Best hotel and super-friendly and professional staff”
I was a solo traveller and I would say the staff was one of the best I've ever seen. I want to give a shout-out to security guard Mr. Ashraf and shop owner Mr. Alaa el-Din, who was extremely professional and helped me with the problem I've faced in Luxor. Mr Alaa el-Din and one security guard with a moustache was very nice and every time I went out the hotel they greeted me well and gave me information about tourist places and what prices I would expect. The staff in the hotel spoke perfect English and smiled to the tourists all the time. Room was also super clean and spacious. The garden view was amazing. Swimming pool was big and clean. Location was near to every tourist places. 5 minutes walk to Luxor temple and Macdonald. Best hotel you can get from Luxor.
Haven in the city”
The room was spacious, and very clean, air conditioning quiet, two pillows per guest and a great garden view from the balcony. The grounds are beautiful and you share the facilities of the more expensive Winter Palace, so you have use of the refreshing pools. Great value and located close to the town, Luxor Temple and Nile.
Great Hotel with even Greater History”
Hotel was in a prime location and within walking distance to the city's center, Luxor Temple and Souk. Hotel was clean, wifi was strong and staff were helpful. In addition to everything one would expect from a 5 star hotel, this hotel comes with a long and rich history. Do explore the hallways and corridors to learn more about Egypt's history.
Don't expect too much luxury in Luxor”
I was surprised at how 3rd world Luxor was in general. This hotel is the stepchild of the seemingly nicer Winter Palace hotel, and they share the gardens and pool. The lobby is in the far back corner, and the entire hotel was old and tired. We were rarely smiled at, or even spoken to by the reception when we entered and exited. Breakfast left much to be desired. The pool and gardens were very nice, but the whole 5-star experience was something much less than. The amenities were available, but the standard of service was lacking. But then, the entire Luxor area was of a much lower tourist standard than I expected. I've never felt more unconfortable in Egypt than when I exited the hotel with my daughter to walk along the Nile, and we were hassled to no end by the vendors waiting on the sidewalk. I felt hassled and annoyed and threatened. In spite of all that, in Luxor, perhaps the Winter Pavilion was as good as it gets?
Peace and Serenity”
Hotel’s location is just right infront of the Nile river, but you’re not really situated by the street since it is inside the Sofitel’s complex/garden. It’s quite peaceful and beautiful especially having the garden view. All staffs were very courteous and kind. Room was very spacious and clean. I highly recommend this hotel! Best one in Luxor.
Old Hotel with lovely features”
A lovely old hotel that still retains it charm. However being constantly harassed for money in Luxor most probably due to the lack of tourists we were not expecting to be asked for a tip by the man who cleaned our room, whom seemed to be laying in wait for us. This was the only thing I can complain about as the hotel is in a good location and we were kindly upgraded to a room in the Old Hotel facing the garden and the front desk did give us a complimetary late check-out that we really appreciated.
Very good location , very close to Luxor temple, Acceptable price for room service n good quality of food. Professional staff jn hotel We are enjoy in this hotel, wana stay more days if we can :)
Exceptional staff ”
We had a short stay in Luxor but were greatly assisted with any problems by the reception staff, particularly Eslam and one of the other concierges (sorry we didn’t get his name), who was an amazing help to us. The hotel has a great location, amazing breakfast selection and many facilities. Very safe and comfortable.
