The room was very pretty and tidy, call the reception when you close to the gate he will send someone to bring you to the riad. They are willing to offer help and very kind to provide any kind of information. The staff Mohammed and Hassan are very kind and helpful, we had the best breakfast in fes around the whole trip in Morocco. We will definitely come again if we visit fes.

Signs guide you from the Rcif square to the Riad”
Most of us would have heard the ubiquitous stories of getting lost in Fes' famed medina while trying to locate one's riad. That will not (well, not really) happen with Riad Rcif because there are helpful signs pointing the way at every intersection from the Rcif square/plaza. Location-wise, this riad is not near the "blue gate" - it's about a 30-min walk away. However the Rcif square/plaza is worth seeing as well, especially in the evening, and the medina is all around you. Room was a little dark, but I guess that's to be expected in any riad which by definition doesn't have windows facing outwards.

It seemed that we just booked a palace! One of the most delicately decorated Riad in Fez. Very comfortable and artistic triple room. Hosts are very friendly and helpful in booking the luggage service for us. Their Hammam and Spa service is also first-class. A must-have for travelers coming back from Sahara. Enjoy a glamorous night view of the ancient city on the terrace

      greedy.”
Not a bad location as signs clear on the way from Rcif. Not difficult to find. Staff treat you good, but as many Morrocan, they treat you good only because they want money. They will try to sell you bags in high price, sell you beer, and collect tips on the day you leave, even they did not clean the room during the 4 days stay. Anyway the room is clean, shower is good and hot enough, but WiFi connection could be improved. Not a bad stay.

A Unique Experience Inside The Old City of Fez”
Experience, Value for Money & Food
The hotel location is inside the old city so cars do not go right into the door of the riad. We would usually be dropped off at the center of the city and walk around 5-7 mins inside the maze of narrow alleys that would bring us back to the medieval times. The old walled city of Fez is a UNESCO World Heritage Site so staying in this area is a plus for experience and a minus thing if you hate walking. The intricate tile mosaics adorning the riad were a feast to the eyes especially after we realized how they were made. They looked good in the photos but better in person. I had a hard time selecting the best angles as everywhere I looked, the view was worthy of a shot! Our room, the only one with the tainted windows, was on the 3rd floor. There was no elevator and we had to walk up. Having the rooms in the upper floor would give you windows. The rooms in the ground floor had no windows and were in the same area as the common areas so it could be noisy at times so going up to our 3rd floor room was worth the privacy. Our room had TV, hot water and AC. The roof top terrace has a great view of the old city. Adeel was the lone visible staff who’d fetch us from the old city center back to the riad and vice versa, carrying our stuff. He would be the one serving our meals and assisting us in all our needs. He was also telling us bits of history as we walked along the winding alleys. His service was beyond excellent. We also met the owner, Hisham. He told us the history of the place. It shocked me though that he asked me while we were having our last breakfast to login to my TripAdvisor account and selected the 5-star rating without getting my consent. I would have given the same 5-star rating. Competition is really tough I should say but aside from that Hisham was nice and helpful. Finally, the food was the best that we have tasted in Fez prepared by the owner's mom. Breakfast was excellent too. Upon our arrival we were served mint tea and Moroccan sweets.

Could be one of the best Riyad stays in Fes”
      1. The traditional tiles and architectural interior 2. Staff performance, 3. Local knowledge.
This hotel has an impressive interior decoration that's like "staying in an museum of traditional mosaic art". Given the background of this building, it can be really one of the best Riyad. 3 story building with a roof top view open to the guest. They serve dinner on top as well. The hotel working staff was very knowledgeable and giving an advice to us from his kindness and honesty especially how to get things done. They will do the best for you. The biggest challenge is to find this hotel for the first time. You will be asking a local to show you the way with some nominal cost. Otherwise you could call the hotel guy to pick you up from the entrance of medina. Google map with GPS does NOT work on this maze from my experience.

The amazing riad wonderful authentic home cooked food and excellent location
Just spent 4 nights at Riad Rcif and had a fantastic time. The riad is simply stunning an old 14 century palace restored to its former glory. The staff are very nice and we felt part of the family and we enjoyed many home cooked Moroccan meals. We will miss enjoying our dinner on the roof top terrace while listening to the call for prayer. The riad is very close to souks in centre of medina. The rooms are just stunning and luxurious and the beds are very comfy. We will definitely be coming back again soon.

