the ground floor. If I wanted better deals, I had to book through Agoda. So you have a returning customer in front of you, willing to book a room, and you tell him to book through a website, where they (the hotel) have to pay 15% commission on the booking. Guess the staff needs to learn some marketing skills. Rooms are very comfy, nice beds and pillows. I like the fact they finally put a desk in the room for using a laptop.
Best value in Sihanoukville”
2nd time I have stayed in this hotel in 2 years and my stay was at the same level of excellence as it was 2 years ago. Construction is complete and the building is nicer than my previous stay. Good to see a hotel and management that keeps the same level of excellence. I will be returning to Sihanoukville soon and will choose no other hotel but Moon Julie for my stay.
4 night stay whilst travelling”
Early check in at no extra cost. Good location. Last minute booking for a very good price. Good selection at breakfast. Good pool. We booked because the hotel had a gym. Although the gym is very basic with no weights the hotel itself was good. Would stay again.
Staying at the Moon Julie”
Very helpful staff makes your stay in the Moon Julie an unforgettable experience. Nice descent breakfast to start the day off. Very nice rooms (we booked a junior suite), tv is mounted at the far end of the room (quite far of the sitting area) and that's the only remark. Lovely bathroom and very nice beds. Great value for money, my first choice hotel in Sihanoukville.
Moon Julie Hotel”
Overall we really enjoyed out stay here. The Junior Suite rooms are half the size of the advertised 59sM. The manager was apologetic and sent some free fruit to the room. It rained continuously but the room was comfortable enough to stay inside. Good breakfast and nice big pool. Room door very old looking for a new hotel that's still not finished..
Excellent and great central location”
I enjoyed Moon Julie very much. It is located close to everything, easy walk to the beach. All staff are very friendly and efficient, rooms are a good size. I will stay again when I am at Sihanoukville
Wonderful Hotel In Perfect Location”
Stayed at the Moon Julie first week of March 2014. Hotel is clean and modern, has elevator. Room clean had a small balcony with floor space about 4ft x 4ft but good enough to hang wet towels and swim suits. There is no iron in the room but they do offer affordable laundry service. Towels are excellent as well as bath robes. Bathroom is big, clean, modern and comfortable though a little dark. Water pressure good most of the time but there were times when it was very week and just warm. Good hair dryer in bathroom. I found the double bed to be absolutely excellent and large. Pillows were the best thing as they were the most comfortable I slept on yet. Overall the room is very large and comfortable. Pool is great, very large, clean and at deepest end 5ft. Also has boundary kiddie pool area. At the time of our stay the hotel was very quiet except for echoes of doors closing since there are no rugs used anywhere. Exercise room will be in its own enclosed small building outside but still being built as well as the outdoor pool restrooms. Work being performed on hotel is quiet, clean and non-intrusive. Free buffet breakfast was really good with a mix of western and Asian foods, and yes you can eat till you pop. There is also a chief there who will make you fresh omelettes. Lunch and dinner offerings are adequate, reasonably priced and very tasty. Best way to get around is rent a motorbike, the hotel can arrange this for you. Beaches are great, clean, warm water. As far as nightlife... Forget it! Sihanoukville seems to be a haven for elderly men as that is what you will see most of here in the bar/restaurant area. Did not get to go to the islands but plan on next time here, I heard they are nice. Hotel is in nice quiet area within walking distance to bars, restaurants and part of Ochhheuteal/Serendipity beaches. Summary: Nice place to get away sunbath for a few days and Hotel Julie great hotel for the stay. I do plan on returning to this hotel.
Still my favorite in Sihanoukville. ”
I travel to Sihanoukville quite often and I've stayed at the Moon Julie several times. It still has one of the best locations in town, clean, large rooms, and a friendly and professional staff. It's still my favorite Sihanoukville hotel but I did notice that the breakfast buffet didn't have near as much to offer this trip than in the past. Still I'll be staying here again my next trip and who knows, the breakfast buffet may even be better. Great management and a paraprofessional and friendly staff will keep this hotel at the top for a long time.
Probably would not stay there again”
My second visit her in my attempt to give the place 'another chance' large / mostly Chinese guests you scream and shout in all areas of the hotel, walking around in dressing gowns, slamming doors and being inconsiderate to others. The staff are fine, hotel is still quite new but it's not a relaxing place to stay.
Still the best”
I have friends who live in Sihanoukville so I visit several times a year. I think that this is the best hotel in all Sihanoukville. Great location, large clean room, good AC and TV and a friendly and professional staff.. I always enjoy my stays here.
Good Location, Great for One Night”
This is more expensive than some hotels, but still a good value for your money. We stayed for one night before continuing on to Koh Rong (go there instead of hanging in Sihanoukville!). We booked the cheapest hotel room which was on the first floor but the room was perfectly clean. It is awkward because our room faced the parking lot which meant we could not open the curtains or windows. The room was pretty well insulated and we didn't have any noise issues. The facilities are good overall. The door to our room was too small for the frame, but it wasn't a big issue - just a bit odd. The A/C worked well in our room and the beds were fine, leaning more on the firm side. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. The gym is old and could use upgrades on the equipment and A/C. But if you are inspired to work out, you can get a good workout with a little creativity. The Breakfast was good. The offer a variety of items in the buffet. A chef was making delicious soup. There was an omelette station, potatoes (they were pretty bad), tons of fruit, variety of breads, tea, coffee and more. The only downside is they stop refilling it about 30 minutes before close so get there before then! It's located close to the night market (nothing special) and close to the Golden Lions. It's in walking distance to a bunch of restaurants. I wouldn't stay here for a longer vacation but it is good for night or two!
Service and location was nice, but there was a problem make me disappointed. When I checked in, I forgot to check refrigerator, have 1 mineral water bottle has been opened. And I didn't know . When I checked out , I must pay for that bottle. I felt not comfortable
Great rooms & location”
Enjoyed our stay here. Great family room and lovely pool. The Hotel is situated in a great location and is close to both the beach and restaurants. The breakfast in the morning was the only let down.
Moon Julie Hotel is in a great location just a short walk to the beach area. The staff are friendly, communicating with some reception staff was difficult due to poor English, however we did survive! Unfortunately the beds are rock solid and very difficult to sleep on and the breakfast was not the best. The hot food was cold, the cold drinks were hot and we gave up after the second morning of having breakfast (we were there 4 nights). The pool area is lovely.
this is a great hotel for the price, food is ok preferred it when they had a chef at the omelette station but splitting hairs, great pool, great location and staff are lovely and very helpful, although they did try to take my passport of me at reception.
Cleanliness rooms with good location”
The rooms are clean, comfortable and simply nice decorating. The ABF is acceptable but make sure the manager must have a chief to do the omelette in front of the guests. It's the art of cooking. Totally it's a great place for a trip in Sihanoukville.
pleasant enough ”
Sihankoville is a strange place but the hotel is well situated near the beach and the room (junior suite) was huge with nice amenities, robes etc. The food is ok, not great, and although the staff are young and their English is limited they try very hard. The outdoor pool is lovely. I get the feeling that this new hotel will continue to improve. The bathroom had that Asian drain smell occasionally and the hot water is temperamental. WiFi very good for me but my wife found it moody, don't know why.
Opened too early, not ready”
This hotel was not readt to be opened, had to try three rooms before we found one where air con worked. No light fittings on balconies just wires, gym very bad with old equiopment qnd wires hanging out of wall, pool was very dirty.