Reasonable quality for price paid”
We spent 2.5 days in Luxor visiting temples and historical sites. This hotel is in a good spot in the city relative to Luxor Temple. This property is the sister property of the Winter Palace and shares many of the same facilities. The Pavillon is an older hotel that is in need of some upkeep. The hotel grounds are well-tended and truly 5* quality, but the rooms, beds, and A/C are satisfactory to disappointing quality. We had a late departing flight from LXR and asked the front desk for late check-out, but found that our day trip wouldn't get us back until 5pm. They did allow us a late check out for $50 USD, though, that rate was almost equal to the room rate we paid on Agoda. The A/C in our room did not work and the room had a strange odor. When we arrived, the bathroom had not been cleaned or restocked with towels or amenities. Housekeeping came and addressed it, but still didn't replace amenities and there weren't any hand towels. It was bizarre. The refrigerator still had rubbish from previous guest. Most of the light fixtures in the room were dead. I will say that the double balcony we had was pretty cool. You could see a little glimpse of the Nile from the room and had a lovely view of the garden and pool. The breakfast, which is included at this property, is inadequate for western palates. There is a strange assortment of meats/cheeses, an omelette bar (decent), and the rest is just pastries/danishes. It's enough to get your day going, but the quality isn't there. I was fine with it since we weren't paying anything extra for it. Outside of the weird entrance to the Pavillon, is the Nile River and hundreds of falucas. It is beautiful to stroll in the evening at sunset, but be prepared to be harassed by every single Egyptian trying to sell you something or a faluca ride. No hassle = obnoxious harassment. They don't know when to stop and you have the feeling they could get violent if you say no. Just learn a few words in Arabic and they'll back down. Enjoy this ho
A beautiful hotel with a long tradition ”
It was a peaceful and perfect escape from busy streets of Luxor. It has a beautiful garden with a large swimming pool and quality restaurants. We stayed at Pavillon, which is more moderate than the main one. The room was not very special although it had a nice balcony and there was no coffee set or water.
Perfect Location & very beautiful hotel!”
Perfect Location & very beautiful hotel! If we come back again to Luxor, definitely this hotel is our 1st choice.
upgraded to Winter Palace Hotel No extra charges”
unexpected upgrade to the winter palace hotel made our stay memorable. the staff were so kind & thoughtful, so willing to help and spoil us. very clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, balconies & excellent bathrooms. wonderful tropical gardens with beautiful flowers & palm trees. the swimming pool was fantastic with very clean changing rooms, even extra towels for the sun loungers. poolside restaurant served very good lunches. the bar terrace overlooking the nile was the perfect place to enjoy the scenery as the sun set over the nile whilst enjoying a pre dinner drink. we were dined in the hotel on both nights. both meals were excellent & good value. would definitely go again...
Safe and takes care of most things”
Superior location, very secure, nice decor, room bit old with minimal basic features. No kettle, hair dryer by default. But I think the other Luxor hotels are probably like that.
Nice quality and reasonable price”
I had very good memory in Luxor due to this hotel. Nice room and swimming pool, also good position!
The hotel(Pavilion/Winter Palace) was outstanding and the and the location was very convenient. The staff were excellent . Attentive , polite and effective. The only drawback was the gauntlet of taxi drivers, and caliche drivers and boatmen who harassed one every time you went out the front door In all, full marks to the hotel. I will visit and stay again. Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel laundry was quick and efficient and the clothes were well laundered. The pool was a delightful place to relax
Great location, staff and hotel ”
Recommend this hotel in luxor due to its great location. Attractions nearby and it's close to city center.
The pool is awesome and during the nights it’s perfect for an evening chat by the bar. We had a great time. No one was bothering us. We had such a peaceful time inside the hotel. The hotel really is a gate away from the city itself.
Quiet and nice hotel”
The room was big. Althought it was mentioned to be old. The room was very modern. Service and breakfast were fair. Definitely a good choice to stay in Luxor as it is nearby the NILE.
Super location, best service ”
I had an upgraded room in the Sofitel Winter palace instead of the room in Pavilion Winter hotel. Super nice old hotel with a lush garden and great and helpful staff. I felt very welcome, thank you!
Be careful of tour”
I asked the tour of abu simbel to hotel manager. He maybe asked to a tour company. But the price is very high. Fortunately, some discount is possible. But I can not understand why the price is high in the first time and negotiable it is the only five stars hotel in Luxor. And the hotel did not offer any complimentary mineral water though the climate is over 38c. I would like to tell to other guets this hotel's service is not good and be careful of discussing about tour.