Lovely traditional hotel in Moroccan style. We went there in spring time, it wasn't that warm outside, so rooms were quiet cold. But it didn't really matter, because if you see the style of the hotel you´ll be blown away. Rooms are small with lovely comfy bed and amazing bathrooms! The view from the terrace was also amazing. We highly recommend the hotel for the style.

      Nicely decorated place”
This Riad is beautifully decorated. The food was delicious (but unncessarily expensive.)
This place is very lovely to look at. The interior is gorgeous. They've done a really great job resorting it. Sadly, the owners felt a bit slimey to us. I got a sense that they thought tourist were stupid or like I was talking to a cheap car salesmen. The food was homecooked by the owners mother fatima. It was very delicious and some of the best we had on our trip. However it was ridiculously expensive for what it was. We felt a level of fake kindness and dishonesty when talking to the owner and his brother. It just had a bad vibe. The riad is also in the older more complicated part of the medina. Definitely don't recommend arriving at night.

May be the Best Place to Stay in the Medina of Fes”
      Classical Decoration, Comfort, Medina
What a lovely place to stay. We liked it very much the moment we stepped into this Riad. Just note that Riad is not a hotel but probably closer to B&B in England. But I think this Riad was far better than most hotels that we stayed in during our trip to Morocco. The decoration was superb. They got an a beautiful internal courtyard, which was the same place for breakfast. The assistant treated us with mint tea and home made biscuits. And she showed us around to most of the vacant room although ours were already booked through the internet. According to her the place used to be home on the governor in the 14th century. It's kind of odd that the bathroom was designed to be at a bit higher elevation; we were ok with that but may require precaution for the elderly. Internet was good, hot water good and breakfast was served in the courtyard just outside our room. The staff was very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend this place. Just be warned that you'll need someone to guide you from the main road within the Medina to get to this place - kind of Ali Baba's town with puzzling maize. The riad staff may offer someone to wait at Cinema Al-Alam to guide you through for free, but I think the more convenient place to wait is at the bank near the gate of Rcif. In case you have to do it alone, actually the signage is sufficient to lead you to the place.

Wonderful Riad...and would recommend it highly, excellent food (though very limited choice)...great rooftop terrace looking over ancient Fez Medina...great for sunset drinks and dinner....serves good beer and wine (sometimes hard to find alcohol inside Medinas). Only small negative was the Owner was too "in your face"...better if he stepped back a bit and did not try to sell so hard...other staff really great...especially waitess Miriam

Excellent food, pretty riad, some shady business”
      Fantastic restaurant, beautiful building, internet
This is a beautiful looking riad. Attention to its architectural detail makes it a stunning work of art. The restaurant is on the roof terrace where the view is a beautiful panorama of the medina maze and the food is delicious too thanks to the chef named Mama Fatima. We stayed in the Deluxe Room with the big bath (which is just for showers). The decoration is beautiful, but it faces the street, so we heard quite loud talking either from staff or neighbours until past 12am. The riad owner was a bit over enthusiastic, he had an altercation with our pre arranged local guide, trying to turn her away even after we informed that she was coming to meet us soon. He told us this was for our own benefit, this situation didn't feel right. He offered a free guided tour of the "real Fez" which we refused as we were happy with our tour guide. The owner gave us beer on the house for the trouble caused with our guide (who was quite upset). We later heard from another patron staying there at the time who went on the riad's Fez tour that they were taken to some pushy selling co-ops. Seeing the artisan at work is interesting, but stepping into their store usually comes with a sales ploy, so be prepared. GPS works ruffly enough in the medina to find your way and not require a Fez tour. This way you can go shopping in the medina on your own, it is the true fun and experience of Fez.

sleeping in a work of art”
      design, breakfast, location
Our stay at the Riad Rcif was great. It is located in the old Medina, which is a maze even to someone who has traveled quite a bit and has a good sense of direction. This is probably the best decorated hotel we have ever stayed at. The art detail is incredible, everywhere is stained glassed, hand carved tiles, little nooks with beautiful upholstery. Breakfast was excellent with local produce, fresh cooked bread and fresh honey. This place is 700 years old and was restored beautifully and honestly by its owner. Some of the locals didn't love him but he was nice enough to drive us around to a few places (as everyone in fez is willing to bring you to their "favorite" friends shops). If I were to give advice to myself before this trip, I would say it is worth it to hire an official guide. Our favorite thing to do is wander around new cities, but in the medina we ended up lost every time, flanked by touts and getting hustled. We found some great shops and had some adventure, but wasted too much time on a short trip.
