I kindda felt spooky”
Although the hotel has a good location, Im very disappointed with their maintenance and service. I didnt mind the old fixtures or furnitures (stuck in the 90's) but cleanliness for me is of high importance. When we checked in, the room was not cleaned properly! Also, majority of the staffs speaks little to no english so its quite difficult to communicate. I would have given this a terrible rating had it been for their food. The breakfast buffet was their redemption. I booked this hotel because of reviews that it serve halal food but Im quite surprised that the restaurant only serve breakfast and does not cater for lunch nor dinner so we have to look at other halal eateries nearby the area.
Good value for money ”
A little small insects in the room, but for the price totally worth it.
Nice location, close to Weekend Walking Street”
Value for Money. Superb location which is very close to the Weekend Walking Night Market.
Cleanest hotel in CM”
This must be the cleanest hotel in all of CM, but the hallways need to be more sound proof , my good the sound of doors slamming all night drove me crazy, guys put some rubber seals around the door jams and seal the bottom of the doors
Muslim friendly hotel”
The room was big and very clean. The hotel has signs for muslim travelers to refer to when they need to pray, i think this is very thoughtful. The only not-so-good thing is that when I wanted to shower in the morning, the water came out from the water heater was not hot.
It was close to town”
We stayed on the top floor with the mountain view. The Hotel reception staff especially the 2 ladies on duty during the day were extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean. Good location as the Saturday night market is just at its door step.

Staff was not well trained, room’s WiFi and airconditioner was not working, choice for break was very limited.
Good location and cheap”
Cheap hotel, well located near Chiang Mai Gate. The hotel is very sparse though. Bed in a room. No extra seating, no hotel toilet outside of room (send you across from the hotel to a filthy, stinkpit), cold breakfast with limited options. Overall cheap for a reason. The room was clean though, and so if you are looking for a quick stop somewhere cheap this may fit the bill.
Friendly, convenient hotel in Chiang Mai”
Excellent value for the money, staff were very helpful and kind. Front desk speaks English which is helpful when you don,t speak the Language. We highly recommend this hotel . Returned twice as travelling in and out of Chiang Mai. In our travels in Thailand, this was one of the best we have been to. Washrooms were excellent and clean, lovely showers, fairly new facility.
This hotel is fabulous. Service was spot on, even a last minute request to organize a driver for a day trip. Room was clean, though beds were somewhat uncomfortable. The safe should have been a larger, self-chosen PIN type safe. The location was great, right near the Chiang Mai gate and great street food!! Don't even bother with local restaurants, just eat the street food from the stalls on the moat. Overall, the hotel is fantastic value for the money. We will stay here again!
Two week stay ”
Stayed here for two weeks while attending a thai massage course; it was super convenient to stay here. Instead of using their bikes, I rented one from a guy down the road (450 baht/week), which was also next to a laundry lady--one day turn around (40baht/kg). Nice staff, always smiling.
Chiang Mai is a fun city. Will definitely be back.”
The room is very spacious. They can therefore afford to have kingsize bed. So much space still. They only have either queen or twin bed. Prefer the sink in the bathroom rather than outside and with some space to put my toiletteries. Aircon in the room not strong, very stuffy. Internet also very slow. Room too dark especially with the dark flower design wall paper in Deluxe Room. Made me headache.
Nice stay :)”
Nice hotel with quiet surroundings, suitable for families. If the hotel can provide more comfortable blanket for add-on bed, it will be an extra point for the comforts. There is no massage shop near by the hotel, you will have to walk for few km just for massage.
Nice hotel, located right off the Saturday night walking street, very close to the city center. The staff at the front desk was really nice and helpful, and spoke decent English. The rooms are spacious, sufficiently clean with relatively new furniture and fridge. The breakfast is simple but we didn’t mind. Generally we enjoyed our stay there, it is a great value for the money and we would recommend this place to a friend or family.
Romena Grand Hotel is excellent value for Money”
Romena Grand Hotel was much easier to find. It is located accross the Chiang Mai Gate corner. Reception Staff was very courteous in providing me early check in as I was changing from another Hotel in Chiang Mai. Staying at 3 hotels in Chiang Mai, I think it is the best selection out of the lot. Nice Restaurent and breakfast included. Room Service was great. I would reccomend this hotel for tourist who go to discover north Thailand.
peaceful hotel, clean and mountain scenery”
Clean, friendly and comfortable for the first timer in Chiengma. The 5 minutes walk to the food stalls.Very near to the Saturday Night Bazaar if you stay on Saturday and Sunday.Recommended for the muslim traveller.
Great place but shame bout the air con!!!”
We had a pleasant stay here, very clean hotel very friendly staff. The only issue we found with the hotel was that the air con had only one speed, temperature(16degrees) and only one direction for blowing the air( straight onto our bed!!) which made it fairly hard to sleep as when we turned it off it got very hot very fast!! Maybe we just got a bogey unit. Other than that I would def reccommend this hotel.
This has to be the nicest hotel I stayed in during my trip for the budget I was on. The staff were friendly and a butler carried my bag to the room. The room and hallways were very modern and clean. The room was large with a window overlooking the city. The shower and aircon worked well. Breakfast was the usual fruit selection with a choice of cooked meal and tea/coffee. All in all rather posh! The name fits the bill.
