Edinburgh in the SNOW”
This little gem is worth a visit for sure. Not to far from the city to be remote yet not to close to all the hustle bustle a perfect little oasis. Room was fine ,food was excellent and drinks, although a little pricey £5 50 for a pint of Peroni went down a treat. The transport system in Edinburgh is in a league of its own a £4 00 day pass covers all your needs and the Hotel is situated on the main road between the airport and the city center. All in all we had a great 4 nights and if your looking for a good city center pub who serve very reasonably priced food look for the Amber Rose just off Princess St.

The food was delicious but a little overpriced. Lovely, clean bathroom and bedroom. With delightful toiletries. On the day no guarantee of parking though, which is exactly what I chose this hotel for.

Great price for standards received. Would certainly stay here again. Was a straight road to the centre even though it was a long walk. Would recommend.

Pros - price and staff Cons - very cold in the room, aged facilities and furniture / carpets stained. Hot water takes a while. Easy to get to from the airport but far from city center

Hidden gem in the city! ”
It's for our anniversary celebration in Edinburgh and the hotel was so kind to have upgraded our room and prepared a greetings card in room welcoming us. The room is gorgeous. It's very spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable. All the staff we came across is so friendly and helpful. All in all, this is an absolute wonderful experience. Although it is not in city centre but it's not far as it is easily accessible by bus or any public transport. The only critic we may have is the water temperature in shower room is difficult to control and it will be good to have facial tissue box provided in room too. Other that these, everything is perfect and I would love to be back and recommend it to anyone.

Lovely hotel”
Food was delicious, staff were really friendly & helpful, rooms were beautiful.
Brilliant start to our holiday in Scotland, lovely hotel & staff were so nice & helpful. Would have been nice to have a phone, mini bar & maybe an iron to go with the lonely ironing board, but overall a fantastic place and we'll definitely be back!

Average hotel i Edinburgh”
Public transports close by, cost, room
For our last night in Scotland, we decided to stay at this hotel in Edinburgh. It is not close from the city centre but the bus stop is just across the street. Rooms are fine, modern and clean but the noise insulation is not so good. Did not have breakfast so can not comment about it. Average price for Edinburgh, taking into consideration location and price/quality.

Good value hotel 40 minute walk to centre in the throws of being upgraded so noisy at present. Room doesn't get wifi but the staff were very friendly, particularly at breakfast.

I was quite disappointed”
The dining room and the breakfast were lovely
For a hotel in Scotland's Capital City, I was honestly quite astounded that there was not one member of staff I came across that was actually Scottish. They were (I think) all Eastern European. A far cry from the good old Scottish hospitality I was expecting given that the hotel is a stones throw away from Murrayfield Stadium! Check-in was fine other than I forgot I was in Scotland with the receptionist and Manager? twittering away in their native language during our check-in. When we got to our room, there was no duvet on the bed, so I wandered along the corridor to find three housekeeping staff quite out out by my request for a duvet. Given that it was the middle of winter I didn't think I was asking too much. The size of the room was fine as we were only staying one night. There was a good selection and amount of teas and coffee, although the sachets of hot chocolate had been used and the empty packets left in place of full ones :o( The bathroom was a decent size but wasn't cleaned to the standards you would expect in a place you are paying to stay. They could do with a wee refurb or even a few minor fixes. We were visiting family so only ate in the restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant, is quite simply, beautiful. What a lovely surprise before checking out! It was warm and cosy and festive and comfortable. The buffet wasn't spectacular but you could also order from a small menu. The eggs benedict was very nice indeed. The staff were ok, I just found the majority of them a bit uninterested. Having previously worked in the Scottish hospitality industry for many years, I was expecting a lot more in the way of Scottish hospitality. I was quite disappointed.

Decidedly average. Not as advertised.”
The bar, car parking, 20 minutes walk to Princes Street.
The room was advertised as an Executive Double but was very small with two single beds connected together. The sheets on the bed were extremely creased although clean. There was no mattress covers and so could see stripes of mattress underneath. The remote control for the TV was missing so we went to reception and they said that the last guests had taken it and would try to find a replacement. This did not happen. The quilt for the bed did not fit as was only a single. We, again, went down to reception and they said that housekeeping would sort it. Arrived back in the room at 0930pm after going out and it still had not been done. Enquired at reception and 10 minutes later they delivered an ill fitted quilt in a cover which we had to then fit ourselves. There was no local Edinburgh information leaflets available in English. Could try harder if they want better comments.
